A:1 Feedback in my MYP Class is when the students teach the class and sound like mini me's. I know they have grasped what we do and how to teach it to others. #espechat
A1:: I observe student performance to get feedback on my lesson. Is it fitting? This week I had to adjust based on what I saw from different classes. #espechat
A1) My feedback is mostly related to the cues of the skill we are working on, Admittedly, feedback is something I need to be more purposeful about in terms of being specific #espechat
Some of the time, yes. Especially in the upper grades, we work on what the different levels look like and how the progressions work. When they help decide, I find I get more accurate feedback and motivation. Just don't always have the time. #espechat
A1 Posing questions with my small trans, self-assessment plagnets to see what my ss think as well we how they engage with levels, video recordings so ss can SEE my comments in action #espechat
Trying to build Gifs of each critical element for kids to revisit on my iPads to help them access cues without me to help them be self directed it’s my new project #espechat
A1 #espechat I find I give specific "feedback" to Ss as I circulate throughout the class during an activity. When I see incorrect form on a skill, I diagnose & direct Ss. I admit, I use LOTS of praise, which is good, but much different than feedback.
It takes time and a class culture of honest self reflection and as the teacher always asking S’s to revisit where they leveled themselves. But once they get it it’s powerful for sure #espechat
A1: We also will walk around and look at Ss performing the skills being practiced. We will give lots of praise and some individual feedback when working with a student one on one. We stay until they get it! Or else we modify so they experience success. #espechat
A2 #espechat Said this last night in #pechat but your assessment data should drive your insturuction. I use results as feedback for myself to guide the next lesson. Don't be married to the lesson plan! Wander off the path once in a while, good things happen here!
A2: STOP TEACHING THEM WHAT THEY ALREADY KNOW!!! If they’ve mastered it in the pre-assessment- move on; confidently #espechat#espechatmucheasierwith280
I started to use the #plagnets to self assess & the Ss who put down not yet are shocked when I come over to talk to them right away. It's so cool! #espechat
A2) Topical question with #pechat's topic last night. Assessment Of Learning (AOL) vs. Assessment For Learning (AFL). AFL is the driving force to determine where Ss should go next in terms of scope and sequence of skills/concepts #espechat
Just finished some bedtime reading with the little man.
A1: Feedbeck is professional and constructive. It is verbal, visual, and is a never ending cycle. #espechat
A2: you can use the results to focus on any aspects of reteaching needed or areas that students are struggling to add more so that they are able to succeed potentially. thoughts? #espechat
I like to use my assessments as ways to see who I need to help a little more. Just finished jump ropes and the formative assessment directed the second half of my lessons. #espechat
A2: S’s drive instruction sometimes they need more challenge for success, a different approach, or to just move on and spiral back to the skill #espechat
A2 it definitely guides your instruction in the sense that you need to re-teach, move on, take a different approach, make grouping switches, etc. You can create levels to challenge a variety of ss and increase/decrease difficulty using the data #espechat
OOooooh! I love that idea! I am loving the doubling on this week. It is really making me look at assessment from all angles and allowing much deeper reflection. #espechat#pechat
A2: Feedback can also provide information to shape school policies. I know I use bullying feedback very constructively to improve the learning climate school wide #espechat
I don't always pre-test, but that test could save you a lot of instructional time. Imaging if you taught something to kids that they all already knew. Seems like a waste of time. Could have done something more valuable. #espechat
A3) Big class sizes where I teach always seem to be a hindrance to the feedback process. Seems to just not be enough of me to get around sometimes #physed#espechat
A3) Time (lack of), lack of experience with the activity (new activity with no background). I'm finding my biggest issue is that I don't always document the feedback. It's nice to show what you've done. #espechat
A3: my biggest struggles doing it within my class sizes I work my tail off trying to get around to every kid multiple times but that is part of my motivation with the Gifs allowing them access with out me #espechat
A3 #espechat Barriers could be length of class time, class size, frequency of class, sometimes students just need to practice and experiment on their own. My role is to be the "Guide on the Side" and not the "Sage on the Stage" if that makes sense...
A3: Honestly, behaviors from other students require a big chunk of out attention and often times, feedback to students (activity related) gets put on the back burner. #espechat
A3 Sometimes when having an essential question at a whiteboard at each small sided game I get caught up with trying to help ss that I lose track of time and don’t get to all my courts/fields #espechat
a3) My microphone helps me in my loud gym. When I work at my second school, there is no sound system. If I see something across the gym, I can't quickly get their attention without running up to them. #espechat
A3: Sometimes differentiation means that I can provide immediate feedback to some but not all at a given moment. Same is to be said for behaviors that arise. #espechat
My next step is to use @plickers to self assess and create some type of form/handout (for myself) to show that I visited Ss who needed help and what I worked on/provided feedback for. #espechat
Good point. Need to work more on peer to peer feedback. I like to try to get around to spend at least a little time with each student each day though #espechat
Yes, knowledge is know what to do but wisdom is to apply it in the correct manner. Having a way to show what you're teaching (providing feedback) goes a long way to bring credibility to what we are teaching in #physed#espechat
A3) When I first started teaching, a barrier was that I was so focused on the lesson that I didn't focus on what the students were doing. It took a while before I was comfortable enough to focus on the students. #espechat
A3 time and student behaviors. Lessons that have levels and are “gamified” keep kids more on task. Also allows me to check in with Ss to see what level they’re on (gives me feedback) so I can give them feedback #espechat
A3 #espechat "Be PROLIFIC not perfect." Perfection stifles creativity! Let kids make mistakes and guide them along. Often times they come up with an easier way to do something than the way I would of approached teaching them!
I'm jealous of the ways of PE in the midwest...it was the same in Iowa when I lived/taught there. We need to get with the program on the east coast #espechat
A3 #espechat "Be PROLIFIC not perfect." Perfection stifles creativity! Let kids make mistakes and guide them along. Often times they come up with an easier way to do something than the way I would of approached teaching them!
Example: today, students had to get all three members of their long jump rope group to 5 jumps. When they had 5, they came to me to get their next level (10 jumps, 15, etc). Couldn’t believe how into it they were. #espechat
A4 #espechat Approach problems as opportunities to try something new! You've been dealt a particular hand...you can't change that, but you can play that hand in a variety of ways. Our attitude determines our altitude...is your glass half full?
A4 Organizing your time well, if you didn’t get to see a group of ss make it a point to see them the next day/time. Experimenting with tech that might work for you to be efficient (for me at the moment it’s plagnets but would love to build a numbers scoring rubric) #espechat
a4) I keep a sign in my room that says (5:1). It reminds me to give five positive feedback comments for each negative feedback I give. The students have no idea why it's on the wall. #espechat
A4: Be as organized as possible. Create activities where feedback is part of the process. Ss give each other feedback so it comes from someone when you have high numbers. #espechat
A4: I think we need to understand that feedback can provide us with data, but not to rush to a decision. Try things in small doses, and constantly adjust, reflect and question. #espechat

A4: class size may be a permanent struggle so being organized and manage how you will assess and provide feedback will definitely try the checklist @PhysEdApps and I are talking about #espechat
So true, Megyn...organization is so helpful, especially if you lack "time" to give the feedback you want, perhaps a better organizational layout or transition will buy you a few extra minutes! #espechat
This is where my daily reflection comes in, I make note of it and throw it onto a post-it, mark up my roll sheet with a symbol or use a tool such as google keep with colors representing level of priority #espechat
A5) Technology like BAM Video can easily be used to provide immediate feedback. Another idea, a system for Ss to have the Teacher come and watch (in order to provide feedback) so they feel apart of the process. #espechat

A5. Find mediums that allows feedback in a positive safe setting. Students need to feel safe to explore and fail. Multiple attempts at learning to show growth. #espechat

What was the mistake that was done by Kaal Brahma at Satlok?
What was the mistake that was done by Devi Durga and all of us that led us to be eliminated from Satlok along with Devi Durga, Kaal and his 21 Brahmands?

Our nature is to hit the gas pedal
and go from A-Z with ideas. In reality, it is not always the best thing. Drive the neighborhood slowly and observe #espechat
On organization - A well planned out day is key to making my lessons flow smoothly. Think transitions! How Ss get/put away equip, get into groups, move from a teaching space to an activity space, get tech, etc...all must happen seamlessly. #espechat
I wonder if I made an "I FAILED in PE today" sticker could work change a mindset. It would work if a few people understood the concept and started to drive the task. #espechat
A5 Peer feedback provides immediate results but at the same time ss need to practice it alongside an established positive culture. The idea of BAM video + small sided game for “x” time + time to watch playback with team to catch strategies being used #espechat
I will ask students to look for a particular skill like the follow-through. If their partner sees it, they tell get a point. Partners work together to earn a total score. Scores don't mean anything. #espechat
I was considering the same type of thing. Everyday I ask my own kids what mistake they made today. I also share one of mine. It has helped them with the growth mindset. #espechat
Q6: What are some activities that you have experienced that offer immediate feedback that is build into the activity. Example: falling off a skateboard or shooting free throws #espechat
Sometimes explaining your fails in kid language helps with topics that make things relatable. Teaching is storytelling with relatable concepts helps guide instruction. #espechat
A6: First thing that comes to mind is close-range 1-handed basketball shooting. If they shoot it properly with the shooting hand it drops through the basket beautifully #espechat
A6. Surfing. The best knowledge from a 60 year old surfer. You suck for your first 5 years then you develop skill and ride the wave with the flow State. The rest of the time you just keep searching for the next solid ride. #espechat
I have the partners after each throw say why they missed and how to change what the thrower did to be successful next time. Ex: if to high or low, how do you change where you let go. #espechat
