Let's start by introducing yourself and sharing you last #mistake you made in class, school, or whatever. Of course share what you learned what it as well... #ATTITUDE#NVedchat
I’m Kevin. I teach biology and Earth/Space Science for @LCHSBears in Indianapolis, IN. I’m made so many mistakes in education that I won’t even consider listing them. #NVedchat
Snehal from @CTEinCCSD@ClarkCountySch here and my most recent mistake was accidently sending a "reply all" instead of just a "reply". Luckily it was only to family, but all of them... #NVedchat
Terri Cullen Associate Professor @oueducation Sometimes I talk too much and I want to grab the words and pull them back in and say the wrong thing. #nvedchat
Kyle in Las Vegas, last mistake was not moving the oven rack down when baking some fish and had to douse it in lots of malt vinegar and hot sauce to cover up the burnt taste, learned to double check the oven racks #nvedchat
A1: Hello everyone! My name is Natalie, and this is my first Twitter chat ever. I am from Oklahoma, and am still in the process of becoming a teacher; however, I am sure I will make many my first year. #NVedchat

Denise Snow teacher of web design in Las Vegss. Last mistake not meeting clients deadline with students as the design team. I need to ask for students help more often #nvedchat
Hi! My name is Justine and I am an early childhood education undergrad at the university of Oklahoma! The last #mistake I had was during teaching I let myself get overwhelmed by students behaviors instead of trying to figure out why they were doing them! #NVedchat#ATTITUDE

I once accidentally deleted the gradebook for my ENTIRE first semester of teaching. I NEVER relied on the computer alone again!

Hi all. I'm Steve in Valparaiso, IN (outside Chicago. Today I realized I didn't proofread a test makeup I wrote, and one question turned out to be very confusing for my Alg II students. #nvedchat
I'm Caelin Bennett, I am majoring in elementary education at the University of Oklahoma. The last mistake I made in class was misinterpreting a due date an turning in an assignment late. I learned to stay organized and be on top of my school work. #NVedchat#ATTITUDE #3043
A1: I believe my students would bc I try to make education hands on a fun each day. S understand how it will help them later in life. If it is fun for me and for them then education is flowing a ton! #nvedchat No fun= no retention
a1) I do have an attendance policy.. J/K.. I think people respect how much I love what i teach and how I excited I get! (even when I make mistakes) #attitude#nvedchat
R1: I think a lot of my kids would because I try to treat my students with respect and have a good rapport with most of them. It’s not always about content, it’s about relationships. #NVedchat
Teaching PE at a behavior school, I have an issue with students that sneak out of where they are supposed to be to try to come to my class, I like to think it' because of me... #nvedchat
A1: I hope so! I show students how much I care about them and make them feel like family. Students don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care @CoyMillerElem#marchmadnesspd#MMMTeam6#NVedchat
A1- I believe that the students in my classroom would show up to school even if they did not have to! Children are excited about education if you build relationships with them and teach your curriculum with project based learning based on the children’s interest #NVedchat
A1: I think asking JH kids to come to school if they don't have to is a hurdle no matter how awesome a teacher we are. But they like to come. #NVedchat

A1-I always made learning fun so my students HATED to miss my class. In fact some of them & their parents said that my class was the reason they showed up. #NVedchat
Welcome to all the newbies to the group and to our pre-service members. Would love to see you Wednesday with #IDedchat at 10:00 pm EST, and Thursday for ##INeLearn at 9:00 pm. Two other GREAT groups to grow your #PLN. #NVedchat
R1: I've been fortunate to fall in with the #MTBoS so my math classes are a little more dynamic maybe than my students are used to. If that keeps them coming back, then cool. PLTW kids love to play. #nvedchat
A1: Hello! I'm an Elementary Education major, pursuing a mid-level in Math! A mistake I've made in school was misinterpreting expectations for an assignment and learned to always confirm with my professor on what is expected. #ATTITUDE#NVedchat#EIPT3043
Q1- For all experienced educators what are the tricks you use to keep a positive attitude and allows you to be the best version of a teacher you can be year after year? #NVedchat#attitude
A1 its a good goal, they enjoy some activities but I find it hard with large class sizes to keep everyone happy. So I offer options & keep learning new ways to engage them #NVedchat
A1- I would hope students would show up to my class. I would try my best to make class interesting by being very interactive with my students and creating a positive atmosphere that keeps them wanting to come to class. #NVedchat#attitude #3043
Chrissy Pavesich #mistakes happen all the time learning from them and keeping a great #ATTITUDE with a huge sense of humor! Bought stability balls for students to use instead of chairs. How many times is the word balls funny when said out loud? #NVedchat
A2: Excitement during my first year? More like stress and wondering what I was doing! Things obviously got better and I look forward to school more today than I did then simply because I'm better at my craft #nvedchat

Routines are great, but throwing in surprises every now and then keep students on their toes and give them a healthy sense of #fomo! Even small things like having class outside in nice weather seem like the most thrilling event in the world given the typical school day! #nvedchat
I used to have a professor who kept a running list of words she messed up on and came out dirty.. I was proud to be invited to add one to the list! Mistakes are a rite of passage as a teacher! #nvedchat

A2: Learning. Always learning creates an energy you can feel. Every year is like my first because there is no filing cabinet of lesson plans in my room. #NVedchat
Q2- Although I am still in the process of becoming a teacher, I believe that when a teacher is able to find connections from the concepts to their students life they are able to find more passion in their work! #NVedchat
R2: and sometimes, you have to just create a fun time no matter what. It might mean you scrap the plan for the day because, hey, you just have to. #NVedchat
A2: I keep learning from PD's and conferences. Also making connections with other teachers to keep the fire burning. Makes it more fun too if you know others are doing similar things. #nvedchat
Q2- I think you can keep the passion by participating in self care exercises, professional development and continual research, and lastly remembering who you do this for and why kids are so amazing. #NVedchat#attitude
A1: Building an engaging and inclusion environment in my classroom, I believe students would come to school even if they weren't required! Making education fun is all about knowing your students interests and translating that to classroom curriculum. #NVedchat#EIPT3043
a2) I never quit learning.. i Just went to #EdCampOKC and made sure to go to some sessions that I knew I needed to learn about it.. even if uncomfortable! Better me means better teacher! #nvedchat
As a current student, the relationships a teacher makes with me truly makes the difference for the motivation to want to come to class! I love this. #NVedchat
hi #nvedchat. I'm Sara, a K teacher in Lake Tahoe, NV. Sorry to be joining so late. I try to maintain my own excitement and passion by finding new projects to take on, new roles at my site, new ways to engage my Ss.
R2: Much the same as my A1 - I keep learning from really smart, really awesome teachers. I can't wait to get to school tomorrow to help my students learn thru an activity I've got planned that grew out of something I picked up from my PLN. #nvedchat
A2: Set professional goals to ensure continued growth and development. Be willing to try new things. We need to make sure that we don't teach the same year on repeat, but we alter things each year to meet Ss needs #nvedchat
A2- by always learning. If I'm not learning new things to bring back to my classroom, how can I expect my Ss to learn and grow. Also by getting out of my comfort zone #lifelonglearning#NVedchat
@Snehalstocks I agree, working at a Title I school Ss are often excited to return from break bc school is an escape from home and offers new opportunities and experiences that parents sometimes aren't able to provide #nvedchat

I learn everyday from my students and peers at school. I learn by following great educators like those here on Twitter. Not a day goes by that I don’t find something I can use that’s new. #NVedchat
Love it! Imagine if you played music as students walked into class and they broke out it a dance with the teacher! Their minds would be electrified! #NVedchat
Will you be there? I always have the best intentions to do sessions non stop but end up seeing the #PLN in real life and spending two hours in the lobby talking shop and catching up #nvedchat
@TayNicole0403 I couldn't have said it better. Finding new #pbl projects, novels to read w Ss, or lesson plans that inspire me will keep me passionate and excited about teaching #nvedchat

a3) I make sure to not allow my social media to only be populated by people who agree with me.. I have to interact with lots of ideas, just like I do in IRL. #nvedchat
A3 Social Media has affected my teaching so much and for the positive. I was a very reluctant tweeter, but @AAEdVoice convinced me that it would support the PLN I had been building. I learn so much from all of you and love being engaged #nvedchat
Hi Maggie. I'm rereading 'Who Moved My Cheese' George Porter asked, “What would you do if you were not afraid?” I was terrified when my school district switched to Microsoft but now I anticipate change. #nvedchat
My Twitter is tailored to what I want to see, not based on algorithms and the BS that so much of FB has become. I purposely deactivate FB for a week at a time every so often to get away #nvedchat
A2- I think if you continue to perfect your teaching and change things up year to year it will keep teaching exciting. Always have an open mind to learn something new from your peers and incorporate it into your classroom. #NVedchat #3043
Yes, we need to all add to the conversation.. we can't let our PLN become pinterest where no one adds and we just keep recycling the same ideas. #nvedchat
@SaraHolm15 does a great job seeking out new resources and projects to keep her kinder Ss engaged all year long- I see it everyday on Instagram! #nvedchat
R3: with that said, the info I find on Twitter is so enriching for what I do in my class. I share out ideas and work from my Ss. I share articles, strategies, tech, etc. it’s a plethora of things we can use with Ss. #NVedchat
A3-I use social media to promote the positive of education. Too much negativity on social media about education and in generation. Rocking them out with Kindness on my tweets! #NVedchat
A3 #socialmedia has influenced my growth a lot in the last few years, it opens your world up so you can learn from a larger group & find like minded people to connect with #NVedchat
A3: Social media and my twitter PLN have been an injection of pure awesome energy. My friend @DrMaryHoward is like a lighthouse for those in need of great! #nvedchat
A3- I think social media and society do shape who we are in ways we don’t even know. I have a strong foundation, but it scares me at times how negative and shameful it can be of everyone. Additionally, how kids are exposed to this at a young age! #NVedchat#attitude
R3: About a year ago I flushed a lot of negativity out of my follow list, and I learned to screen out stuff that had an adverse impact on my teaching. One of my best moves, maybe ever. #nvedchat
A4- To be able to find passion in every area for my students. By doing this I feel I will be able to reach all and step outside of my comfort zone! #NVedchat#EIPT3043
The only reason I keep it is because I live 2000 miles away from family and a lot o HS and college friends and it's a great way to stay connected, right until they post "inspirational" and/or political clickbait #nvedchat
A3- I keep social media to a minimum, I've gotten to where I spend more time off screen and interacting f2f, this would be due to busy work schedule, #robotlife, and #farmlife#NVedchat
A4: I have really been focusing on my ability to listen with the intent to understand and not to respond. I have also been trying to use more questions when coaching teachers rather than telling #nvedchat
A4: Accepting that failure is not the end of the world, and accepting that what you do, even on your best day might not click with 100% of students (and definitely not with adults). #iamnotbeyonce#nvedchat
A4 I would like to continue to be more of a risk taker. Sometimes my fear of failure prevents me from trying out new things in the classroom. I want to take more risks for my students @CoyMillerElem#marchmadnesspd#MMMTeam6#NVedchat
A3- I wish I could have more energy! Kiddos deserve the world and I strive to always give them everything I have so they can accomplish whatever they set their minds to! #NVedchat#Attitude
A4: I wish I could leave school at school and enjoy life more at home. I have a beautiful 2 year old and handsome 8 week old that I love playing with. At times I feel I do more emails than tea parties #nvedchat
R4: There's about a million things I wish I was better at. I'm my own worst critic. The trick is to avoid becoming my own worst enemy. Top of the list is prioritizing work and avoiding time sucks. #nvedchat
a4) For me I have to let go of my mistakes.. I replay them again and again and I hold grudges against myself. Not good for growth! learn and move on! #nvedchat
Thanks for joining #NVedchat tonight. Don't forget to follow the awesome tweeters from tonight & continue the conversation all week long. See you next Monday!
A3: Being a millennial myself, I've learned that social media can have a positive and negative impact on your life, depending on how you let it influence your life. If you use it in a positive way, it can be a great resource for you and your classroom! #NVedchat#EIPT3043
A3 Social media helps me feed my flame. I can find like-minded people and have access to minds greater than my own to learn from. Fresh perspectives from beyond my personal circle of influence help me become my best me.
One of the main reasons I stepped away from admin at this point in my life, the extra hours and pay increased were not worth the time I missed with my kids and wife at home #nvedchat
A3 - 2 ❤️ @gcouros quote about making the positive so loud you can’t hear the negative I think this is the best part about #socialmedia you can share the good, celebrate the positive in education There are a lot of great teachers out there #CTEinCCSD@ClarkCountySch#nvedchat
I think you would appreciate "Classroom Chef" by @MrVaudrey & @Jstevens009. Regardless of subject or grade level, sounds like risk-taking is right in your wheelhouse. #nvedchat

A3: I'm still somewhat new to using social media to build my PLN, but it has helped me maintain a more positive outlook on the teaching profession. Other Ts energy and passion are contagious #NVedchat
A4 I wish I would take more deep breaths when I feel frustrated sometimes. I definitely need additional patience now and then. Telling myself to breathe and smile often will break me out of it and I can even laugh #nvedchat
Don't look at that as a millenial thing, one of the worst when it comes to negativity on social media is in his 70s... Just let the positive influences shine through more #nvedchat
Holy cow does 30 fly by on Monday night! Thanks #nvedchat. Awesome chat, as always. Thanks for letting me learn with you. Have a great week and I'll see you all next Monday.
A4: As a future educator, I'm pretty happy with what I've been learning in class about what kind of educator I want to become and am excited for the future! #NVedchat#EIPT3043
A4- Not to be a perfectionist and realize that not everyone teaches the same way I do. Not everyone has the same thoughts about education as I do, and I have to be ok with this. #NVedchat
You are stronger than you give yourself credit for @SnowVegas & a teacher I look to for guidance, advice & would love to collaborate more with #CareerTechEd#cteinccsd#NVedchat
Q4- I am not an official educator yet, but I am enjoying what I am learning in my classes and I am excited to begin my career! #NVedchat#attitude #3043
