I'm guilty of the same thing! So many to use!
Q1, I loathe having 90 submission to grade in . I wish there was a more time efficient way.
A1: For me it has to be curating, but not using the materials as much as I should. Also modeling for Ss and Staff
A1: I procrastinate doing example projects for my kiddosโฆand maybe grading their projects tooโฆ.
A1: Creating directions for my teachers to use a certain tool/app with pics so that they finally get to do it!
And transitions! Mine need to be symmetrical and fly in from equal L + R sides. Also spheres.
A1) Writing blogs to help in .
A1 filing away info/ideas for later...and, out of sight, out of mind
nathan, and none. I have a disdain for them
Soooo many choices!!!! Imagine how the kids feel!!! https://t.co/pJXLrFfZM1
A1: Spending so much time choosing backgrounds/fonts for presentation, rather than planning the actual presentation.
Absolutely, I have all these intentions of creating screencasts but life I donโt go through with it https://t.co/4NZakiXqMA
A1: Creating directions for my teachers to use a certain tool/app with pics so that they finally get to do it!
A1. Biggest procrastination, using Smore, I have shared it with my school secretaries but haven't spent time on it.
A1: Blogging... I just don't know when to find time to write about my day when I'm go go go
Terry 2nd gr T popping in for a short bit. Yellow Submarine(sentimental ties)
Welcome, Misty! You won't regret it! But you may come to learn we are all a bit nuts.
YES. And then it's midnight... and you have to get up in 5 hours. Sounds totally familiar.
A1: I wait until the last possible moment to do a screencast...don't know why...
Hi everyone! Marcia, middle school media specialist. As My Guitar Gently Weeps or In My Life
A1- I'll just Fav or retweet and look at that later... Or never lol
It sounds like somebody I know... https://t.co/UcSEtdzTVj

A1: I procrastinate doing example projects for my kiddosโฆand maybe grading their projects tooโฆ.
A1-I'm NOT counting all my open tabs. Twitter and pinterest is opening a box of wonderment or evil depending.
Sad... https://t.co/SO86o6P4XQ
A1: Starting PD keynotes and not finishing them. I have like 20 unfinished PD sessions in iCloud
Yay!!!!! My people!!!! https://t.co/y6v5sfhEje
Welcome, Misty! You won't regret it! But you may come to learn we are all a bit nuts.
A1: finally tried today after putting it off for months. It was so easy and great-why didn't I try it before??
This in STL, HS ELA & PD...and yellow submarine...my internet is too slow to GIF :(
Me tooooooo! https://t.co/g41J5nwBM3
A1: Spending so much time choosing backgrounds/fonts for presentation, rather than planning the actual presentation.
Yeah, but I'll finish them...tomorrow.
Faving this to look at later...
A1: In the midst of all of the new tech I was trying, I just can't manage to use it all in an effective way.
A1 Creating cheat sheets for Ts to use for reference.
A1 Learning about a resource then moving on to next resource before REALLY it. Maybe that's more scattered brain though
A1 Reorganizing digital notebooks; colors, tabs, order, etc. Really, because no S ever noticed.
https://t.co/aGUNiPaHti
But what about when we do it, share in email, and they ask for directions a week later?
This is great and very useful. T's really appreciate handy guides. https://t.co/L88VYojADi
A1 Creating cheat sheets for Ts to use for reference.
Mine is sentimental too...my high school senior class song :).
helped me overcome procrastinating Twitter!
A little late to the party - I'm Krista, I work in higher ed and am pursuing a master's in ed tech
Me too! I think so I won't have time to get self-conscious & redo everything 7,982 times.
RE: RE: RE: attachment. JK. I make quick vids 4 them
A1: A few things I have won and haven't had time to figure out. Plus working with AR and creating it is another.
Hey Krista, welcome weโre glad to have you https://t.co/MkSZmDT3gq
A little late to the party - I'm Krista, I work in higher ed and am pursuing a master's in ed tech
So glad I'm not the only one.
I feel this way too! Sometimes it's tech overload
โ๐ผ๏ธ https://t.co/e2LG1ybod8
A1. Recording videos for my Ss to use in centers/ independent work. I always intend to, bi most times it doesn't happen.
ugghhh grading. Love seeing what they do, but assigning a grade to their work....
Hi friends! Sorry I'm late, kids would not go to sleep tonight! I'm Chantell and I teach 3rd grade.
A1: I am finding as of late, that I have been procrastinating on making presentations that are more than just text. Time!
Russ Kahn here, Editor of K-8 nonfiction tool News-O-Matic. may be greatest song of all time.
Oh thank goodness tabs don't count or I'd have to seek treatment for 30+tabs, + windows, multi browsers
I can't believe this wasn't the first thing I said. I procrastinate w/this big time.
A1: being too comfortable, maybe using an app that I am more familiar with instead of something new
We're moving past it being necessary... Soon and very soon https://t.co/lfsgpGPL2F
ugghhh grading. Love seeing what they do, but assigning a grade to their work....
Me, too. They aren't always seen. I store in for reference. :)
Where are you going for your masters? I just this week finished my Masters in ed tech from Mizzou. Loved it!
I use the great suspender extension like nobody's business!!! https://t.co/2DKcnfBAZm
A1-I'm NOT counting all my open tabs. Twitter and pinterest is opening a box of wonderment or evil depending.
Standards based grading is my favorite. No more letter grades and it lets the Ts focus more on the skills.
Then you can amaze ppl later!
we need permission to play w/ Tech so Ts & Ss will feel comfortable w/ it.
I really need to make time for these things! Participated in a great chat on AR recently!
Thanks! Enjoy your ride, it'll help you in ways you don't even know yet.
Beatles song: Ticket to Ride...it's also the name of one of my favorite board games ;o)
If it works for the task at hand, don't worry about it. Too many apps, too little brain time
and I are loving this in our classrooms right now! https://t.co/DUxWW8wHl5
Standards based grading is my favorite. No more letter grades and it lets the Ts focus more on the skills.
We could do awa with grades and I'd be just fine.
Play time is essential for everyone!
This too! https://t.co/PqwaWNuxBl
A1: being too comfortable, maybe using an app that I am more familiar with instead of something new
is a great example of leading by example w/this https://t.co/6oQzRZNOAS
we need permission to play w/ Tech so Ts & Ss will feel comfortable w/ it.
You have my permission to play! https://t.co/73xjxDmOY1
we need permission to play w/ Tech so Ts & Ss will feel comfortable w/ it.
A1 probably delving more into with my class!
Was it led by She is my AR go to. https://t.co/FF47bCXW9K
I really need to make time for these things! Participated in a great chat on AR recently!
A2 deadline/due date...especially to be turned in to someone.
A1:Hacing my Ss do .They finally did one last week and it was ROUGH.We're doing it again next wk. :)
I'm late...sorry! Kathi, elem tech teacher from southern NJ ๐
Imagine that. A system for organizing tabs. Interesting ...
Very true...if you want ss & ts they must be able to practice, fail & grow with tech! https://t.co/K3W6bv6aMn
You have my permission to play! https://t.co/73xjxDmOY1
we need permission to play w/ Tech so Ts & Ss will feel comfortable w/ it.
A2. Due dates! Something about have having a deadline motivates me, even if I do it the day before. Accountability!
A2: Interacting w/others via computer or talking. I am a sucker for a natter.
A2: A firm deadline always gets my rear in gear...the day before..
My full schedule of Mom, wife, Scout leader, soccer coach and FT TL does a pretty good job for my time man
A2: fear of failing, want to live up to expectations, I'm a task master so I like things done early
A2: Definitely deadline/due date...especially if it's for a presentation/training
Q2: Due dates! Especially when I put them in my calendar and set an alarm for when I absolutely HAVE to do it
A2. Due dates primarily motivate me to finish things. I do finish things I enjoy--creation.
A2: Due dates, but Iโve had to lean on and to put in our own due dates
A2 As a S, the threat of a due date. Now: the fact that I don't want to have to think about it anymore that gets it done.
RIGHT. A if you improve and don't piss me off. haha
I don't think wifely nagging has proven effective. Are things different now that I'm your VP?
A2: How my audience will see my product. Ss see right thru 1/2 done plans; admin also
They will easily become your people too. Just legume enough and way smart!
A2: When my procrastination gets in the way of what's best for my Ss, I say, "Enoughs, enough...Get your act 2gether, Alex"
I'm not quite that south. I'm in Williamstown, about an hour from her! Love Cape May!
A2: sup pressure (sort of) want to make sure Ts like what I show them.
I agree, our students donโt realize how much of a motivator they are to us https://t.co/wYjckMByGK
A2: When my procrastination gets in the way of what's best for my Ss, I say, "Enoughs, enough...Get your act 2gether, Alex"

A2: When my procrastination gets in the way of what's best for my Ss, I say, "Enoughs, enough...Get your act 2gether, Alex"
I misunderstood the ?. DUE DATES w/use i.e. the conference is tom& I'm presenting. Others depending on me too
A2- I agree, due dates! I'm a night before kind of gal, I admit it ๐ฌ I work well under pressure. Just don't ask my husband!
There's an app for that! https://t.co/hYQKDavJw0
Please tell me where you find these perfect things?!! I can guarantee a daily LOL from what you post, girl! ๐ it!!
I've been doing this too! I make myself feel less guilty by making them do presentations with the content.
How much results affect other people can definitely influence levels of procrastination. https://t.co/JI8uI4Y8MS
A2: When my procrastination gets in the way of what's best for my Ss, I say, "Enoughs, enough...Get your act 2gether, Alex"
A2 hate feeling like I failed at something. It's just so overwhelming getting started sometimes! Or... a lot of times.
keeps me organized with all the stuff I have to do. It's awesome!
A2. Due dates! Even if it doesn't have a due date, I try to give myself one or it won't get done in a reasonable time
Ok, I procrastinated sleep for a little bit. But after my busy Spring Break I need to bid farewell. Enjoy!
I was born and raised there. Living in Central FL now. Always a Jersey Girl at heart though!! ๐
thanks for coming, Terry!
A2: due date! I have a grad class paper due in 21 hours. I'll be up all night (after this chat, of course๐)
๐ https://t.co/keQn6zyhJw
A2- I agree, due dates! I'm a night before kind of gal, I admit it ๐ฌ I work well under pressure. Just don't ask my husband!
What is it about a deadline that gets the heart racing and the panic mode started? Do today's Ss still feel that way?
A2- Procrastination is gone when I'm days from my presentation. Love/hate those that want your presentation early.
A2: The hour before our PLC time! I get the best ideas and presentations/challenges done then! https://t.co/pL6z0A71ba
I've sometimes wondered that. I have some students it freaks out and others it doesn't seem to phase.
A2: Hearing about other Ts who are having their kids do the cool stuff I want to get to. Peer pressure!
A2- also hate worrying ab something I need to get done.
I'm with you! Last minute - every time!
A2: due dates and meetings! Also, things that take away from my positivity, I want them done and out of the way
A2? I must be sleeping through it or procrastinating. Didn't see it.
Absolutely. They use them to self evaluate because they make the rubrics w/me most of the time too.
Oh definitely! https://t.co/xWXFZTWqGk
A2: Hearing about other Ts who are having their kids do the cool stuff I want to get to. Peer pressure!
Sometimes my best innovations come out of necessity and last minute panic.
I forget, do you two teach together too??
Agreed. Following some of these chats ends up being an evening of inspiration/work! https://t.co/qM7ZwlJeaS
A2: Hearing about other Ts who are having their kids do the cool stuff I want to get to. Peer pressure!
Oh, the getting started is the worst part. Once on a roll, it's usually ok. Working w/ a buddy helps, too.
Don't forget about the power of a last minute teachable moment though. Sometimes in my panic, these moments have driven it
A2 I would say seeing that other Ts on Twitter are doing great things always motivates me!
Definitely a big one for me too! Keeps me in check along w/Ss. Who are your audiences?
An accountability partner helps considerably! https://t.co/0x6HAudZQ1
Oh, the getting started is the worst part. Once on a roll, it's usually ok. Working w/ a buddy helps, too.
Yes, but pace yourself. Don't have to do everything every year.
Agree that getting started is the hard part. Once the first step is taken though I'm usually good.
I do a lot of PD around district w/ , but I teach MS tech/yearbook.
Do you dream about it? It plagues my sleep when I leave something hanging...
This was a really good lesson for me to finally learn. Even though its my 7th year teaching.
Could not agree more! the 1st graders in my building are even using it. It's so easy once you get into it!
โค๏ธ that feeling when you just seem to pull learning out of nowhere for ur students! So awesome! https://t.co/5TGawkHhQT
Don't forget about the power of a last minute teachable moment though. Sometimes in my panic, these moments have driven it
I have to talk it out loud to wrap my head around it. So yes, a buddy def helps so I don't seem crazy!
When my lesson gets derailed for a meaningful discussion...I love watching it unfold over the ruins of what I "planned."
I'm horrible (but in a good way) of coming up with great last minute ideas!
Absolutely! Nothing worse than letting someone down that you know works their tail off!
A3. Set benchmarks along the way. Make large tasks manageable, by breaking into smaller tasks.
Strict time limits do wonders for productivity.
A3: I started taking a picture of my hmwk board the weekend before and putting it on my feed Ss like it
A3: Break projects into smaller parts/deadlines, allow Ss to choose topics, product, etc.
A3: Incentives for finishing on time, clear expectations of work, timeline the process of bigger projects, etc.
A3 I like to rotate strategies, this season it seems to be asking how they are representing their families - heartstrings.
A3: I like to take the pulse of the class to see why they derailed, then tailor what weโre doing to their interests
A3: Frontloading w goal setting keeps Ss honest to their own aspirations. Let them create the carrot to dangle, not us.
So I just need to come play w/you all
A3: Mini-due-dates along the way for bigger projects definitely help keep things moving along.
it's letting go, and letting Ss lead, so awesome!
A3: Breaking things up into smaller parts with checkpoints to deter procrastination.
A3- checkpoints, reflecting regularly
A3. Frequent check-ins and reminders about due dates usually keep Ss on schedule. Mind you, I did say USUALLY!
That's where our best stuff always comes from!
Why not post it to Google Classroom initially?
Most defiintely. That's what I noticed helping me the most honestly.
I'm still learning. I have yet to succeed. Congrats.
A3: Small check-ins with me to go over progress and discuss outcomes.
A3 - Setting checkpoints through an assignment. Formative feedback holds them accountable.
If those check-ins are happening and students are gauging their learning w/ objectives, that helps, too. :)
A3 Buy-in in the first place. You're less likely to procrastinate something you're passionate about.
A3 Student conferences. And peer conferences. Kids like to show off, but not when stuff is unfinished.
I've considered. we have planners in 4th and don't have access to tech all the time. Considering next yr
I need to get better at that. More student-driven. I like that.
Me too! I've finally gotten a lot of Ts in my building being more adventurous with it. Yay! They can do it!
Yes goal setting has to be part of the checkin, Ss created goals.
My son has a planner in 2nd grade. I love it!
A3 3rd grade is a good time to start teaching time management. Lots of check-ins and handing over responsibility to Ss
The reality is some Ss donโt know what motivates them either, this culture struggles with identity https://t.co/jejpcrbEWQ
I need to get better at that. More student-driven. I like that.
My least fav phrase is "My kids can't do that". No, they can, you're just afraid of it.
When Ss create for their T, you get good enough. Create for the world? You get their very best! https://t.co/Wr6DiUPAAk
A3 Student conferences. And peer conferences. Kids like to show off, but not when stuff is unfinished.
Tip: Ask a student to add the post. They can click the plus icon and post to the stream.
A3: Create assignments/tasks that require Ss/Ts to complete small chunks and then put all together https://t.co/diHGibGwU7
The planner, although not ed tech, it greatly helps with procrastination and planning
"I'm not tech savvy, I'm just not afraid." https://t.co/Gx3plCQ3Cu
My least fav phrase is "My kids can't do that". No, they can, you're just afraid of it.
Preach! ๐๐ฝ https://t.co/sx2Yc7Z4DJ
When Ss create for their T, you get good enough. Create for the world? You get their very best! https://t.co/Wr6DiUPAAk
A3 Student conferences. And peer conferences. Kids like to show off, but not when stuff is unfinished.
Good idea, I'll have to think on my execution for next year or maybe trying the end of this year.
sometimes reminders get too easily "out of sight.." for me. Somethings, I love pen&paper!
A3: conferencing with them. Keeping them in the loop of where they are/need to strive toward. GOAL setting! ๐
A3 - I check in daily and model by thinking out loud, "If I know this project is due Thursday I should probably..."
I've got my SPF100 ready.
A3: Lately I've been trying to get my HSers to use their smart phones to set reminders, take pics of work to preserve etc.
A3: Cycle of chunking and chewing. Teaching a section of information and then having students have time to process it.
I want bumperstickers of this.
I'm passionate about my grad paper, but DREAD the APA formatting stuff. Sometimes, just parts are roadblocks.
Exactly! Not only do I love your tweets, but you also agree w/me? New favorite person!
something to be said about the balance of paper and tech, Ss need to find what works for them
Teaching is at the heart of it! can just enhance the learning for the some https://t.co/jrikDB0Iwa
TEACHING kids to plan is a big deal.
Love the verbs "chunking" and "chewing"! We use these when close-reading https://t.co/eJI0DZ2pS8
A3: Cycle of chunking and chewing. Teaching a section of information and then having students have time to process it.
I think it also helps to avoid giving Ss more time than they need to complete work. Tricky to find the balance though.
Done! I've never taught K so having more examples for Ts is always helpful!
"yes we started using it as a reading strategy and then it just kind of bled over ๐
Isn't there a app for this stuff?
A4 Our new thing is seeing who can say the alphabet backwards the fastest
We havenโt used them yet in our CR, but I want to do โPeanut Butter in a Cup we sing this song to get pumped up!
A4. is my go to for a brain break, musical chairs with content or
Wait till Wed. night or the bus ride on Thursday?
APA ๐ก I love content, get to that part and instant brain-freeze sometimes!
A4: Love doing a video when things get a little crazy.
I struggle with this. Once I've gotten rolling, I'm good to go & like to get it done already. https://t.co/vVgxtgDhZY
Q4: We do a lot of exercises, I like to work out, so I bring portions of my work out to my classroom.
Can be helpful to try out to work out kinks and iterate so next year starts smoother :)
We sing every night at the dinner table, tonight was Roller Coaster!
A4 turn n talks, also "mingling" to share ideas or whatever. And dangit now we have nice weather we need to go outside!
Yes! all day long! I love when they get to making a plan themselves w/what the chunks should be too.
just ask Kylee (can't remember her nickname) to come sing it!
I love the last weeks of school. I really start to experiment w new things since I'm getting excited 4 next year.
A4. Moving around a bit, going from working sitting down to working standing up.
You are definitely right.
HS classes r short but intense. 1 min. dance party is a fav. Or collective groan & moan stretch
A4 also, the obvious, . We love our ice cream and guacamole.
SS โค๏ธ seeing my iPhone on the smart board so we play fun carpet games with the Randomize app https://t.co/9hnXejy4US
A4: I have a Corny Joke of the Day that often becomes a center piece of a Brain Break as Ss are reminded that I'm a nerd
yes, they like monsters! I like conf 2 build relationships to also encourage them to work. It's a win-win
It helps taking one thing you're excited about and trying that for a while. Then another, I do the same thing.
A4: Sometimes I just crank up a random high-energy song & make 'em get up & wiggle for a few! I spaz dance, too!
A4: try to plan lesson in chunks w/each chunk diff activity. Movement from one place to another to do begin next chunk.
I use for groups, but each 1 should set goals & snap pics of work. They need to learn to manage.
We do that, they love music and sometimes struggle to think without background noise. https://t.co/T5raf7PGFV
A4: Sometimes I just crank up a random high-energy song & make 'em get up & wiggle for a few! I spaz dance, too!
A4: I had a calendar of weird events and I would hold quick class discussions daily. It would always generate a laugh
A4. It's been said but def! And sometimes just letting Ss mingle with each other for a moment
A4- humor!! This! https://t.co/s7Sbk3FNUn
A4: I have a Corny Joke of the Day that often becomes a center piece of a Brain Break as Ss are reminded that I'm a nerd
A4: playtime definitely gives students a bit of brain break, what S doesn't like to just play with tech for a bit
A4: In middle school...let students stand up, move, and talk! Also, if you haven't tried the new Quizlet Live game, do!
Cool idea, welcome Laura, glad to have you https://t.co/1PSTqWSqah
A4: In middle school...let students stand up, move, and talk! Also, if you haven't tried the new Quizlet Live game, do!
A4 We play change if. moveit is also an easy extension When they are dead I threaten squat jacks.
A4 - I am a big fan, but also don't underestimate the power of jumping jacks and stretches!
Tried GoNoodle once and my HS Ss thought I was lame. What do you do?
A4: , 30 second dance party (thank you greys anatomy), burpees (Ts under me hate us)
Some disagree, but I don't see why 1:1 environments cannot allow games on devices. https://t.co/t8rzaPHbRG
A4: playtime definitely gives students a bit of brain break, what S doesn't like to just play with tech for a bit
A4: Sometimes, I interrupt a lesson & post a random Q on for all to answer simultaneously! They love that!
I love the modeling you do with your Ts, it is inspiring!
I've used Simon Says for math instruction in K as a library break.
A4: (b) like to find random web cams of stuff like Old Faithful so we can just check out what's going on...
I'm marking this one down. Great idea!
Definitely see working more with younger ones, try Zumba
Oh 30 sec dance party! Gotta start doing that! Love Grey's Anatomy!
is also a fun trivia break.
Brain breaks can be as simple as sharing a quick moment of fun. A joke, an aside, etc.
Good pointfor me to keep in mind, b/c I struggle WITH bckrnd noise. I need to remember all types of learners.
A4: is awesome! Also quiet reading or free choice reading/math app
A5: I think the moment we force ideas when they arenโt quite ready, if there is time let it percolate
Not yet, but I just followed 'em thanks to you! I'll try it tonight!
I vary the brain break on the situation, sometimes its a quiet one, some jump around, dance, read, play with tech, Ss pick
A5: I am a procrastinator at heart so I think that it gives time for thought and reflection and gives me drive to completeโฆ.
Ss write songs on scrap of paper, put em in a jar. Student picks. I check them ahead for content
I may have started it just for the Greys reference. :)
Q5: Yes. For when life happens. If a Ss doesn't hand in work on time because they r making dinner 4 fam..permissible
Adding Google Feud. Fun brain break for PD :)
A5. Depends on the circumstance & the person. Some may feel more confident in the work they produce when procrastinating.
Just checked this out... um LOVE!
A5. If you're working on something hard & you can't figure it out, sometimes you need to walk away from it.
A5: It's going to happen. Still does as we evidenced in Q1! We can teach kids to cope with it when it happens.
never tried this. Thanks for the share!
A5: Yes, I think if you aren't feeling inspired and the ideas you come up with aren't valuable, then it's better to wait.
a5) I do believe it gives extra time to think and develop an idea or project in the back of mind https://t.co/CMBoIWYROc
A5: Also keeps the perfectionist in me from tearing it apart multiple times and putting back together :)
Every is sitting...usually. Say change if you have clothes on-everyone stands. Each command starts change if
A5: YES! I stress to my Ss that they have to find what works for them,I encourage starting early, but not all work that way
A5 Yes, because life happens and some moments require spontaneity!
I first learned about it from .
Love this insight! The power of open air; let it simmer; sink in; etc... https://t.co/Pka3xTnYa5
A5: I think the moment we force ideas when they arenโt quite ready, if there is time let it percolate
Ss keep changing between standing and sitting. Last command-change if you are standing
Agreed. Rarely, Ill do a phone break. 1 min to text/chat/tweet/play etc. then back to work
A5- sometimes it's just a fact of life. With two kiddos, pets, jobs... I'm neither here nor there!
A5 usually permissible when sick or other uncontrollable event occurs.
A5(cont'd): Snarky response..but if a task doesn't seem valuable, & merely exists for a "box check," I'm never timely w/it
A5 YES Sometimes you need a diff perspective or a fresh eye. You can't rush greatness! BUT don't let it get out of control.
A5: Ss need to choose, same reason I teach writing with several Graphic organizers and then Ss choose, Ss control= buy-in
A5: Procrastination is permissible if the time is used for further thinking and refining of an idea.
A5: for the reality of what Ts and Ss live in & are expected to do of course it's permissible.

A5. Sometimes the first thought is the right thought. Looking at something too much can ruin it
A5 - Procrastinating, when properly coupled with prioritizing, can be productive. ...good alliteration anyway.
A5 life is juggle of what to/not to procrastinate on. Was binge watching with my fam over break procrastination or fam time
A5: There is nothing wrong with procrastination. I'm finally getting around to joining this chat. Better late than never.
A5 Absolutely. Gives think time. Depending on sit. Also read that creatives procrastinate more. https://t.co/Z0JFmrTW6f
Yes...I also have super power "busy work" goggles... https://t.co/VpLAaqrOA2
A5(cont'd): Snarky response..but if a task doesn't seem valuable, & merely exists for a "box check," I'm never timely w/it
Welcome, glad to have you
Don't let perfectionism be your procrastination! When you've done your best, it's time to turn in https://t.co/SiYqHld0CF
A5. Sometimes the first thought is the right thought. Looking at something too much can ruin it
A4: I've never given "brain breaks." I've heard they are helpful and it works, just never really needed to use them.
So true. https://t.co/FYMG11Jljw
A5. Sometimes the first thought is the right thought. Looking at something too much can ruin it
A5: depends on the task, but I'm a big fan of procrastination. If task requires more effort and thought need to start sooner
OMG! This is epic. I love when people model with real life examples the topic of the chat! Welcome! https://t.co/Q9kZkcVrtr

Love this! Yes! It's really just prioritizing, not procrastinating! ๐ฅ
A5:Definitely. When the Ss is redesigning in a project and procrastinating until the idea comes to them.
Q5) letting Ss procrastinate is an opportunity to learn to cope with stress and pressure. Not a bad lesson to learn
If you've never texted or looked up memes during a staff meeting, you're lying.
Thanks! Actually the first time I've ever joined this chat...and this was the first question I saw!
Thanks for the great chat tonight!
Teach as many management skills to the Ss when they are young, let them practice and master as they get older
Some of my best ideas have been at the last minute when the pressure is on!
What looks like procrastination is often thought. I fidget, draw, play mindless games. Its a process for some students.
A5, Let's face it, tech gets in the way sometimes - check a little FB, Twitter, email, Instagram
Must keep this in mind for our Ss.
thank YOU for joining us.
You have found your people! https://t.co/WHD3kyVOZN
Thanks! Actually the first time I've ever joined this chat...and this was the first question I saw!
Yes it's a lesson that Ss must learn
Must make our lessons more engaging then?
omg Yes!!!! Have daughter in college right now...drives me crazy!
Q6: I need to make some videos for a website Iโm working on with some friends, canโt get it started though
a6) Making a video preview for an iPad presentation. Break it down into chunks, and get started https://t.co/Yz7mlHdKQi
Ha, I meant for me - most of us I'm sure.
A6: Adding this Ss iPad to OSX Server to test out Apple's Classroom app a bit more. Will do after :)
A6: Hitting the small, terrifying "publish" button.
On spring break & need to clean house. Tech/chat is more fun!
Need to make myself a "to do" list I can check off
Me too. But thought it was a good reminder.
publish, publish, publish!
A6 Finishing a lot of projects I have started. Really just doing the hard and boring stuff. Why can't it all be fun?
Exactly. So why can Ts need it, but Ss don't?
A6- I actually have nothing pressing I have to get done right now... All I have on the horizon is testing ๐๐ซ
A6. Currently: Procrastinating on putting finishing touches on grad school paper. I will get off Twitter & turn the TV off.
A6: Procrastinating on my proposals. Difficult to plan pd a year ahead. Anyone have a good method for this?
great point. Ss deserve to exist in the same space we do. Exclusion = no trust
A6: Y'all know that grad paper I mentioned is due tomorrow at 7pm? I may just get up early & start it in the morning. Ugh.
A6: need to get busy on PD for beginning of next year or I'll be working on my time off this summer.
I'm trying to accomplish this by tackling one room a day. Day 1 was successful. We will see about tomorrow.
A6. Organize the apps on Ss iPads. I will make that summer project, to ensure they are ready for the next school year.
A6. The fact that I can't think of something I'm procrastinating on scares me into thinking I'VE FORGOT EVERYTHING
A6 - Something called the BOSA Competencies Matrix. The May due date is giving me way to much time to do other "stuff!"
Missing because I'm not procrastinating. In my absence, I leave you with this thought https://t.co/qxrz8DahSz
I have a blog post about procrastination that has been in draft form since 2012. Can't make this stuff up.
So funny the things we can think of to do when we should be doing school work...lol.
A6: This project with 80 posters, one for each kid, in a giant hallway mural on positivity. https://t.co/9m6jaSRVPc
Awesome, thanks! https://t.co/gqMIMchAWk
