#Kinderchat, glue, glitter, gogurt, bringing daily joy to twitter. Find us Mondays, 9 pm EST and 8:30PM London time when we talk all things Early Years!
I'm Holland- I am a preschool teacher in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We are both a Leader in Me school and a LEAP classroom. My feelings around Halloween for me personally are great! I love being scared! Many students from other cultures don't celebrate, making it difficult #Kinderchat
Hello! I’m from Tulsa, Oklahoma. I really like Halloween. I think there are a lot of activities for children to do. Dress up, carve pumpkins, paint pumpkins, etc. #kinderchat
We are casual tonight - just hanging out and playing. Our fall scavenger hunt starts in 5 min! I will tweet an item, you find it online & share link on the hashtag. #kinderchat
Hello #kinderchat Carrie on Prince Edward Island here. True feelings on Halloween? I like the candy, the dressing up isn’t my favourite. Never has been, lol!
We can't do Halloween at our school anymore. It was a big change for us, but our students have gotten used to it. We do a Sharpen the Saw day instead #kinderchat
I have eyeballs to build numbers in 10 frames, spiders and pumpkin erasers to count with, vampire teeth for counting- all from dollar tree, wrote sight words on the eyeballs as well #Kinderchat
Each teacher chooses a passion- we have everything from kickball to sewing to card making to dancing. It usually ends up about 30 activities. Kids choose 2 to go to. We do one before and one after lunch for an hour. PK-5 participates! It's great! #Kinderchat
It definitely causes chaos when it is in the middle of the school week! I love doing seasonal themed activities with my students, like pumpkins and bats around Halloween, but it is hard when the kiddos are out late on a school night and then bring candy into school! #Kinderchat
I would do some centers too for student engagement. It's nice to spice it up. One easy math center for counting was coffee filter spider webs with numbers and the Ss counted out fake spiders #kinderchat
I have never tweeted anything until my class for this semester! It's definitely a learning curve, even though I consider myself "young" at 33! #kinderchat
I should mention that Sharpen the Saw is one of the 7 Habits. Our school follows the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Kids! Haha, it probably sounds a lot less scary now :) #kinderchat
I have. The parents were fine with learning activities. They did not allow the child to go to the pumpkin patch on a field trip though. I always discuss with families. #kinderchat
I am too! I have never done a Twitter chat before. This is so new to me and I'm wondering why I have never explored Twitter before! This is a great way to chat with other educators! #Kinderchat
I also consider myself "young" at 33 and have never Tweeted before tonight. I was actually a littler nervous not knowing what to expect, but I think this will be something I explore more! #Kinderchat

#kinderchat fall scavenger hunt, item #3: an image of “the first Thanksgiving” that includes barely clothed Native People. In November. In Pennsylvania.
Maybe not exactly what you were looking for, but as someone who worked retail while teaching for MANY years, this one gets to me.

I love the excitement of my students as Halloween approaches and they want to tell everyone what they are going to be for Halloween. They get so excited! #Kinderchat
Next item (because I forget how many we are up to): a gluten free, dairy free, sugar free Thanksgiving dessert. Bonus points if it is vegan. #kinderchat
I love Halloween because it’s a time you get to express yourself by dressing up, and seeing what children children can make out of their imaginations! #kinderchat
I’m Sydney from Ada, Oklahoma and I love Halloween because it’s a time you get to express yourself by dressing up, and seeing what children children can make out of their imaginations! #kinderchat
I’m lucky to be able to do anything within reason, we read Aliens love Underpants and designed our own underwear, then Creepy Underwear to practice retelling. We made shale monsters and the high school kids are sewing our monsters #kinderchat
