Our current one. Its a electoral college simulation, the students form parties, choose a political philosophy, candidates (former presidents), sides on an issue, and states to campaign in a race to 270. Seeing their strategies is always awesome! #bfc530

#bfc530 ZGood Morning, everyone. Crazy non-stop week, and I'm heading into an equally crazy weekend: helping with a church tag sale, attending a class in Hartford, going to a community lecture, report cards....whew!
A favorite activity with Social Studies and World Language classes was the State and Country Project on Our Cooperative Learning page https://t.co/ZKd9Cd6EvS I enjoyed watching how they put together the flags from the colored papers I gave them. #bfc530#edchat
We are going to an escape room on a field trip. I hate field trips but cannot wait for this one. It is to work on team building and communication. #bfc530
Back when @Starbucks was putting "The Way I See It" quotes on their cups, I had students read a bunch to determine the characteristics of the writing, then we created our own, pasted on cups, and lined the halls with them. Great to discover students' perspectives. #bfc530
Gm. Six word memoirs and a very low-budget, primitive-tech form of jeopardy that they love. Also , all @SecondChanceEDU activities (unsung, unbound, unlocked) are S favorites, mine too. #BFC530
We prepare. Students need to come in with a game plan and all the materials. If you email me, I would be happy to send you my stuff that you can modify.

When I taught middle school it was the family history project we did. I loved learning about their family, how they got to the US and watching how proud they were to share their heritage with everyone. #bfc530
My fab (and the student's) is one on heritage. We explore our own names, its popularity the yr we were born, and today, what we would have been named if we were opposite sex (fun Q for parents!), and map a family tree to see from where we came. #bfc530#6thgraderocks

Something simple but which has an enormous impact on my Ss is matching them with pen pals at another school. Their faces when they see their own names on an envelope- receiving personal letters and then being so motivated to write back is huge. #BFC530

Our Morning Meeting is an activity I look forward to, with my Kinders, daily. We begin the day by connecting around a Morning Message...we talk, we listen, we share...we build relationships! ❤️❤️❤️ #bfc530
I love my job, I get to see amazing lessons in all content areas each week, I am always awed by the teaching and learning I get to share with teachers and their classes! #bfc530 😊

Nope..type in hour of code and there are a lot of activities. #bfc530 but Michelle can probably tell you more. @Google also has an awesome program called CSFirst. Free lessons and they send you the material..super cool.

I don't necessarily have a favorite,I would like to integrate the FabLab tools into my US History class without it dominating the time or distracting from historical learning. #bfc530
In my new role, my favorite activities to coach are ones where Ss and Ts are team building and learning together. Whether it’s tower building or working on postsecondary plans, it’s great to see students finding something they are passionate about and working towards it. #bfc530
I love teaching students how to debate! For middle schoolers it’s pretty much a natural fit. Throw in some lessons on credibility, relevancy, and counter arguments and even the most reluctant students are engaged. #BFC530
Our Failure Celebration! On the first day back after winter break we announce a failure from the prior year and wear it around all day. We all fail, but none of us are failures. Such a fun day. #bfc530
Good morning #BFC530. Wet Friday with lots more rain coming. Not the best weather for a playoff game but we will make it work. Hope the boys are ready.
I do a series of lessons pre-The Island on Bird Street (boy surviving in the ghetto WWII), using research by jigsaw, The Butterfly poem, and tableau-the build up of interest and contrasting activities are great, it’s the first time I see the kids dig deep - and it’s fun! #bfc530
Our STEM teacher have students recreate a historical map on canvas and build a remote car. They then have to maneuver the car to the different spots on the map and tell the class why those areas are significant to the map and history #bfc530

If you teach math, make sure you check out @SteveWyborney ‘s page. He put together a bunch of subitizing lesson. The growth my students have made is unbelievable. His site is a gift..a gift.. #bfc530
I look forward to students producing our live morning show, future technology slide shows and my new favorite is students creating their own apps in slides. Thx @ShakeUpLearning and @micahshippee for this idea. https://t.co/MFoYkkEw9P#bfc530
GM #bfc530! I am a #3rdgrade teacher in WI getting to know Twitter. What do I need to know? 😃
Other than – checking Twitter is a nice way to pass time while enjoying an actual cup of hot coffee. This is usually my recipe: 😂😂
Still at the diner. However a different diner. I walked up to the door and they stopped being open 24 hours, so had to go down the road to one that opens at 5. #bfc530
Find a chat that you enjoy the conversation & try to stick with it. You will begin to see the regulars personalities and will appreciate the encouragement. If you can wake up early most mornings, #bfc530 is a great one. A friend refers to the teachers here as the "happy people"
Here was this morning’s breakfast. The usual. In the words of the Greatest Show diners have “everything you ever want, everything pi ever need, & it’s there right in front of you” #bfc530

This is a great idea ... i am looking to do something as a History teacher within the confines of my History class ... but I have access to all these awesome tools that I can incorporate #bfc530
Kevin, retired railroad conductor, 6th grade team learner, Fulton County, Ohio. Conferences last night and today...I slept in and missed #bfc530. Give praise to a parent today.
I love reading I Took My Frog To The Library with my Kindergarteners every year. It’s an adorable book that teaches appropriate library behaviors in a fun and engaging way. 🐸 #BFC530
After discussion, vote goes to the floor. If it passes their chamber it goes to next chamber. If passes there, comes to me (POTUS). I do vetoes and pocket vetoes, but sometimes sign.
I assign one day for them to attempt a veto override to see and feel checks & balances.

The Sneeze! It simulates an epidemic and we eventually see a logistic curve. I’m also a fan of The Legend of the Tower of Hanoi. We see an exponential function eventually and try to find when the world should end according to the legend. #bfc530
