Clearview Middle School used #Flipgridfever to allow new students to view a welcome message from each staff member. It was truly awesome and got the kids totally excited for school.
A1: I use a lot of digital tools, & each has it's function & role in my classes, but Google Slides has to be the most versatile for me to use as collaboration, feedback, etc. ! LOVE Slides, the Swiss Army Knife of G Suite! #MakeItReal#gttribe

A2) Last year I made a more conscious effort to use Algebra tiles, and had great results. The visual/manipulative aspect help made abstract concepts more concrete.
A3: My fav non digital tool has to be #sketchnotes & #sketchnotesGO (graphic organizers to scaffold Ss new to #Sketchnotes or who need extra support. Love using brain science with art and content to make learning STICK and be FUN! #MakeItReal
Hey! I’m Bethany from MO popping in super late tonight. I teach high school Social Studies, edtech teacher prep, and college Social Studies classes. I’m also an #edtech blogger and author of Illuminate: Technology Enhanced Learning! #MakeItReal

A3) COMEDY - I constantly make jokes in my classroom (my students don't think many are funny) in an effort to create a classroom setting that in comfortable and that students enjoy. It also lets my students see my REAL personality.
The Real A3: #EDUProtocols like the Frayer A Friend are great! Ss can take that information to create a Kahoot over the 4 Ss they interview. Then we have @GetKahoot s we can play at the end of the period throughout the first semester at least. #MakeItReal
A1: I can’t choose just one! I love @Edpuzzle for flipped videos, @quizlet Live for 100% engagement and collaboration, @HeadsUp for fun review, @InsertLearning for embedding questions, resources, discussions in primary sources, the list goes on! #makeitreal
A3b: Music that goes along with your content (if that's possible) also helps relationship building. Going to try some Yoga breathing with Ss this year to help with stress, lack of sleep, and all the fun teenagers experience at school. #MakeItReal
A3: Our family connection meetings at the start of the year build strong relationships with my families, I get to build on that all year and responsive classroom strategies help with that too! #makeitreal
A2: I love using application games like these https://t.co/SBR7OyaNpr in my Government classes. I also love huge post-it notes displayed around my classroom for sharing info learned and what needs to be revisited, examples and non-examples of content, etc #makeitreal
A2: not really digital by online - trying to introduce mindfulness into the math classroom with #mathitations, mindful math-centric breathing routines that incorporate mathematical vocabulary and images https://t.co/7uLgm7WIIJ#makeitreal
A3: I “rap” about course concepts when we get stuck on something to help make it “stick,” I enjoy being goofy and having fun in my classroom! #makeitrealhttps://t.co/Ah5BmWXfk7
A1) @Notability. I teach sketchnoting and annotation as skills, incorporate visual learning with art and photography, and ask students to include their own notes & resources. Students can continue to add- there is no limit! #MakeItReal
A3) we dialogue on paper. Students tell me what they want feedback on, rather than me guessing. They write down questions, I respond. It’s informal and shows personality too. This strategy works in any discipline! #MakeItReal
