#122edchat is a weekly conversation designed to help inspire educators across the globe to reach their greatest potential in service of others. Megan Hacholski (@megan_hacholski) and Michael Abramczyk (@_on11), along with guest moderators, lead each week with a different focus tied to their strengths and areas of expertise.
Hey all! Phil from Northern Virginia. I teach 6/7 US History I&II and am the founder of #waledchat (Thurs @ 9pm ET) and #Edusations (Youtube). Thrilled to be here!! #122edchat
#122edchat -and for the record, I am not at an Asian buffet, contrary to what Twitter night tell you. I am on the floor, next to a crib, trying not to fall asleep. Last night I fell asleep with my knee brace on and paid for it today in PT. 😬#kneesneedtobendapparently#whoknew
#122edchat Finally! This is me after walking out of PT today... 😂 ok, I’m still on crutches so maybe not. But this is what I WOULD look like... oh, I teach 6th grade science in PA with a splash of Shenanigans...
A1: INTENTIONAL #oneword2019 I want to make sure what I am doing everyday, every hour, every minute is purposeful and works towards raising student achievement. #122edchat
A1 - Personally….I’m going to run a 100 mile race. Professionally…I want to connect and support more educators this year than I ever have before! #122EdChat
A1: Already started, but not getting caught up in the "walnuts" around the building. At a staff meeting, we read "Find Your Marigold," and it was a perfect message when starting in a new place. https://t.co/plMD7Qcrc3#122edchat
A1: I have created tons of content from my 20 years of experience as a T, AP & Principal and I going to shout it from the mountain tops to help all teachers with kids who struggle! #122edchat
A1: #OneWord2019 has transformed the way I operate. I never understood it until I adopted #relentless as my word. It has given me the power to focus my attention with purpose for being a teacher, leader, husband, dad, and person. Everything comes back to #relentless. #122edchat
A1: Personally, I am going to run my first triathlon and am training for it now. Professionally, I am going to be consistent with my podcast for my faculty. I started it so that I could share the stories of what is happening in their classrooms. #122edchat
A1. We've done well w/ incorporating more innovative, out of the box lessons. Now it's time to share more among staff & challenge them to answer how the lesson is making a difference. Getting more reflection going. #122edchat
A1: I've been brainstorming with my school librarian on ways to find more time in my daily routine for my Ss to read what they WANT to read instead of just what they HAVE to read. Independent choice reading = SUCCESS! Now I just need to find more ways to implement! #122edchat
A1: Don’t know yet. To not cry everyday might be a start. I had grandiose plans of making big changes. And then I did 2 days in my classroom and forgot how hard it was. But I’m just going to keep on keeping on and be patient and do what I can until I can do better. #122edchat
A1. Just as soon as you think your content is "important", the real world kicks in. My 2019 is going to be all about relationships. The content will take care of itself. #122edchat
A1: I will be giving all ideas and opportunities I have the chance to encounter a maybe! Not saying no unless I truly know it’s the wrong fit for me...yes to new adventure, new challenges, a new year of possibilities #122edchat
A1 I'm trying to figure out how we ALL become accountable to our children. I discovered a huge deficit this year and it's breaking me. I really had to step back and I'm still searching for the solid ground to stand on. #122edchat
A1: I plan on continuing I work to transform my room with alternative seating. I also am in the process of introducing sketchnote and genius hour to my group. I am also diving into introducing a professional blog and trying to start a student blog.#122edchat
A1 - I’m attempting to help students to understand that A’s do not measure your worth. Rather it’s who you are, how you treat others, and your work ethic that truly matters. #122edchat
A1: I’m trying to change some of my policies around grading. I’m also going to continue building my PLN on Twitter. These connections are hands down the best self-directed PD ever! #122edchat
A1: I’ve been getting up an hour earlier and it has been awesome! Time to prep for my day and set my intentions for what I want to achieve... #122edchat
A1b - Positivity has always been a mantra for class. Continuing to stress this and how to love learning shapes teaching and learning in class. #122edchat
A1: I want to be more purposeful with my time. Too often I get caught up on things that don’t matter. Kids matter, teachers matter, learning matters. But, some of this other stuff can wait. #122edchat
A1 I hope to be less reactive and more thoughtful, I hope to be courageous enough to push the envelope to make schools better for kids and as a personal growth goal I hope to make 2019 the year I learn Spanish 10 minutes a day on Duolingo, #122edchat
We always hear to think outside the box, but in reality we need to get rid of the box. Don't limit yourself. You can do it. I believe in you. #122edchat
A1: My goal for 2019 is to say YES to opportunities that come my way! I won’t let fear or insecurities hold be back... I’m taking chances, stepping out of my comfort zone, and embracing the experiences that await me!! #122edchat
A1: I am going to do all that I can to minimize self-doubt in myself and others. I'm going to give myself more chances to shine this year. ☀️
#122edchat
A1: Ask for support or input. This is something I have a hard time doing but I know in order to make improvements for the better of my Ss, I need to reach out. #122EdChat
A2: @JulieAndrews. She has been an inspiration my entire life, and I admire everything about her. She embodies the type of person I aim to be. #122edchat
A1: I want to grow Union’s outreach program, adding an open library in the summer for neighborhood kids (who don’t go to my school) and those who do. I want to grow our STEM program even more & return to FETC in 2020...and win the STEM Excellence Award. #122edchat
I appreciate that so much, Ryan! I'm hoping it will happen in 2019! Definitely want it bad & am putting the work in, for sure! Nothing is handed to us, we've got to WORK! #122edchat
A1: We are going for the six distinctions in Texas and 100% of our students meeting their goals. As for changes in the school, we will revisit, revamp, and redo our PLCs. Adapt and adjust. They can be better and we are adjusting. #122edchat
A1: Thought I'd jump in because it's @mradamwelcome & @sheehyrw in #122edchat! Wow!! I'm working on a book from all the stories I learned from the conversations with awesome educators like you!! Plus trying to get into shape. #BetheOne Try to follow your lead, Adam!!
A2. I would love to hang out with Pope Francis. I would really like to hear his thoughts on different topics, hear about what he is most interested in, and how he keeps such a servant heart. #122edchat
A2: So many great folks that I have met via Twitter that have impacted my life for the better. Difficult to pick one. I'd probably have to say, @jcorippo. Got to have dinner with him at #ISTE18. He is probably one of the smartest and wittiest people I have ever met. #122edchat
A2: One living person on this earth I'd love to hang out with for an afternoon.... hmmm... gotta be @_on11! Love how Twitter has started what has been an awesome friendship over the course of the last year. Thankful to have a brother to grow with! #122edchat
A1: Trying to start each day on a positive note by thinking of one positive message to tell myself or one thing I want to accomplish. Mindsets make a huge difference! #122edchat
A1: I want to be in multiple classrooms for most of the day, every day. Monday was a great start: 4 classes, & almost 4 hours of observations. I want to maintain that, understanding that on some days, I’ll be pulled for other duties and may not make 4 classes. #122edchat
A2: There are so many people that are amazing I would like to hang out with! I would love to spend an afternoon with @kimbearden I feel I could learn a lot from her in all areas of life. #122EdChat
A2: @mradamwelcome!! My hope is that our paths cross in 2019!! He’s been a motivator for me both personally & professionally!! I appreciate his friendship & constant support! #122edchat
A1

Embrace #StudentVoice
Focus on student creation
Eliminate obstacles
Have a positive growth mindset
#122edchat

A1: I want to be a better instructional leader, most visible in classrooms. Be more focused and intentional. Make even greater connections with my kids. Grow our advocacy program, YOU MATTER. #122edchat
A2 - Tony Robbins! His passion to help others has always inspired me to follow his lead. Any person who seeks to make our world a better place is good in my book. Even though he has made a fortune, his message resonates with many people. #122edchat
Love it! You ever hear @arkellsmusic new song Relentless from their latest album Rally Cry? I turn it up on the way into school often. Catch them live when they’re in Chi-town. https://t.co/bZhMPav02F#122edchat
A2: I’m a rule breaker because I’m picking two! Ellen DeGeneres @TheEllenShow & Oprah Winfrey @Oprah because they inspire me to break through adversity and SHINE! #122edchat PS Michelle Obama too😉 @MichelleObama
A2 If I could spend the afternoon with one living person it would be President Obama...I continue to be impressed with his class, vision, and courage to lead with dignity #122edchat
@branthansen - his perspective on God and life always astounds me and challenges me. We would laugh and carry on awkward antics...lots of shenanigans. Pure, clean innocent humor. Besides. He knows how to play the ACCORDION. Perhaps he’d let me try it out for size. #122edchat
A2 I'd sit with my cousin. I miss her dearly. She's in Greece and we haven't seen each other in years. She recently lost her husband and I wish I could be there with her and my other family members. #122edchat
A2: I would choose to hang out with @DrTempleGrandin. Being a SPED teacher, I'd love to learn about her success and struggles in school and how to better support our Ss with special needs #122EdChat
A2: Oh my goodness! I totally want to hang out with each of you in my #PLN! There are *SO* many folks I want to meet & have dinner with in 2019! My #OneWord2019 is CONNECT. There's a TON of people I owe big hugs to! #122edchat
A3: I wish I could go back to school for an additional Master's, my doctorate, or an administrative degree, without the constraints of money and time away from my family. #122edchat
A2: I would love to sit down with @hopekingteach and see what her planning looks like behind her room transformations. Academic standards and theme! #122EdChat
A2: There are so many people I would love to hang out with, but one person would have to be Paul McCartney. I just want to sing along with him. Actually, I would love to hang out with both of you @mradamwelcome and @sheehyrw since the podcasts. Love learning from you!! #122edchat
A2: Id love to hang out with Will Smith. After followinghis youtube channel and Instagram I am amazed at his inspiring and insightful messages...illuminated with humor and authenticity! Well and we have the same bday so think it’s fate we hang out 😂 #122edchat
A3: I believe our school does a great job on cultural competency training for staff however I know there is so much more we could do so I would love to have access to materials to become even better. #122edchat
#122edchat a1 Not been proud to say that I never take risks in applying to new educational fields. I am starting to have a go, believe in myself a bit more. Rather than I have to be 100% b4 applying.
A3: More time. We each get 24 hours, less sleep time, to function with each day. I just need to be a better manager of my minutes. Working on prioritizing things in life. #122edchat
A3. I wish I had an all access pass to see inside classrooms across the country. Maybe a youtube channel showcasing everything education. A day in the life of... #122edchat
Definitely @ManuelScott ... had the great opportunity to attend his keynote in Boston in March and it was so inspiring and empowering & I would love to chat with him & take in his words of wisdom for my own betterment & those around me ❤️❤️❤️

Amazing folks. Got to meet @mbfxc this summer when I was running with @JoyceBronwyn during #ISTE18. Such a wonderful couple days. Really miss chatting with Bronwyn. Such an amazing lady. #122edchat
In reply to
@LindaEdwardsi, @mbfxc, @JaimeDonally, @JoyceBronwyn, @mbfxc, @JoyceBronwyn
A2: I got to do this last weekend!! Running with @mradamwelcome talking running, education, and everything in between! It was so great to connect with someone like-minded and remember that I’m not an island! #122edchat
A2: One is my beautiful wife @AlmaGonzalez and the other person would be my dad and pick his brain. I would’ve loved to talk and reminisce some more with him. #122edchat
A3: 1:1 technology for all K-5 teachers and special areas teachers who are willing to become Google Level 1 Certified and use the technology to enhance and extend instruction and learning. #122edchat
A2: I would love to hang out with @burgessdave he has had such a positive influence on my educational practices and his @dbc_inc books have made me a better teacher #122EdChat
A3: A resource I wish I had was a constant yes from administration to make the arts as important as all the other subjects! A mega phone would be helpful to shout from the rooftops the glory that hides in the process of creating #122edchat
A3: I wish I would have found @davestuartjr's stuff sooner, but it's all good. The struggle helped me become a better teacher and person. As @RyanHoliday writes..."The obstacle is the way." #122edchat
A3 I wish I had the ability to slow down time or add hours to the day so I could accomplish, inspire and be inspired more .since that is not going to happen I will work on being present and living in the moment to maximize my time and my enjoyment in life's pleasure .#122edchat
A3: modified math curriculum for Ss with special needs that is appropriate to their academic level in order to be better prepared for their future rather than force them to learn content 3+ years above their level #122EdChat
A3: More time and money: more time to squeeze in everything I want to accomplish. More money to travel to workshops, buy more PD books, and resources for my Ss. #122edchat
A3: That is tough. There are a lot of resources but the time to try them out is what I want more of and time to brainstorm with other educators. #122edchat
A2-if I could hang out with @BethHouf or @nbartley6 their energy changed my life listening to them at a conference and reading their book. I almost went to nursing school and left education #122edchat
A3: Complete control of our PD where we can tailor them to the unique needs of our school. Most of them are prepared by our district and sometimes they are not what our campus needs. #122edchat
A3: I wish I had reliable, up-to-date 1-to-1 technology in my classroom and the training and resources to use it effectively. Kids love tech and I'd love to add that layer to my lessons. #122edchat
A3: I wish we could provide more professional development on equity to our substitute teachers. We spend so much time building culture. It would be helpful for those who interact with our kids to uphold our values in the absence of our teachers. We’re working on it! #122EdChat
A3. I would LOVE a MAC LAB. Yes there are some great things out there. But the Macs are so easy and the options. Chromebooks are a tad limited. #122edchat#MoMoneyMoMoney
A2
I might want to hang out with the Queen of England, have high tea and talk about all of the years she's been on this Earth and everything she has seen and witnessed as a leader and as a person. If Audrey Hepburn were still alive I would want to hang out with her. #122edchat
A3: Access to an indefinite amount of funds and resources so I could ensure EVERY child receives a fair, equitable, relevant, and trauma-free education. #122edchat
A3: I wish I had access to the levers of power to make real change in education. Those often making decisions are not grounded in the day to day of the classroom. Real decisions that make life better or all Ss and not politically based decisions would be refreshing.#122edchat
Wow. This is powerful! Thanks for stopping by tonight, Attiya. I still have your blog that I am waiting to get a look at in the next day or two. Thank you for sharing it with me! #122edchat
A4: Lack of confidence. I doubt myself often, and it's been even harder this year when I also find myself trying to prove my worth to a new set of colleagues and administrators. They've been nothing but supportive, but I am incredibly hard on myself. #122edchat
A3: my Pa, Tommy Bruce. Only after he had passed did I learn what his Purple Heart was for and where: D-Day. I’d like to talk with him about that day. #122edchat
#122edchat a2 @valerietilton has been talking about the fun of edcamps. I'd like to be there live. Any person I met would be interesting. Everyone has a story to share.
A3: Easier access to getting into other people’s classrooms and seeing how they do things. What does the same lesson look like in my teammates’ rooms?! #122edchat
A1: the change will be in responsiveness to the various cultures and groups in our school and the implementation will be through our school’s equity team and cultural competence efforts. #122edchat
A3~ would love to have a set of the old Dick,Jane and their 🐶 Spot books from my childhood & share them with my littles ~ great books to inspire a love of reading #122edchat
A4: Lack of confidence. I can see the good/potential in others, but struggle to see it in myself. Throughout my life, I have heard negative. As a result, I tend to buy into and believe the negative press about me. #122edchat
A4. Myself. We always hear about thinking outside the box, but in reality we should get rid of the box. Don't limit yourself. I am going to keep pursuing my dreams and make things happen. #122edchat
A4: there are a few things out of my control holding me back, but the thing I can control is me. A lot of self doubt, insecurity, and a life-long battle with LOW self-esteem constantly nagging me. One day at a time and help from my friends will get me thru! #122edchat
A4: The only thing that holds me back is myself. I tend to get in the way of myself, succumbing to doubts and insecurities. That's why my #OneWord2019 is Courage. #122edchat
A2 Take two. I need to read the questions more closely.
I would choose to hang out with @adamburk. Wise, humble, passionate, selfless, and inspiring. #122edchat
A4: Personally, I need to train at a higher level more consistently. Professionally, this is my first year as an ITC. The seeds being planted will continue to grow. I just need to keep a growth mindset. #122edchat
A4 We can always find excuses but I find we are the ones to usually hold ourselves back. This year I am journaling and setting weekly goals as well as focusing on my #oneword. #122EdChat
A4: I think the obvious answer for any educator here is time but I think sometimes I need to get out of my own way and trust my judgment. I have gotten pretty darn far in my life on trusting myself but sometimes that little bit of doubt creeps in. I need to crush that! #122edchat
A4: I can sometimes fall back into the ‘time’ excuse. Have tried to be much more proactive about planning the day (at least as much as possible) #122EdChat
A4: hours of the day. Not sure, I already work many hours to accomplish my goals for my school. I needed to fin more balance, serving my family as much as my school. #122edchat
A2: I would like to hang out with Malala Yousefzai. The way she has advocated for the right of education for all is inspiring and admirable. #122edchat
A3
As the technology coach all I ever wish for is that my students were one to one with devices and that teachers did not have to pay for premium subscriptions to their favorite apps and Tech tools
#122edchat
A4: I can get in my own way sometimes. I’m trying to be more creative in the way I use my time and resources so that I can make some great changes in my classroom! #122edchat
A4: I’m the only one holding myself back...and hence I vow to use my voice on as many platforms and in as many ways to spread my message of the importance of the creative arts and to make sure others realize the Beauty their voices as well! #122edchat
A4:missed Q3. Goal to write my book and visit more schools around the world. Things holding me back: too many goals. I need to prioritize and balance my life. It's important to have fun along the way. I am living my passion, not getting rich, but really love my life. #122edchat
A4: Besides the obv... that I’m not walking... time management. I just need like 5 more hours in the day to do what I need, ahem, want, to do... #122edchat
A4: I get inside my own head - that holds me back. I overthink and overanalyze nearly every conversation wondering what underlying meaning may be there. #122edchat
When it comes to discovering the benefits here, I’d say there is no such thing as too late! Think of all those still missing out. You’re ahead of the pack. #122edchat
A4: I feel as though the lack of support for new/innovative ideas are often rejected so my plan is to finish grad school this year, give it one more year or else move! #122EdChat
A4: I Think one aspect holding me back is if I try too many things and do not go deep on a few. I hope to research and go deep on some topics/writing to support the field in 2019. Matt J from Greater Boston... sorry late #122edchat
A4) Fear is always what holds me Back so I’ve officially locked into my #OneWord2019 and it’ll be FAITH I’m going to grow my faith to be way stronger than my fear and keep me anchored professionally, personally, and spiritually #122edchat
A4- I am my own worst enemy, I need to remind myself to practice gratitude, mindfulness, kindness, and work on professional and personal growth, when I do these things I am a better leader and person..just important to remember and practice #122edchat
A4: I’d say that the only thing that’s been holding me back is myself. But what I’ve learned in the last few years is that when Brandi Miller puts her mind to something... there’s no stopping her! 2019 is my year... watch out 🌎! #122edchat
A4: Nothing holding me back from the goals I have already set. I’m achieving those by planning my small benchmark steps along the way. Key got me, will be not quitting when I experience setbacks. That’s life & that’s inevitable. #122edchat
A3 A resource that I want to have access to, as do many of my colleagues, is an integrationist. There are so many great ideas and powerful pockets of innovation at school. If only we could have someone to connect the dots, provide feedback, and ideate with us. #122edchat#eduwin
A4
Believe it or not self confidence and self esteem
I always question my ability I always feel that I could be better
I need to start believing in myself.#122edchat
A2: I would love to spend an afternoon with my husband @spqrmiguel and my grandma 👵🏻Susana who passed last Mar so that I could learn more. Our her struggles as an immigrant and lack of schooling #122edchat
A5: I've lent out #runlap and #tlap to multiple colleagues already this year, and I love to engage in professional conversation rather than fall into the trap of gossip that can often occur in the teachers' lounge. #122edchat
A5: All goes back to being #relentless, and having the mindset that NOTHING is going to stop us or get in our way. Clear the track; we're coming through. Check out my blog about this mindset: https://t.co/BMM8NNkIAW. #122edchat
A5: Encourage and inspire. I want to highlight the great things others are doing - personally and professionally. Affirmation works wonders for me, and I want to be certain I take the time to affirm others! Just one kind word can erase so much self-doubt! #122edchat
A3: I wish I had unlimited access to university classes. I find it crazy that teachers have to pay so much money to further their education!
#122edchat
A4: Time is my eternal enemy and every principal’s foe. I need to plan better and use time more wisely to focus more on instruction and less on distractions. #122edchat
#122edchat a4 Great qus @mradamwelcome & @sheehyrw Following on my word #wabisabi I will aim for a fall down 7 times, get up 8 mentality. Keep trying things till something works.
A5. I am going to reach out to more colleagues across the country offering my support and seeing what I can do to help them grow in their craft. #122edchat
A3: I would like to have full control of intervention resources to purchase. At times the resources provide for the whole district don’t necessarily apply to the needs of my campus. #122edchat
Common theme- we get in our own way and create our own barriers. Major barrier is confidence. It’s important to remember we are fulfilling our calling, we are highly educated, and have the ability and heart to do this job- get at it! #122edchat
A2: For me it would be @ManuelScott - Meeting him in Boston at @ASCD Empower 18 and learning and being inspired to share my voice has been huge for me. Having time to talk, laugh, and learn would be my selection. #122edchat
A5
I do everything I can to lift up everyone around me. I try to be as positive as possible and I try to help others learn what their strengths are and how to be the best they can be. I am a cheerleader at heart! ❤🎉 #122edchat
#122edchat A4: Stop being overwhelmed by all the responsibilities and just jump in and do what I can. Changing and improving something is better than nothing.
A5: observe much more, providing what I hope is helpful feedback. I have great teachers; they need to hear that more often & align my feedback/praise w/ what I’ve seen them do in their classrooms. Past 2 days were a challenge to get that done, but Monday proved I can. #122edchat
A5: My goal is to tell the stories. I'm growing my podcast and planning events at conferences for those on my podcast. I'm writing a book about purpose and why and sharing those stories that can help others. Thank you @mradamwelcome@sheehyrw#122edchat
A5) I want to listen better. Not to respond, just listen. I want to recognize passions, play on their passion, and help them rediscover their passion #122edchat
A5: Give unconditional support And love, reminding them that anything is possible if they set their mind to it! Being a cheerleader, ear to listen, and so much more. I want to help others see how important and values they are in this world #122edchat
A4 The space-time continuum. There are only 24 hours in a day and 7 days in a week. There is so much I would like to do but have not figured out how to get it all done. Maybe it is not a time issue but a saying "no thank you" issue? Hmmm. #122edchat
A5. I am truly going to put others first. I am an old man who has experienced a lot. Time to help others. Especially young educators. No need to go it alone! I have a great building. Lets go further! #122EdChat
A5: I'm going to be writing and blog a lot more. In 2019 I'm focusing on only one teacher book "These 6 Things" by @davestuartjr. Hope it helps clarify and simplify teaching for me and others as much as possible. #122edchat
A5: I want to continue to work on building connections & supporting other Ts. I’m really interested in doing more mentoring & working with other Ts to create magic in their classrooms!! #122edchat
A5: I am working on approaching situations with empathy, and I feel like I’m able to make better connections and help people find their own voices by extending empathy to others. #122edchat
A5 I'm lucky to work with a team where we push each other. I talked them into stepping into the presentation ring with me. Our next goal is a community service project. #122edchat
A5: Vow to stay positive. Focus on the positives when challenges come. Positivity breeds positivity. If I do my part to be positive, it has the potential to influence others as well. #122edchat
A5 - Here is my list!
1. Continue to always be positive.
2. Say good morning everyday.
3. Be willing to takes risks that help others.
4. Try new methods of making school exciting.
5. Move to a more student centered school.
6. Focus on mastery #122edchat
A5: This has been a personal mission of mine the last few years. I have been exposing people to the things I’m learning via Twitter. My initial engagement on Twitter was just to collect info, knowledge & ideas to share. Never did I realize how I, too, would grow! #122EdChat
A5: I'm going to be writing a lot more. In 2019 I'm focusing on only one teacher book "These 6 Things" by @davestuartjr. Hope it helps clarify and simplify teaching for me and others as much as possible. #122edchat

A5: I plan to continue to encourage teachers to abandon the "box" and step out on faith when it comes to designing lessons and doing what's best for Ss! #122edchat
A5: Jumping in way late! Continue to (prof) model & share w/Ts, encourage & support. (Personally) Be present & enjoy the time I'm with my peeps/family. #122edchat
A5:Can't make them become better but can offer them the opportunity to be and do better by asking what they need that would help move in that direction. #122edchat
A5 This is the year of YES for me and I keep saying it to my staff. I want them to be creative, bold, innovative, and bring their unique talents to our students. Giving that green light has helped and brought an even greater level of collaboration to the staff. #122edchat
A3: I am so thankful for so many new programs and resources that I have to make learning fun for my students. Just wish that I have enough time with my kiddos to utilize everything I have. #122edchat
Thanks so much to @mradamwelcome & @sheehyrw for an awesome and super fast #122edchat - you are so appreciated, fellas!
HUGE thank you to @_on11 for just being Mike Mike Mike (guess what day it is)! Hugs to ya, my friend!
A5: continue to build the relationship between my teenaged daughter and I. We have both been through so much medically and emotionally and I don't want her to face the struggles alone. #ShesMyRoriImHerLorelai#122edchat
A5: I want to empower our staff in any way that I can. We have so many natural leaders. While sometimes it’s easier to do things on my own, there is real strength in watching others step up and try things and be more successful than I would have been. #122edchat
A5: Be a role model and grow them in their profession. As I always tell my staff, they are the future administrators, counselors, nurses, etc. Taking the time to mentor and provide the support for them to be successful. #122edchat
A5: Encourage and provide leadership opportunities. It’s is amazing to see my staff grow and achieve goals! Love to see them feel accomplished and proud. #122edchat
Very guilty of getting in my own head and getting in my own way. Glad to know it’s common and I’m not alone. Here’s to (self)barrier busting. #122edchat
A5: I started off the year trying to name one thing I know about all staff members and ss. The staff mem i don’t know or ss and tt don’t know anything new about? That’s where I started. But it took way too much walking so it’s on hold for now... #122edchat
A1: To think big, go big, and make positive changes, I will be making decisions from my authentic self. I started Mindful Mornings with Mrs. Dunker so that students can come in before school starts and spend some time focusing on mindful and heartful living #122edchat
Ugh I missed #122edchat 😢! I stayed home sick today and my little man came home with a 🤒! Trying to get everyone healthy and lost track of time! @_on11
Sticking to my #oneword2019 SIMPLIFY! Hoping to spend more time creating experiences and focusing on interactions! Less stuff more memories! #122edchat
Q2: If I could spend time with one living person for the afternoon, I would choose Eckhart Tolle. He is an inspiration for living the best life possible from a place of what really matters. #122EdChat
A5: I want to help others by spreading joy. Little acts of kindness, praise, and positivity can turn a day around in seconds. Spread love. ❤️#122edchat
A3: One resource I wish I had to be a better teacher would be a private jet. (Go Big) To show my students the world and the importance of loving all of humanity, would be a dream come true! I can only imagine what I could teach! #122EdChat
A5: (too late to join the chat, but what a great question) The people around me are awesome! The best way to make them better is to help them be confident enough to see it in themselves! Courageously stand up for kids together! #122edchat
#122edchat a5 Professionally I am reading more than ever before. Personally I need to find a way to keep my digital pln going when it clashes wuth work. I get a lot out of edutwitter. Plus everyday is my holiday of #books!

A4: The only thing getting in my way is myself. When I become fearful, I'm unable to make decisions from a place of love. This year my intention is to make decisions based on self-love. #122EdChat
A5: I help people around me to see their own beautiful uniqueness. Each of us have a gift to share that is unlike anyone else. When teachers and students are able to see that beauty, they shine! #122EdChat
A5: I hope people around me see a true friend in me. I hope I am able to help them realize their potential and power to make small changes that can bring about great results.#122edchat
2018 was awesome - 45 keynotes, 100+ flights, and the chance to meet thousands of educators! 2019 is booking up fast, if your school/district/conference/organization needs a speaker, please reach out ASAP so we can schedule something! #KidsDeserveIt#122EdChat#RunLAP#edchat
A5: I’m supporting my sister in running another marathon and hoping to help my team focus on our instructional strategies more than the tech and flair that goes with a lesson! #122edchat
A3: instructional coaches! Nationally they are pretty rare at the high school level, and HS Ts want and need access to coaches dedicated to instruction. #122edchat
