A1 - I am a detail-orientated thinker, every little thing in my day has to be planned so I know what I'm doing next. The cons of this that if something goes wrong its hard to adapt, and pros is you're always on top of things #ohedchat

A-1 Big picture mostly, however there are@many times when we must change hats to be deta oriented...especially when I can often be a Lone Ranger...no asst. few support personnel in a small 7-12 building #ohedchat
A1: The pros of being detail-oriented include tackling smaller problems which lead to solutions that are practical & can be accomplished. This helps morale & provides direction towards your goals. #ohedchat

A2: In my experience, creativity is a way to rekindle innate curiosity as well as develop critical thinking in students, which are two of the most important aspects of learning. #ohedchat
A2: As a T, I would include creativity as part of any project rubric. As a prn, I encourage my T to take risks in their classroom (#TLAP), focus on Ss engagement, and stay committed to the arts!! #ohedchat
And it's important to slow down and look at details when reflecting. It's probably why I find reflection so painful, but so important and powerful. #ohedchat

A3: I believe education is still stuck in "adequately functional" mode. There are not enough "beautiful, meaningful" learning experiences for students. We need to prepare our Ss for life, not tests and worksheets. Ts need support to be creative.

A3 I think this goes back to finding your artist/creative mind. An artist always gets back up when knocked down. Forever in search of an original idea w/value. Ed today we need to create learning not consume it. We need to create opportunities where none exist #ohedchat

Students so often fear to fail, but so do educators. Maybe this is a sentiment that can create a bond. Understanding that growth comes with failure can be a tie that binds the two groups together. #ohedchat
I did projects alongside my students. My first project didn't get completed by the end of the year--I had hoped to model careful planning; instead, I modeled how to handle it when things go wrong--as they will! #ohedchat

We need to understand a creative mind is on 24/7/365. Not just when it’s convenient for us as ts or adults. When a child challenges the status quo, exhibits insatiable curiosity we must celebrate it. Even the moments of inconvenient creativity. #ohedchat

A5: I get in there and do everything I can. I didn’t just teach — I volunteered for things no one else would do, I worked with custodians cleaning, I served lunch, I did whatever I had to do. Eventually, people realize you are someone to trust. #ohedchat

A5- I recently had a mentor tell me that it takes inspection to get people on board. We can continually "talk at them" but that does not create buy-in. We must find a way to inspire. I have taken that advice to heart. @GMNorth#ohedchat
