Good evening! I am Lesa Haney. I learn alongside amazing students and wonderful colleagues in Austin, TX. My favorite romantic movie would have to be When Harry Met Sally. #3rdchat
Azure, from Derby, Kansas. I am huge fan of the Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks duo - so I would say Sleepless in Seattle or You've Got Mail. However, I am a Twilight fan as well! I love a good sappy girl movie! #3rdchat
Hey #3rdchat friends! Ashleigh here, 3rd grade teacher from Hutchinson, KS... my favorite romantic movie... The Notebook... or honestly anything from Nicholas Sparks. I’m such a sucker for a sappy movie
A1 I teach at a k-12 campus. I LOVE watching my 3rd Graders grow up to be big kids! seeing former students daily on campus, watching them in drama and sporting events is so fun. I feel like I have a part of every step. #3rdchat
A1: At my school, I love our Friday Good Morning Meetings. The whole school together celebrating the end of the week and getting geared up to finish strong is my favorite. There is also something that gives me goose bumps about 600 voices saying the Pledge of Allegiance. #3rdchat
Our school has developed our version of the @ronclarkacademy and building relationships with our students in our houses has been the best thing about my school this year! #TheWildcatWay#3rdchat
A1 b We have a house system and each student k-12 has a buddy. I enjoy hanging with the big kids when we have events. Here is my son and his buddy! Where else would I get to watch him do his thing during the day! I am a lucky mom and teacher. #3rdchat
A1: Besides my team I'd say our Champion time.... love getting to just talk and build/maintain relationships with former students and other students I didn't have that are in my team #3rdchat
A1: There is so much to love about my campus. I would have to say what I love most are the people. I seriously have the dream class--fabulous kids and parents. My colleagues are top notch. #3rdchat
Each child is assigned a house. Each house represents characteristics of the mindsets. Staff members are spread throughout the 8 houses. We have house meetings twice a month and give house points for positive behaviors. I'm in the #HumbleHouse. #3rdchat
A1: I am very lucky to be teaching in a beautiful building! It was rebuilt about 7 years ago. When you walk into an older building, you learn to appreciate all the loveliness of the new! #3rdchat#Ilovemyschool
A2: I love the relationships I have established with not only students but their families as well. I love it when my previous students come visit my classroom on a daily basis to say hello or hug me at recess. Getting an email from an older former kiddo is special, too! #3rdchat
A2 Our family believes our purpose is to be in the service of others. Teaching allows me to do what I love every single day and to serve others. I want the very best for my students. I want to be a small part of their journey and to watch them flourish. #3rdchat
A2: I truly believe an educated citizenry is a vital requisite for our survival as a free people. Our country needs public education in order to thrive.
What I love about being an educator is that we get to touch the future. #3rdchat
I love the family feel we have @GraberSaltHawks. It is so important for us to take care of each other- which in turn helps make us better teachers. I would be lost without my coworkers - #ilovemyschool#3rdchat
A3 We have a Valentine's Day party and my favorite part of the day is watching the kids open all their Valentine cards and treats. It is so sweet! I also LOVE to have them write cards complimenting each other. Using candy hearts for math is tons of fun too! #3rdchat
A3: I love to participate in the Virtual Valentines Project every year. We partner with another class, @skype with them, research their community/state, and share digital valentines with their students. #k12valentines#3rdchat

A4: Of course my #3rdchat tribe, but also @kellys3ps who has the best classroom ideas. @mrs_smoke who is just inspiring all around. And my daughter @ashlee_jo523 who will someday wow the world as a future teacher! #3rdchat
A3: I saw this on Twitter the other day but haven't gotten to look into it yet. You can send virtual Valentine cards to patients at St. Jude's! I think that would be such an amazing activity to do with students! #3rdchat
A5: Our school does a #kindnesschallenge for each day. I love to encourage students to do those activities and show kindness to their classmates in creative ways. Today, we showed kindess to our families on our @Seesaw activity. #3rdchat

A6 I try to build relationships with my colleagues. I slip anonymous notes into their mail boxes and tell their admin when I see them doing amazing things. My door is open to anyone and I will do my best to help and support. #3rdchat
A6: Our team eats lunch together every day. Great way to connect. A note or an encouraging word goes a long way. Taking the time to stop and chat. #3rdchat
A6: Friendly smiles and hellos, sweet notes of gratitude, even hugs in the hallway! 🤗 I think it's important for students to see staff members modeling love and support for one another! #3rdchat
My team and I had a school photo "war". We hid our pictures in each other's classrooms. I had over 24 pictures in my room by the end of it. The kids got so into it. I had several kids tell me that they hope they worked in a fun place like that when they got older. #3rdchat
A7: I love to read aloud, but I feel like I am not very good at making it a regular part of our day. However, I love the book Wonder. It is a great way to teach empathy, acceptance, and compassion. #3rdchat
Haha! On one team I was on, we had a silly watering can with a funny smile on its face that one of us "won" at a white elephant exchange. We hid it in each others rooms for years. I am so glad no one ever thought to mail it to me. #3rdchat
A7 Charlotte's Web, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane and Small Steps are some of my favorites! These books teach empathy a social skill I am passionate about. #3rdchat
A7: I love reading books to my Ss! My favorites are those about people-teaching culture, character traits, empathy, etc. One of the best read alouds I ever did was Stone Fox. The story is so powerful and I cried my eyes out, reading the ending to Ss who were also crying. #3rdchat
A8: Greeting each student in the morning. Then, at the end of the day, I dismiss every student one at a time and tell them "I love you". The best part is when they say it back to me or tell me they love me first. Oh how I love my kids! #3rdchat
A8 Music every morning and call and responses give us a common languages. Little things happen that become our class rituals are my favorites. Those create memories. #3rdchat
