Great advice- here are a few more-
Turning the head too far will cause the IJ and carotid to overlap- less turn separates them better. Look at landmarks before using US. All advances- wire and catheters- should be smooth and easy or something is wrong.
Medical prefixes are added to the beginning of a word root to modify its meaning.
