A1: I'm a semi ISTE-Vet.....You need a FOCUS, find a topic, idea, or project & craft your plan on what to attend. Lines are wild so patience is an art you should perfect lol it can be SUPER overwhelming, but awesome! Also bring a Buddy you LOVE! #ISTE19#NYCSchoolsTechChat
A1: just attended #ISTE18 & it was my first time there! I would say advice wise- be prepared to be overwhelmed. That’s okay. Take in what you can, get into the sessions you can, & be ready to meet awesome people. And wear comfy shoes!!! 😜 #NYCSchoolsTechChat
#iste18 I was my first ISTE and it was awesome! But overwhelming. I wish I had time to attend the keynote and more sessions. I spent most of my time on the floor, so I would recommend making a schedule! @seanmarnold had an awesome template #NYCSchoolsTechChat
I averaged about 25,000 steps, I had a mostly empty checked bag that held a few big gadgets (switches, littleBits guitar) that I needed for a playground. Even after tossing some things, it was full coming home #NYCSchoolsTechChat

A2: The constitution center and liberty hall are musts for history buffs-Italian and Reading Terminal Market are cool hot spots-everybody wants the Liberty Bell and Rocky statue-if so go early or late to avoid crowds #NYCSchoolsTechChat
Q3 Call for proposals begins in August. What kind of topics might you submit? Share here and maybe you’ll find others who want to collaborate. https://t.co/8tovYK6ZgV#NYCSchoolsTechChat
I have grown so much as an educator since joining this group! I have learned so much about different programs and ways of thinking and looking at things through different lenses based on people I would never have met if it was not for this group! #NYCSchoolsTechChat
A3: So @andrewtwallace & his crew did a beautiful panel this year that was informative & entertaining.....I'd love to do a panel around the concepts in the book by @sonnymagana Disruptive classroom technologies....something fun, but open to ideas w/others #nycschoolstechchat
A3: I’d like to submit something about flexible learning spaces & the impact on gen z. That’s been my favorite topic for a while now 😃 #NYCSchoolsTechChat
It’s necessary! @NNERpartners is a national network of education leaders simultaneously thinking about social justice and renewing schools. Lack of proper ed-tech incorporation is a social justice issue! #NYCSchoolsTechChat

A4: #ISTE19 Sunday evening through Monday afternoon for the opening keynote which is usually the best (2nd one is often good too)-and you can’t get in the expo (vendor zone) before then. #NYCSchoolsTechChat
I think if I didn’t have so much to get done and wasn’t playing catch-up a bit-I would have enjoyed that part more. I like spending time on my own just to find all the places in my plan and organize it in my mind in advance. #NYCSchoolsTechChat

A5: Start prepping them now....share the @iste Ss & Ts standards & how they impact your teaching or also suggest you highlight & share your school practices in #EdTech by submitting poster sessions w/students =) #nycschoolstechchat
A5: Let me go and I’ll be back for Chapter 683 summer session-kind of a bribe-also, hey it’s prestigious and looks good for all of us. Also there are raffles and contests to win free trips/registration. If you get that they almost have to let you go. #NYCSchoolsTechChat
#NYCSchoolsTechchat A5 let them know in advance, write a note how you and your students have benefitted from attending conferences with #nycschoolstech team
Q6 #ISTE is expensive. Best ideas for funding? Also, who wants to share transportation and housing? Shuttle bus? Air B&B? What are your best suggestions? #NYCSchoolsTechChat
I was decent at sales (though I hated it) before I was a teacher. There’s definite carry over to selling your plans to others-something I didn’t see use in til recently #NYCSchoolsTechChat

A6: I had a dream we rented a red barn looking house together & for those fans of Stranger Things, the basement looked like the Upside Down! But I am down to share an AirBnB house! #nycschoolstechchat
A6: get to #ISTE19 by begging-admin or crowdsourcing, if willing, also, like I said there are a number of raffles, social media contests, etc. I can drive (up to 5) and I’m open to AirBnB depending on my funding source. #NYCSchoolsTechChat
A7: I am down to connect & plan w/ anyone I know we got some badass people on our team @jennlynnshanks@CGoffredoZapata ....super excited to team up, do we have a central doc to brainstorm yet? =) #nycschoolstechchat
A6: I went to ISTE in Philly and was able to fund the trip through donors choose, not sure if that is still and option but it's worth investigating. #NYCSchoolsTechChat
@jennlynnshanks@StephaniePlachy yes! Definitely worth talking more about I think I’ll know more as the year goes on by keep it in the back of your minds 😉 it’s an issue that’s evolving for me! #NYCSchoolsTechChat
