A1: We show LOVE to our COMMUNITY.
Our #KindKidsClub@KindKidsAtKirk collected items for others. Students from our club brought in food, toiletries, and such from home. We then delivered the items to children in need in our community.

A1: I show love by writing random thank you cards and having my sweet kiddos write cards when staff members are going through a tough time. #champforkids
A1: Our students create Kindness Passion Projects where they go out into their community and perform an act of kindness. Each Ss receives a $10 budget to design/implement their project, then we have a Kindness Share Fair to show what we did! #champforkids#passionforkindness
A1: The easiest way to show love is to act from a place of love and kindness. This can be anything from helping a Ss/colleague, staying late for an assembly, telling others you appreciate them...itβs proactive action w/no underlying motive...out of purity of heart #ChampForKids
A1: I try to show love by being present and invested. My son is currently a freshman at the school I work at. My daughter will be one next year. I try to go to as many events as I can. #champforkids
A1: I try to do as much as possible for my school... Committee work, host an open mic night, keep in touch with families... I strive to be the guy people enjoy working with... #ChampForKids
A1: Show love to your community by getting involved! Reach out to community members and attend local events. Step outside of your comfort zone to make new connections. #champforkids

Q2: If βHβ in CHAMP stood for βHEARTSββ
How do you show LOVE to the "HEARTS of others often overlooked (cafe/office staff, bus drivers, counselors, custodians, librarians, nurses, paras, sub/guest & student teachers, etc?)
#champforkids

A1: I speak highly of my district, my school, the tt I teach with, and the ss I serve. I do my best to attend community events. But I could do better. I donβt teach in the district I teach. #champforkids
YES! This is awesome! When I taught in a hispanic community in Las Vegas, the students loved when I would ask them questions about their culture, especially favorite foods! I can still taste ochata in my mind thanks to my first set of students! #champforkids
A2: Show LOVE to the HEARTS of others often overlooked:
Leave treats for office staff.
Make cards on appreciation days.
Sing Happy Birthday to librarian.
Say thank you to custodians.
Always remind students that we are ALL teachers & ALL should be appreciated.
#champforkids
A1: One way I try to shine a light on my community is by shedding a light on the greatness they display and share their stories so that they are recognized and uplifted. #champforkids
A1 Excited to work w/ our SCA yesterday to help make over 200 sandwiches π₯ͺ for two different shelters in our area! @Tpet27 has some great pics of our assembly lineβ€οΈβ€οΈπ₯π₯β€οΈβ€οΈ#champforkids
A1: Participation is key! It's so rewarding to be involved in your community's events, and taking that extra step to build that sense of unity is of utmost importance! #champforkids

A2 Its important to always show love to your staff! Your cafeteria workers and bus drivers are the most important people on your team! Make them feel appreciated daily and not just during special weeks! #champforkids

#champforkids
A2: It's so important to slow down & give the gift of TIME. Often I will take the long way around campus just to peek in on those I don't see often, ask how their weekend was, comment about a photo they posted on Facebook, inquire about the kiddos. Means so much! #champforkids

A2 My class did RAK Random acts of Kindness- they sent Staff and students a thank you card with a treat thanking all the different people who help #champforkids
A2: I do this daily as these individuals are the glue that hold the school together! When finished early in art, the students write notes/cards and are allowed to deliver to the faculty member. They love it!

A2: It is imperative to remember that regardless of your role, EVERYONE involved in the school community is of equal importance. We all bring something unique to the table and should all be respected as such! #choosekindness#champforkids
A2 Greeting then always with a smile and hug. I may hold the food for the elder, and help get items down that are too high or even a simple conversation and know them by name! π¦ #champforkids
A3: There is so much so many do not see behind the scenes of the administration of a school. Because of this, I strongly believe that the way we can show the most LOVE to our admin is by extending the same grace, patience & respect to them that we expect from them.
#champforkids
A2: This is so essential! THESE ONES, so often overlooked are the most important players. We buy gifts at holidays, but day to day, I make it a point to take time for them...talk, smile, ask questions, acknowledge the fact they are working hard to keep things going. #champforkids

Support is the best thing for Admin. It's a tough gig and the dirt can get thrown fast and furious sometimes; remember to take time for that self-care! A thank you card is always appreciated, or just lunch. . . because. #champforkids

A3 Treat them like they are an educator, just like you. They may have a higher degree & other responsibilities but they ALL were Ts of some kind, can't forget that #champforkids

A5 I am trying to establish a routine to message parents with some great messages. I sometimes run out of time, but I know that it is appreciated by parents to hear how wonderful their kids are. #champforkids

A5. I'm always available to help. Yesterday I received a call from a mom whose preschooler still hadn't been dropped off. I don't work with her children anymore but she still calls me. I called the school, figured out the issue and called her back. She was grateful. #champforkids
BQ: I randomly write messages on their desk to greet them in the morning!! They love it, so I always try to time it and write them one when I know they need a pick me up #champforkids
BQ: How do you show LOVE to STUDENTS?
When they donβt know,
TEACH them.
When they make a mistake,
FORGIVE them.
When they make you proud,
TELL them.
When they think they can,
BELIEVE in them.
And no matter whatβ
LOVE them. β₯οΈ

Sometimes you have to go out to them. I've had great conversations with parents in the parking lot, at the park, in their homes. I go where they are and they appreciate the effort, especially my parents that don't drive. #champforkids
One of the BEST things you can do to CONNECT with kids and their families is attend their events outside of school. This is definitely one of my ALL TIME FAVS of teaching! #champforkids
A1. I try to attend community events. I've attended my students baseball games, church, musicals. I also try to go outside after school once a week to say "hi" to the parents and connect. #champforkids
We baked together. Prepped everything out. We then divided areas of our community and went in groups to deliver during our English class. #champforkids
Bonus: I always tell them I love Them. Educators need to get more comfortable doing this. Some kids wonβt hear it unless you tell them. #champforkids
Bonus Round: I show love to my students being there and knowing I care! Smiles! Words of encouragement! Little treats! Showing them how itβs possible to. E positive in the most negative situation! β₯οΈπ¦#champforkids
A4) Favorite one you shared was #respect . Each person on a team is significant and has unmeasurable value to the overall accomplishments achieved. Don't compete, respect, share and celebrate. #ChampForKids

We wrote a grant for our local education foundation and receive funding from Reneeβs Cheerios (which I describe in my book - coming soon!) You could always get funding from business partners and community stakeholders, too! #champforkids#passionforkindness
BA. I listen to their problems and concerns. I teach them tools to advocate for themselves and share their voice. I tell them that I will support, guide, listen whatever they need to feel successful. I tell them that I believe in them and they be anything they want. #champforkids
