    Q2: I was a teacher for 5 years. I liked the academic side, but was most interested in my students social/emotional/behavioral development. School counseling was a natural fit. #scchat

    A2: Christina was a student in my 4th hour World History class who stayed after class to share her struggles every day becuase the "Guidance" Counselors were designated paper pushers. I sought out grad school programs to help all the Christina's in the world. #scchat

    Q2: So much of my past work experience dealt with rehabilitation of "at-risk" students. I knew there had to be a better way to reach these kids. The idea of PREVENTION lead me to school counseling. #scchat

    Great question A2: I knew i wanted to be a helper in a way that allowed me to connect with students in a way I could not as a teacher. Other counsellors encouraged me to get my Masters and so I did! #scchat

    A2: I earned my journalism degree and wanted to pursue my master's degree but did not need it in that field to work. I asked myself what's the next thing you love to do? HELP people. My adviser for Peer Ed Program encouraged me to apply for counselor ed - rest is history #scchat
