Hi all! Kim from So Cal. Digital Learning Coach supporting 1200 Ts, 25,000 Ss, at 34 sites! At teacher just thanked me for being the best resource in our district! That is quite the compliment! #CUEchat
Jonathan Synnott, Tech TOSA for the PUHSD. Had a great day helping our newly hired teachers with some of the apps we use daily to improve instruction. #cuechat#WeAreCUE
Welcome, welcome, welcome everyone! My name is Kristin. I'm a Tech TOSA from #LLCSD and I serve as CUELA's Communications Editor. Something good - I officially started working with my new students @ four different school sites! #cuechat
Hello #cuechat -ters! This is April 2nd/3rd T in SoCal. #SGVCUE board member. Got a new S this week who needs some extra support - flex seating is doing wonders for him!!
A1) hello everyone I am Estela Gomez teacher in the inland empire. Starting week 3 of school and loving my 5th graders. Using #eduprotocals this week has made this week amazing and it’s only Tuesday #cuechat
A1: I went to a NGSS training (offered through UCR and the CA Science Project) - it was all about science note booking. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED that training. I also went to CUE LDI and learned a bunch about CUE. I also took to Twitter & did a lot of reading. #cuechat#wearecue
A1 Attended #ISTE18, got my Google L1 certification, passed my Microsoft Certified Educator test, #MEC courses, and was chosen as a #MIEExpert along with Twitter #PLN learning and some YouTube. #CUEChat
Hello everyone. I'm Darren Alcala. Tech Coach/TOSA for Cucamonga School District. Excited for our district plans on digcit, coding and our Student Media Festival again. #cuechat
A1: I had a great time teaching and learning at the Google Summer Camp put on by @MenifeeUSD and @RCOE. I was motivated to attend to support my Tech TOSA colleagues as well as a few of our teachers who were presenting. #cuechat#WeAreCUE
A1 Voxer book study, ISTE, #DitchSummit, #HiveSummit. I want to keep my skills fresh. I also presented for #EdTechTeam and ran a Digital Learning Task Force in my district. #CUEchat
A1: attend a Gilder Lehrman seminar, Read education books, and several online summits. I love to keep learning new things to better myself in the classroom. #cuechat#wearecue
Hey #cuechat. Corey, Instructional Technology TOSA from Orange County popping in late. Had an awesome week of presenting tech to district teachers last week. #ggusdtech
A1. Spent some time this summer collaborating with teacher leaders. Need to stay connected what our teacher leaders are doing in the classroom. #cuechat
We met! Probably couldn't miss me in the cowboy hat and flannel. @TrPatel20, if you are at the coaches meeting, will have to show you the video of @sportillo1357! She ROCKED a cow costume. #edcampchino#cuechat

@TrPatel20, @christyn_a, @EdcampChino, @TrPatel20, @sportillo1357
It was fun! Well, maybe not the tests, but everything else! Started a blog and a YouTube channel, did more writing, which I love, so work-related, but not work. #cuechat
A2: First-pace myself, Second-don't neglect family time, Third-Still make time for me, Fourth-talking with @tbed63 @ a #leadlearner event & getting ideas for #choiceboards#cuechat
A2: Summer professional learning has to be personal - especially since I am doing it on my own time and dime. I picked experiences and readings that I wanted and not something that was shoved down my throat by mandate. #cuechat#wearecue
A2. This summer was composed of 3 PD days.Reminded me of how it feels to be in their shoes and receiving PD! Had PD for certificated, classified, and brand new hires. Make learning relatable, engaging, and build connections to further support. #cuechat#wearecue#iacue#cuela
A2: Even though I didn’t get to attend her session, I appreciate @historysandoval sharing her Google Drawing presentation. I’ve referred to it several times. #wearecue#cuechat
A2. Technology needs to enhance the learning process. We can’t just pile more on a teacher’s plate because it is shiny. Classroom teachers already have so much to do. #cuechat
A2: Biggest takeaway for me from my summer learning was from @HeydenTech 's session at #IEGoogleCamp on Google Sheets; she taught me some really useful tips and tricks that I'm now able to pass on to others. #cuechat#WeAreCUE
Had a blast. So many innovative ideas related to meaningful use of technology as well as teaching pedagogies related to best practices! Learned so much #cuechat#iacue#cueLA#WeAreCue
A2: I am obsessing over problem diving with https://t.co/q7yMT7e7Pf the Stanford model too. Finding the best solutions effectively. What a way to make an effective team. #cuechat
Hello #IACUE. My name is Jaime Anaya and I'm a 5th grade teacher at Romoland Elementary. This is my first time participating in a twitter group chat. #cuechat

Agreed! And I just realized you created the Eduprotocol Book Study that I have been referring to for our staff book study coming up. Thank you so much for sharing!!! #wearecue#cuechat
A2: the NGSS workshops through @JurupaUSD and @cascience dove into lessons and allowed teachers hands on learning - it was definitely a STEM experience I will not forget (I got to dissect owl poop :) #CUEchat
@judyblakeney here from SoCal, just got back into the classroom after a 3 yr TOSA role. Getting back into gear with new grade level and content! #CUEchat#WeAreCUE
Agreed. Using technology to create meaningful learning experiences is key. That's been my motto as we go through the blended and personalized learning model in our district! #cuechat#iacue#cueLA#WeAreCue
Yes I did meet her. I did not know her twitter name! Everyone at #edcampchino18 was so wonderful! I felt so welcome! I hope to attend again next year. #cuechat.

Q2) thinking about how pockets of innovation seen across my district can lead to and maybe inspire a more systemic culture of innovation. Drawing connections between culturally relevant curriculum, student centered lesson design, & interest-based learning at all levels #cuechat
A2) giving students a voice and ownership of theirs learning is key. Having them be the drivers and us providing the vehicle for their learning. Some amazing #eduprotocol and #flipgrid amazing vehicles for student ownership and voice #cuechat
Q3: What kinds of opportunities do you think "grab" educators and get them involved in professional learning outside of their workplace? #cuechat#wearecue
A1) I went to a day of the https://t.co/lPo6b5WfML PD, 2 weeks of TEEM learning how to be a better math teacher, working on my MA, and learning through Twitter, of course #CUEchat
A3: I look for opportunities that are no cost/low cost. I'm not in a position where I can have all of my expenses reimbursed - and conferences get EXPENSIVE. If I find something that's FREE or minimal cost, I'm more likely to go on my time off. #cuechat
(joining late do to soccer practice) I'm Kim, math teacher at Ethan A. Chase MS in Romoland, and so many good things happened this week it's hard to choose! #CUEchat
Q3: What kinds of opportunities do you think "grab" educators and get them involved in professional learning outside of their workplace? #cuechat#wearecue
A3) Ones that are connected to content, pedagogical, meaningful and interactive. I like the ones that are not a 'one size fits all' model! We model what we want to see in the classroom even at PDs! #cuechat#iacue#cueLA#WeAreCue
Q3: What kinds of opportunities do you think "grab" educators and get them involved in professional learning outside of their workplace? #cuechat#wearecue
A3: no cost/low cost. I am not reimbursed for PD outside of my workplace. I love learning new things so as long as it is in my budget I want to go. #cuechat#wearecue
A3 Free with food and prizes! Seriously, though, I appreciate events like @EdcampUSA#EdCamps where you are directly involved in the #PD, not just talking heads, on topics YOU ask for! #CUEchat
Q3: What kinds of opportunities do you think "grab" educators and get them involved in professional learning outside of their workplace? #cuechat#wearecue
A3: I think the kinds of opportunities that grab educators are applications, teaching strategies, or programs that save them time, energy, stress, and at the same time push student achievement to greater heights. #cuechat#WeAreCUE
Greetings everyone here at #cuechat. I'm Erica a middle school science teacher from Los Angeles. I created all my videos this week that will go along with my discussion board. #edpuzzle
A1: Hey this @MsVgodinez jumping in a tad late but I had a relaxing summer reflectingand reconnecting with people #IRL did some PD sessions with some of my #digitalvagos#CUECHAT
UCR Extension Center offers some great learning opportunities for teachers outside of the work place. This fall I will be starting the Professional Certificate Program in STEM. I'm very excited. #cuechathttps://t.co/wnoM3ngjc5
A3: I think choice plays a huge role. An event where people feel there is opportunity for them to design their learning path for breadth or depth is a drawing factor #cuechat
A3: interest and skill level
Ts new to tech feel intimidated when they don't understand something...When Ts can see how it connects to standards/curriculum and it doesn't seem difficult to execute they will be more on board to explore it #CUEchat
I love using @edpuzzle to create videos and questions to go along with it that really get students thinking deeply! Thanks for sharing! #cuechat#iacue#cueLA#WeAreCue
A3. I think a key piece is if they go with a friend/colleague! We want someone to collaborate with and share in the learning experience. #cuechat#wearecue
Q3: What kinds of opportunities do you think "grab" educators and get them involved in professional learning outside of their workplace? #cuechat#wearecue
A3) what makes me seek out PD experiences outside of work? Leaving with experiences you can immediately use, having colleagues attend (peer pressure), and knowing that other like-minded people will share your passion! And make you think, like, um...#cuechat ?
A3. PD outside of the school setting should provide choice and allow teachers to pursue their own interests, at their own pace, kinda the same opportunities that we should afford our students. #cuechat
Experiences that #gamify learning and that encourage #hardfun are quintessential to bringing educators in for #PD. Establishing a supportive #pln is also key! FYI--mine rocks! #SchoologyAMB#cuechat
I think this is across the board. I don't know many teachers in my local area who know the amazing PD and opportunities that @cueinc offers! The events the affiliates put on alone - so much great learning! #cuechat
Q1: What types of "professional learning" opportunities did you involve yourself in this summer? What motivated you to do so? I completed my leading edge certification because I wanted to learn the why behind what works online and what doesn't #cuechat
A3: I think If something grabs them by their passion or strength they’re hooked. Being in a tribe of like-minded educators hungry for more is also a driving factor #wearecue hooked me at #cue18 lives the vibe and energy.#CUEchat
Q3: What kinds of opportunities do you think "grab" educators and get them involved in professional learning outside of their workplace? #cuechat#wearecue
I love this! Interest-driven PD should be supported and encouraged! Let teachers decide what they need to learn about, then help them and learn with them. #cuechat
That's one thing I really built on this year - finding my #teachertribe. I am so lucky to have such amazing people to reach out to - both locally and digitally - to help me in growing as a new Tech TOSA! #cuechat
A3: I think the types of PDs that grab educators attention are the ones where attendees can get strategies to implement in the class the next day. Series of breakout sessions are also very attractive because it's like a goody bag of sessions! #iacue#cuela#cuechat
This is a great idea! I attended my first @EdcampUSA this year and it was definitely a different experience than the CUE and GAFE Summits I've attended. There were more real conversations about what was going on in classrooms like mine in different districts. #cuechat
A4: OK. Son calmed down. Affiliates build into local groups/districts w/ tech fairs, coffee breaks, and meetups. Make sure to check @cueinc for affiliate events (& affiliate websites for events.) #cuechat
A4: I appreciate @IACUE Tech Fair, but I only learned about it when I started working at a larger district. Maybe personally reaching out to those smaller districts. #wearecue#cuechat
Twitter is a great place to start! I started by lurking in Twitter chats - now look at me...moderating one! It's a great place to connect with people outside of our own district bubble. Especially people who get it! #cuechat
A1: I bought a writing book this summer and I was so lucky to be accepted into the Facebook book club where the author herself hosted daily "writing camp." She explained the strategies in her book and it really brought the ideas to life. #cuela#iacue#cuechat#writingstrategies
A5: I think it's really important to recognize the "unknowns" and to give "new blood" the opportunity to develop their skills as presenters and future leaders within the CUE organization. Affiliates can help cultivate new talent and really build from within. #cuechat#wearecue
#cuechat#wearcue A3a I think it’s noise that pulls educators to #reimaginePD outside their workplace.. the stories of that Saturday #EdCamp or like #EdCampHOT in Waco, a different kind of space that invites movement
A5 I loved the EdTech Coaches meeting where we met in EdCamp style. Maybe more local EdCamp-like events to collaborate and learn from nearby districts? As a new hybrid #Office365 and #Google district, it was helpful to hear from others. #CUEchat
Yes! This is something our affiliate has talked about too. We need to make those connections with the smaller districts, charter schools and even private schools that are in our local area. All are connections waiting to happen. :) #cuechat
there is also the T aspect - how tech is integrated in the classroom by a T is so different from learning from a TOSA or a push-in model (right, @KristinOropeza :)
Even having T tech leaders who have their own classroom is different from having an onsite coach #CUEchat
A5) I think we need to get ore feedback from people within our own affiliates. That way we have a true understanding of what people want and how we can support them or involve them! Nothing like some good feedback! How can we help you? #cuechat#iacue#cueLA#WeAreCue
Don't plan too many buy enough to draw people in. Put it through all SM outlets, including Facebook and Insta because many members don't use Twitter. Ours are about every other month to every 3 months. #cuechat
We @IACUE are hoping to have more get-togethers like this! You are all more than welcome to come and network and share with others! Hoping for a good turn out! #cuechat#iacue#cueLA#WeAreCue

A5: connect with and develop relationships with surrounding affiliates to share all the powerful knowledge from each membership! Let’s collaborate. And nurture relationships within to find and encourage members strengths #CUEchat
Love this! Thanks for sharing So pleased you said that. Members need to know that you care... that you truly want to help grow their capacity in any way necessary! #cuechat#iacue#cueLA#WeAreCue#cuechat
I think it's great when the affiliates work together. So much more can get accomplished when we pool our resources. And making new acquaintances isn't half bad either. :) #cuechat

#cuechat#wearecue The meme reminds me of my 2 yo granddaughter Lily. It’s obvious to all, except her, how badly she needs to sleep. I like learning experiences that bring on that feeling. So cool and engaging you can’t let go.
