#stuchatNZ is a student founded, student moderated twitter chat. Teachers and students are encouraged to learn alongside each other and challenge each other's perspectives. For those new to , keep an eye out for the hashtag and make sure to put "A1 etc." with your tweets!
A1: The purpose of learning is to explore new contexts. Develop new ideas and grow others and their thinking along the way too
Interesting idea from NZ Thanks https://t.co/bh1nfNDyWM
Evening ! James here, tonight's moderator. I'm super excited to be leading the chat around the purpose of learning!
a1 for me it's about growth. Always learning, always developing. Be it new knowledge or skills, and refining old ones, evaluating
We are at this end of the spectrum too! https://t.co/6b2iMDCVDt
After an hour and a half phonecall I'm intrigued as to what you came up with!
feel free to join in with our chat! We'd love to have your views and opinions shared!
Why is it important to use this method of thinking? https://t.co/EnUTfm034S
Focus is on process, not the end point!
I think learning is often a consequence of self or agent feedback.
Hi from Wgtn- juts got home! A1- For me learning is about connecting, making meaning and understanding
A1: The purpose of learning is not to necessarily to teach. Students should be given the tools to learn not given the answers!
Because often we experience learning in response to feedback from either self analysis or from feedback we receive from others
better late than never! Thanks for joining us tonight
I agree. Just made the change visible in Q2, take a look
a2.. About you are learning and how it can inform, shape, mould you into who you are.
Well said. https://t.co/1344bFC3nE
a2 both, you ha e to be able to critically think about the information that is being given to you, as well as what it is about..
.a2 Both for sure because to be self regulated learners who are able to critically think they need to 1st learn the tools to do so
It's wednesday already?? Hope I'm still welcome!!
always welcome! Q2 just sent out, you'll catch up fine :)
Agree with that. A2- One is to analyse and the other to apply that analysis
Fantastic tweet! https://t.co/A6t2V6ZYCX

A2: We need both. Without the ability to think, we can't explore. Without exploration we can't learn new ways of thinking
More fantastic tweets from a great bunch of thinkers! Q3 on the way
a2 people thinking differently is what makes us able to do a diverse range of jobs, teaching how to think may be a step backward
Why would it be a step backwards Libby? https://t.co/OoTxpVKw8S

how are we supposed to progress if nobody can think differently or originally? https://t.co/XkYNi0WuJQ

A3: I use critical thinking when I constantly ask, but why? Means I can challenge thinking and not stick to one answer.
a3 Mainly during creative processes when deciding what stays, what goes and what gets changes for the good of the whole.

A3 when ensuring cross cultural participation meets all learners needs and how positive effect all round
A4: Show them what it means to think critically and how they might shift their thinking. Show them how it's done!
a4 Introduce it to them as something less scary, refining, improving. In small doses eventually they'll pick it up on thier own
FA: It is important to be able to think critically and in depth about your learning. To learn, we need to explore
fa That learning means something a little different to everybody. No distinct lines, you're always in the grey
