A1: Students writing stories about the 1920's after reading the Great Gatsby. Ss used the Strip Designer to create comic books to tell these stories. Each pair of Ss had diff topics & we put them all together into 1 ebook. #satchat
One thing I've learned to help set kids up successfully as creators is to first give them time to play with different tools (doInk, iMovie, etc.) AND guide them to making different formats more effective (podcasts, movies, infographics). THEN, any task can be a creation. #satchat

A1: For a poster project, we had students create a Visual Narrative of their work in progress using Google Slides. It was neat for me to be able to see where students do this kind of work. And visual narrative saved one group who lost the poster right before submission. #satchat

A1. In the past I’ve had students utilize storyboardthat to demonstrate their understanding of plot, theme, and how story elements interact. They thought they were just designing a cartoon based on the story but were actually demonstrating mastery of three standards. #satchat

A1 We had Ss recreate scenes from Romeo & Juliet. Some used a 360 camera to act out, some used @AdobeSpark, some used VR & coding. It wasn't about the how but it was about the what. The how just made it fun and a memorable experience. #satchat

A1 I often use @flipgrid to help Ss become better public speakers. The use of the tool gives the students the oral practice and helps them hone their presentational skills in preparation of their oral capstone graduation presentation required for graduation . #satchat

Recently, bus drivers in our state staged a “sick-out” for better wages and benefits. After reading about their issues, my students responded by creating a podcast. It was a great experience and some went on to do their own podcasts at home #Satchat

I had a student speak to the school board last night about the way that Actively Learn helped to improve their reading skills and allowed them to connect more deeply to the literature in our short story unit!
