Does anyone know how to access their contacts on gmail when on an iOS? I want to send home a letter to parent right now but cannot find the contacts. Ugh! #bfc530
My home room students are into memes right now. We have four classroom computers that they challenge each other to find a funnier one. They leave them up all day for the other periods to see. #bfc530
Broke is a good word. Spring break was to be in 2 weeks, used up all the days. I told people I wanted to do some work on the outside of my house during break, snow removal wasnt what I had in mind LOL #bfc530
Ha! Sadly, I don't think we had emojis when I was still teaching. :) was still in use. I can see how they would a be very useful and easy way to add visual cues. #bfc530
I use emojis (when I can find related ones) at the start of Google Classroom posts so that the notifications on their phones grab their attention more. #BFC530
I use icons to signify certain parts of the lesson on handouts, like partner work, or if i have something like @plickers planned (because i forget) #bfc530

We have one iPad cart for 11 classes to share and 4 classroom computers, so tech sadly isn't used directly by me all that much. However, 1-1 should be soon so I'm educating myself. #bfc530
I love EmojiMe and BitMoji too - prefer EmojiMe to be honest - they used them on their I Am page in their writing portfolios. They will be using them for characterization review next week too #bfc530
I had my students choose icons to add to their course outline; 1 per overall expectation. We learned to search Google for "___ icon" right in the doc. Also made great use of https://t.co/PW9c5kBfue which is worth checking out!!
#bfc530
We're creating visual overviews of the #BTT1O course this week. Each student chose icons to add to their copy of the expectations. I made an icon only version to put up as a poster.
Oh good..I am so glad. I think that storm years ago when we lost power for 11 days..it took out all the old tree, that may have been our savior today! #bfc530
U can put them in google keep and collect them like stickers. Then drag them into other google tools. Or u could make doc stickers #bfc530https://t.co/xBLxtn9b1s
My students choose emojis to add to their posts in @Seesaw , as it makes them more โtheir ownโ. I find some choices are more applicable than others, but many times the emojis chosen reflect the content of their post. #bfc530
I know I could still do more, but with 50 minute blocks for math, and my attempt for students to finish activity in class with no homework, it is hard to find balance. #bfc530
From your account in iOS, open a new message, then tap the plus sign in the To line. It will access your contacts. If using the app, you need to allow it access to your contacts. Then start typing and suggestions will pop up. #bfc530

Hmmm...seem to be having the same problem in Outlook at school. Have to copy/paste each group I email individually into a new message. Itโs a total pain. #bfc530
PLAN TO Join #WhatIsSchool with @deem_ellen and me at 6:00 PM EST, today March 8 for a fun and informative exploration of "Strengths and Vulnerabilities of Teaching"... #BFC530
Happy Thursday #bfc530! A little snow in the ground in central Ohio, so I got my run on inside today. Make it a great one leaders of our future leaders!
I have 42 minutes daily, then 84 min every other day. The extra period helps with my tech habit... @plickers no tech required and you could use @GetKahoot or @quizizz for groups to review in stations #BFC530

Watched a whole training PD video series from @edpuzzle last night... maybe flipping some instruction would help? Or would you prefer no hw at all? #BFC530
We are in a rural area where many homes still do not have internet (flip would be hard, until they could download at school). Phones rarely work in building as the signal is poor and corporation refuses to let any external devices connect to wifi. #bfc530
Ugh... so sorry! My colleague is currently looking into grants for hot spots for the Ss to take home. If i get any info, I'll send it your way! #BFC530
Iโve never used emojis in class. Iโm excited to try this. Great q. I love https://t.co/d6sjauAvnLโs starters of the day which has pictures or animations for getting great starts for a math day. #bfc530
Cues/icons are help for all learners, especially learners of additional languages (ELLs, FSL). I use them to represent info in an anchor chart. Also helpful to rep. the success criteria which we then use for quick assess, incl. self-. (Some of these ex. from Pinterest) #bfc530
A ๐ค Fun activity - we used emojis in an writing activity to demonstrate that Ss need to be clear in their writings-some emojis can be interpreted differently ๐๐๐ช๐๐๐คจ๐คช๐ค #bfc530
Morning, Carol & #bfc530. This thought connects nicely to recent lessons about symbolism w/my MS students. Visual symbols, including emojis, offer a helpful stepping stone to recognizing more complex literary symbols expressed in words. https://t.co/cvldSzisT3
