A1: Teams come in all shapes and sizes - grade level, content, committee, competition, PLC - any time a group of people come together to do some type of work, you have a team. #txed
A1: working together to accomplish campus goals & recognizing it will take everyone (students, campus/district personal, parents, businesses) to accomplish the goals. #TXed
#TXED A1 in terms of education the "team" is EVERYONE responsible for the SAFETY and education of the students from the moment they step into the door or get dropped off, until they are picked up or dropped off the bus. Includes custodians, bus drivers, secretaries, etc..
A1 I think a team starts with your immediate cohorts, but expands to subjects or similar positions, then gets even larger, since your campus is your team too. Like family. #txed
A2- Collabotation, not only with your grade level, but with everyone on campus. Compassion for bypur team mates, know whatās going on with each other. And, there has to be a bit of compromise, in a team you canāt always make everyone happy. #txed
A2: Intrinsically motivated to keep learning & growing. Model transparency for kiddos. Ownership of self, prepared to collaborate, & willing to put kiddos first. Not only present but also in attendance. Be ready to contribute. See significance of role as educator. #txed
#txed A2 IMO Our Ss should describe the people around them in school with the #FruitsOfTheSpirit My goal each year is for my Ss to describe me with these words at the end of the year. #LoftyGoal
Love that! The āwhatever it takesā mentality is key - sometimes we have to pick up each others slack to make sure it happens. My team definitely has been stellar in this respect lately. š #txed
#txed
A2: Commitment, flexibility, dedication, willingness to speak up and share ideas, supporting one another, and desire to continue to learn new strategies (PD is important!)
A2: Knowing difference between inputing ideas in a google form & true collaboration where ideas are shared & barriers in learning are anticipated & minimized through proactively seeking solutions. Collaborative discussion about learning activities & delivery of instruction #txed
A3: Trust is difficult to build especially for those putting their ideas & themselves out there w/ a new team. This has been a struggle this year. Think that trust can be earned through integrity & consistently walking the walk not just talking the talk. #txed
A3 Listen to understand not to respond. Trust is huge. Have your āmatesā backs. Help one another out. Eventually the trust builds. Do not neglect each othersā needs. #TXed
A3 by establishing that Iļøt is safe to be open and vulnerable. We have to be encouraging and willing to hear criticism, itās not about us itās about the kids #commongoal#judgementfreezone#txed
A3- just be there for each other. Be there on the good, the bad, the ugly. We have to pick ourselves up and remind ourselves why we went into this profession. š #TXed
#txed A3 Trust = WALKING THE TALK Ss know when Trs are 2 faced, they also are aware of genuine praise, love, and kindness. Love the kids, BELIEVE in them, TRUST will be built.
A3: IMHO, building trust is the same whether work or personal - do what you say you will do, take ownership of mistakes, donāt continually repeat the same mistake, be honest but loving #txed
Have sent agenda ahead of time to allow meeting for collaboration. Team still stuck on idea of putting ideas into google doc. Iāve never been part of a team that truly collaborated, but Iād love for it to be true discussion of how to approach the learning & how to reflect. #TXed
A3 Listen to understand not to respond. Trust is huge. Have your āmatesā backs. Help one another out. Eventually the trust builds. Do not neglect each othersā needs. #TXed
We are discussing collaborative planning frequently on my campus - how to get past the āwhatā weāre going to teach to the āhowā and and creating new ideas specific to needs together. #txed
A3: I have come to realize that itās easier to talk about integrity than to live it & that the true test is my willingness to do the right thing even when it costs more than I want to pay. #txed
A4 One thing I have found to keep us all accountable is to delegate our tasks to the people with those strengths. I choose lesson plan writing. Others choose finding the resources, copying, anchor chart search, etc. We do what we feel we are good at. #TXed
A4: being consistent, setting goals and revisiting those goals to measure progress. Setting norms for your team and self! #justtryingtokeepemhonest is what we say lol #TXed
A4-Put a positive spin on it! I like how you did (blank)... I was thinking, have you ever tried (this)?
Those difficult conversations of constructive criticism are easier to handle when it starts with a + and you've got trust! #TXed
#txed A4 You must be willing to accept others telling you what you are doing wrong, and then use that to get better. 28th year to teach and I am far from the "Mary Poppins" of teachers. WE CAN ALL GET BETTER! Tell others how they can improve & role model.
A4: If dissension/dysfunction is present, accountability appears to go out the window. If thereās no trust, people cut corners. May seem insignificant, but kiddos suffer because of this. Any thoughts on how to ensure accountability/quality of practice when trust is absent? #txed
A4-Our mission is the kids. We have to constantly remind ourselves of that. Comments or suggestion are not to put us down, but to make sure we are doing what is best for kids. #TXed
I define it as follows: Knowing that someone will pick up your slack when you can't. Just like my West Avenue Tweeps have done for me tonight. Way to go TEAM! #neisdpln#txed
A4: Having the trust with your team to say, have you thought about trying it this way? Sometimes those are hard conversations, but if youāve built trust, and relationship, then it shouldnāt be a problem. Thereās no āIā in team. #txed
A4 set norms with your teams and find an accountability partner or two. Let them push you to be better. Ask for their honest feedback and mean it. #TXed
Recently wrote this blog post about what we do when expectation does not meet reality (and it often wonāt!) how do we fill the gap? Believing no one is out to get you is a great start!!! https://t.co/4wBFWV13AO#txed
Knowing when to step up and when to step back. Knowing your strengths and your weaknesses. Knowing how you can contribute and what you need support in. And then being open and honest to share that outloud for the greater good. Did I mention trust? #txed#neisdpln
#txed A4 I am truly blessed to work @GRHSNews Step through these arches and you are truly surrounded by greatness. When you work with amazing coworkers, you too will rise to their level.
A5: to keep communication open on your team, you have to be willing to share truth even when it is uncomfortable if it will benefit the team and the students #txed
A5: Communicstion is best between honest participants who both have a stake in the success of the communication. And when they honor the fact that God have us 2 ears and 1 mouth - listen more than we talk šš»ššš»#txed
A5: Constantly working through the cycle of change, conflict, & growth. Team is not there yet, but we need to be able to have open & honest conversations of how we can individually & collectively best meet the needs of all kiddos. Seeing big pictureā”ļøintended outcome. #txed
#txed A5 FACE TO FACE meetings > emails. To truly have great communications face to face WEEKLY meetings are needed. Unfortunately this takes away from PRECIOUS time the teacher needs while at school.
A5 teams are more willing to communicate when there is trust, and a clear vision. Thatās why I value in service so much before school, we come together as a staff and work on developing strong relationships with one another. #txed
A5 when thereās a glitch, go directly to the person. Get out of the office, get to know your teams on a personal level, show them who you are, be vulnerable. #TXed
A5 gosh, teams should use a variety of methods to communicate! Texts, meetings, emails, Voxer, collaborative docs and files, and old school face to face in the hall! #txed
You build it through your actions and by getting to know each other. #txed. I love to try and break bread with people. That's what we do with our families at school with first Fridays. We have to build trust with parents too. Fruit cups!!! #txed
A5: Just like with our students, it goes back to relationships! Everyone should be listened to and not just heard. Your idea may not be used, but if you feel like you are a contributing part of a team youāre not afraid to communicate your ideas. #txed
#txed A5 Complainers soon become the complaint of others. If you are in education and you continually gripe, are you in it for the kids? Start EVERY DAY by CHOOSING to be POSITIVE! This is my cycle of joy (it's kind of contagious)
Move from congenial to collegial. My teachers call me out all the time. I expect them to. When we question each other in a respectful and professional way, we push the system forward. #txed#neisdpln#weareinittogetherandidonthaveallthesolutions
A6 Listen. Figure out where each person on your team is in this journey. Know how to approach them, help them, what to take in from them, build them up based on strengths, fill in for their weaknesses. Itās a lot like learning their love language. #TXed
A6 spend time together, be honest and sincere in your intentions. Extend grace to one another and let things go once itās been talked about it. Laugh laugh and laugh! #TXed
A6-Set a goal or mission. Set norms and follow them. Make it a habit to do true collaborating. Listen to others and share ideas. You are better when you can help others be better. #TXed
A6:Take care of each other. Love in someone when theyāre sad, listen when they need to vent, celebrate everything no matter how small. Become a family! #txed

A6: listen, be supportive, open mind, try to stay positive even in the toughest times.. thatās when you find your your strengths in each other! Never give up on your team! #TXed
Hire for attitude and train for success. If you have people who enjoy what they do and how they fit into a team, the work becomes easier. Things just work. #txed
A6: Do not let gossip come between you and your team. Respect one another not to talk behind each otherās backs. Have a communication system set up so everyone stays in the loop. #txed
