Yes. Every day there is a new, immediately pressing, demand on our time in June. It’s exhausting and hard to find energy for kindness which is desperately needed. #bfc530
#BFC530 To address community needs start within, reach out. Within is a clothes closet, career service, counseling and faculty relief account. Outside is community link responsive to state activism and emergency needs.
We have lots of service clubs. Ss are involved at many different levels within the community. We also have an active food pantry and community garden. #bfc530

We start w/game to show how we all "play" under different rules, ,a storyteller shares variety of stories of the world, kids present their biome zoos (environment/culture) ending w/students sharing parts of their heritage #bfc530
Community Service is 1 of our cornerstones. Our students did over 5900 hours of community service. We also raised over $8k for Pennies for Patients through r SCA #bfc530
Food drives, clothing drives, holiday gift drives
Seniors get into athletic events for free.
Our school is the sole voting place in town as well as the venue for town meetings.

We have service clubs that work iwth the deaf, with an orphanage, & who organize collections of food, water, clothes & medecine whenever we have a natural disaster (at least once a year). #bfc530
@DartmouthHS does a lot with the local community! Our Unified Arts Program provides intern students to assist in Pre-K & K classrooms, NHS puts on an annual Senior Sweetheart Dance, Athletic teams provide camps for youth teams...just a few ways we meet needs of community! #BFC530

Great opp for some PBL. One of my brilliant MS T friends has students research such things as "How could we spend $250 in grant money to make the best impact on hunger in our community?" Students research options, devise proposals, "winning" grant actually happens! #bfc530
We have installed a “Little Library” outside our school this year. We have books, non perishable food items, and hygiene items in our box. It has been a huge hit since we installed it! Some folks have even left us thank you notes. Love our community!#bfc530

We have participated in clothing, toy, food drives. Around the holidays we collect for the community & always keep our own needy families in mind. Our Ss have volunteered at the food bank & we’ve done fundraising for organizations as well. #BFC530

#bfc530 Each December, we have Commnity Round Up. It is an all day event, during which canned food is collected throughout town, organzized at the high school, boxed up, and brought to food pantries. The entire community gets involved. #rsd13ct

Our neighborhood middle and high school both have food pantries. And I LOVE that my daughter's crew team raises enough money to provide a "scholarship" for any student who wants to row but can't afford it. #bfc530
Our school holds food drives to help fill local food pantry and during the holiday season, sponsor a senior citizen dance, and other things as needs arise #bfc530
This year because we read Wishtree and the One and Only Ivan, my class did chores at home and we were able to adopt 3 African animals. It was really cool. #bfc530

Pt.2: We also have a local food closet that donates food bags every Friday for a number of families. There is another organization that donates shoes for students in the Fall and Spring and coats for the Winter. We are blessed with a giving community!#bfc530
We have a wonderful afterschool program funded by a local outreach with lots of engaging activity choices like cooking, legos, outdoor adventures, etc. Many kids participate and for working families it’s a huge support to have a safe fun free place for kids to be. #bfc530

We have had a free shopping experience for the refugee families around the holidays, a prom dress giveaway, a winter wear drive in the fall, all students have free breakfast and lunch... #bfc530
