My aha moment has been working with challenging behaviors and seeing how my calming area provides a perfect environment for deescalation. The goal is to get these students back in their classrooms so they can continue learning with their peers. #bfc530

I do use some tutorials. The roller ball one is a go to. What grade level are your kids? I have had some kids create games in Roblox. Always mean to do more there. #minecraft continues to be great for game design. #bfc530
That just as much as we as adults need time to reflect to build our own knowledge based on our experiences, so do our students. We all can move faster in our learning when we are able to slow down to reflect and connect learning to construct new knowledge. #bfc530

Our school year starts after 26 January. Staff back Monday 29 January. I’ve been back this week and worked last week with Masters students. Our school year is a calendar year. #bfc530

Best is quicker, better feedback. Content quizzes get instant FB. Ss reading/writing is online—they can do an assignment on Thursday, I can provide feedback and Ss can revise before next week starts. Helps eliminate misconceptions so much sooner. Also differentiation is a breeze!
Yes! We need students who can critically think and look at a situation and make connections to past and present events. We need students who check sources and go to multiple places to get news. We need active, global citizens. #bfc530

#bfc530 This is my first time participating! Thank you @kathyiwanicki for telling me. I’ve had several moments but two big ones was discovering the value in having a PLN as well as the value of taking time for me. Teacher self care is important.
The vast majority of my prep time is lesson planning. Most Ts look at me like I’m crazy when I say that. Every class has own needs, especially from year to year, things change. Agree that differentiated lesson activities are a must...but time consuming to plan and set up! #bfc530
