Q1: The cliche says, " A picture is worth a thousand words." How may or have you used pictures and images to help student better comprehend, retain and or synthesize content? #k12artchat#cvtechtalk@Artguy76
A1: Lately, I've been leading a #sketchnotes revolution in my district getting kids to think symbolically. I love using #booksnaps to mark text digitally and back up claims with images. I love using G Drawings to make memes and image puzzles. #k12artchat
A2. Any part of the book accompanied by photos, emojis and icons can be used to explain simple concepts to students through adequate visual cues. #K12ArtChat

A2: You could do #artsnaps by inserting emojis/images about reading the art and give an opinion this way @TaraMartinEDU#K12artChat@Artguy76 I think you could make this happen!

A3. Hashtags, combined with sticky notes to collect ideas from students under a common theme. Eg. A #Dessert sticky note could be used to list out and remember names of favorite desserts. This could be a sub-hashtag for #Food. This would incredibly help with memory. #K12ArtChat

It also familiarizes them with digital practicals because we use hashtags on twitter, Instagram and other social media. Hashtags are a way of organizing materials and that is not limited to written expression. #k12ArtChat

A5: #sketchnotes are my passion at the moment. Taught sketchnotes in Math, ELA, Science and History this week alone. Such a great way to take notes and assess learning. Check out my students' work here https://t.co/CnyjY5cvSg#k12artchat
A5. 'I used to actually draw the thing/idea and label it with what the teacher explained to me about it. Even if I didn't have something to look at, I would still identify it when I would see its use in real life.' - writer @thesolothinker shares his experience. #K12ArtChat
A6. #Booksnaps would be used for #sketchnotes by students. We're still trying to figure out how a #meme would fit the equation, but we're pretty sure we can do something about it! #K12ArtChat
A6 - Relating the content to English Language Learners’ mother tongue through #memes might make it more relatable. This would be hard though because a teacher probably doesn’t know every language but I am sure our PLN can help! #k12ArtChat
Thank you for joining this week’s #K12ArtChat. It has been a blast connecting with you! Don’t forget to join #cvtechtalk every Wednesday at 7 pm Pacific.
