I know that many schools have come to the year-end closings, yet, I thought it might be cool to take a look at #passion tonight, and how it interacts with #Resilience development. #resiliencechat
A1: I teach my little people the difference between a face and an opinion. I tell them that's what makes us all unique and that it's okay! #resiliencechat

Remember you can respond to any piece of information, or Question you like. Just use the Q1 or Q2 etc, o we can follow your input. Thanks! #resiliencechat
#resiliencechat I think #Confidence comes when we #empower students to recognize the positive impact they can make on their world. When they see it, and recognize their powerful impact, it can ignite a fire to want to do more of that! @garyzeleskynow

#resiliencechat A2: Building #confidence comes from showing we, as teachers, make mistakes as well. Leading by example in trying new things and jumping in with them. #Reflecting on the experience and charting progress.
I think we have done a better job of supporting #educators, and #parents with working to understand the importance of creating environments where children can see their skills developing, thus building #confidence and #courage#Resiliencechat
A2 When I was in my 20s, I took a class titled "Drawing from the Inside of Your Head." My technique is terrible, but I have a great imagination. I still enjoy looking at those drawings. #resiliencechat
Yes, I love the idea of jumping in with them! This means that we too continue to be #learners, rather than those with the information, or knowledge that we need to give to students. We must facilitate learning environments that build skills. #resiliencechat

A3) Support them, always. Don’t limit them by their age, or their assumed maturity or capability. The burden is on the adult to prove they think students can do anything. #ResilienceChat
So important not to place false or arbitrary limits on students. The best ideas in the world are often in the mind of a child, and yet, sometimes, are suppressed for years until someone is ready to see them. #resiliencechat

A1) Let them stand for things! Recognize their current conviction as as valid as a different conviction they may hold later. This is growth. #ResilienceChat
In many situations I think our society seeks to dismiss the convictions of our children, yet, are we not doing what we do for them? Thus, their convictions should, in my opinion, be used to inform our actions as adults! #Resiliencechat

A1 #resiliencechat when I see #responsiveclassroom whip shares happen at my school, I wish teachers would wean back on the "pass" option. so kids start asserting an opinion instead of remaining anonymous/quiet, etc

A4 Many of us have had some trauma in our life times. We need to make sure that we don't transmit that to those in our charge which is hard to do. We all need to heal. #resiliencechat
YOU JUMPED IN!!! Awesome Marcia! #Resiliencechat I think the development of #AcademicDiscourse is also a trait worthy of expanding. So, each child learns how to share in a safe process, and build that confidence to expand on their skills. @Flipgrid also builds this confidence

That could be part of it Jeremy. For some it is safer for students to only learn what is taught, rather than to take any teaching, and ask questions regarding the information. Their growth is seen as a challenge. Questions should be valued in school! #resiliencechat

This is why @Flipgrid can be so powerful for English Learner students #EL or shy kids, or anyone that might not like to speak in front of others. Children can use #technology to share ideas, content, opinion, then share it via technology. Its a game changer! #Resiliencechat
A6: We need to be their biggest cheerleaders! It is important to build strong relationships with our students so that they are able to spread their wings and fly! #resiliencechat
#resiliencechat Q6 I think we hold a responsibility to teach and support about #passion. How can we seek to support children to not only build their academics skills, but also their #passionIQ? @garyzeleskynow

Q8: #resiliencechat First Thanks to you all for hanging out with us tonight! I think that #passion is so important with helping students to find their why!
So, with a nod to @saratruebridge what might you do to help students find and follow their passion?
