A2: Nonsense is allowed often; silly giggles, off the cuff comments, building in fun and spontaneity, laughing at myself so the Ss see they can too; trying to let them see the joy in the little things #LearnLAP
A2: Nonsense is key! Our library is a space where we have fun, where we talk, where we read, where we make noise, where we play, where we create stuff, where we take stuff apart, where we move around! All sorts of nonsense AND all sorts learning. #NoShushingAllowed#LearnLAP
A2: It is all about giving Ss the time to explore through their own learning and Ss led classrooms. Breaks occur in learning from time to time to relieve the work that is taking place in the room. #learnlap
A2: I never take myself too seriously - laugh whenever we can! I like to find entirely silly βlife lessonsβ in what weβre learning and encourage my students to add to our list. #LearnLAP

A2 Reinforcing that itβs school & not a prison. Itβs so important we are creating experiences and opportunities in all that we do and my role in encouraging that w/ my staff. Things like adding more recess time in the schedule was a huge shift itself to let kids be kids #LearnLAP
A2 Be spontaneous & read the class Sometimes they just need a laughter break It could be a funny video clip, or just taking a few extra minutes to ice break before a lesson Ss need to see our human side! #LearnLAP
A2: After we are done taking notes (and sometimes during), and students are working on their tasks we engage in a lot of silly banter. Excited to have students in my enrichment block this year design their own TED talks! #learnlap
A2: Letβs not forget that everyday we are in the presence of children => and nothing is more memorable for children than having fun! Find ways to let kids be silly and never be afraid to show them that you too can let your guard down! #LearnLAP
Sometimes it's also as simple as taking your kids out for 10 minutes to play Kneetag between math and reading just to get them giggling and being kids again before they get back to work #LearnLAP
#learnlap One paired-assessment we do is to use a popular meme image and make a caption that only a person who understood a math concept we've covered would understand. Ss love it....and they make some clever stuff!
A2: tambourines, pink acoustic guitar, #tshirttuesday, pirate jokes, polls about random topics, pink tutus and tiaras, plastic pet rat tricks, and lots and lots of singing.... π¬ #learnlap
A2: Rabbit trails can sometimes add in the nonsense, brain breaks, and then Super Happy Fun Circle Time Fridays makes Ss look forward to a fun/silly writing hour! #LearnLAP
Can't wait to hear how your staff responds. We did this last year, but was not executed well by admin and very few implemented. Your staff is blessed to have you at the helm! #LearnLAP
A2 - I plan for it!
Students need time to be silly, energetic, goofy. There also needs to be time for learning. It's a never ending balance that I am still learning, but getting better at! #learnlap
I did too! I Pulled up a table with them and it's been so fun to see what they talk about during the day. Sharing space is fun! #LearnLAP#flexibleseating
A2: I always give them the first few minutes to settle in and joke around while they do the QOD. I also love making corny math jokes in my lessons and my favorite moments are when the students are engaged enough that they can fire back... theyβre usually really funny!!! #LearnLAP

A3: #LearnLAP I do βbook commercialsβ for kids of things Iβm reading. Giving kids meaningful, engaging activities like #booksnaps, #sketchnotes and using #flipgrid are on my agenda this year!
A2b If you want to connect with Ss you have to be real. They know when you arenβt like a shark smells blood in water. Kids want to see someone they connect with and usually that means having a funny, creative, passionate, and/or empowering side side. #LearnLAP
I love that idea! My principal posted her reads in our staff newsletter, but I love the idea of posting it outside the classroom door for all to see. #learnlap

A7 I wish that my Ss will understand from day 1 that I am in their corner & that together we can imporove how they think & what their potential can be All Ss need an advocate #learnlap
A6 Model kindness for Ss, allow them to see how you treat others, and participate in random acts of kindness. Encourage and challenge Ss to participate as well. I am hoping to have them engage in at least one act of kindness per week for faculty, parents, or other Ss. #learnlap
A6: I ask them to see things from others' points of view. Try to get them to see a different side of things. "Hurt people hurt people" - show kindness to everyone, you never know what they're going through #LearnLAP
