Tonight #TXHSFBCHAT is honored to have @Coach_Stone_MT leading the way! Coach Stone has enlightened us with great motivational quotes and his articles. He is working on a book & continues to give back to the profession. Let's welcome him to our network! https://t.co/GMBFihRYCl
A2: I coach football because I don’t personally know of a better avenue to raise up young people in a more relevant way. The game presents every possible situation and no matter what, it is always a must to rely on those around you! Football teaches the all to All! #TXHSFBCHAT
A2: I coach to serve, lead, and guide my guys. That in helping them grow to be servant leaders, they can accomplish the mission God has created them for #txhsfbchat
A2)It started with the love of the game. Over time the love of the kids and helping them develop into good solid young adults, became the reason. As I moved into coaching other sports, a couple that I never competed in. #txhsfbchat
A2) So many reasons to list! The ability to impact the lives of students, and a school/community. The brotherhood, the grind of the season, and the end results of hard work making a lasting impression on everyone involved #txhsfbchat
“I Coach to inspire players to reach their fullest potential both on and off the field by laying a foundation, leading by example and reinforcing good sportsmanship.”
#TXHSFBCHAT
A2: I believe in the profound impact that football can have on a young athlete. I believe that the game can build relationships, develop communication skills, and teach self-discipline and self-confidence that is hard to replicate. Also, I love my dudes. #TXHSFBCHAT
A2: Ultimately b/c it's fulfilling - gives me a chance to 'give back.' I was essentially fatherless through high school and didn't have a strong male role model growing up. Sports provided that. I try and do the same for 'My Dudes' now. #TXHSFBCHAT
A3: I, admittedly, want to get better and more detailed about how we use our time. Last year, it was
Warm-up/Stretch
Agility drills/tackling
1 Special Team a day (occasionally; didn't do enough here)
Offensive Indys
Offensive Team
Defensive Indys
Defensive Team
#TXHSFBCHAT
A1: I love the game and what it has taught me. I’m trying to teach those same disciplines like my coaches did for me. I want to be a servant leader and serve the kids, coaches, and community I work with and for to the best of my ability. #TXHSFBCHAT
I coach football because I love everything about the sport. The opportunities it has given me to succeed is astronomical. That I’m going tobe REALLY darn good at it #TXHSFBCHAT
A2) I coach football because it is important to society.I take pride in assisting with building young men of tomorrow.Countless
mentors invested countless hours into my life via football so I believe it is only right that I emulate them by investing in our young men #TXHSFBCHAT
I started reading Saban’s book “How Good Do You Want To Be?” & one of the 1st things he talks about is having a roadmap for not only your football team but also for your personal life. So I took some time over spring break to think about my road map & this is what I came up with.
A3) I have 2... Very first game I ever coached in, we won. Can never be taken from me. Other game, we lost 50-49 and missed a last second FG. Tears came, felt awful. #TXHSFBCHAT
A4: Final game of last season. Less than 2 minutes on the clock & no timeouts. JV defense got a stop on our own 5-ish yd line and drove the length of the field to hit game-winning 32-yard FG as clock ran out. Undefeated in league. I was so proud of how our kids fought #TXHSFBCHAT
A4: Too many to name! I’m gonna go with today! We ended our boot camp. I spent much of the day watching guys lead, bust their tail, and got in on a couple of drills with them. Coaching in the state title game was cool too. And I want tomorrow to beat them all! #TXHSFBCHAT
A3) My greatest memory of being a coach so far was my very first year in 2014 I was lucky enough to be on a staff with some amazing coaches and players and we won the state championship #TXHSFBCHAT
A2 my coaches were there for me and provided me with great role models and someone I could look up to during a time when I didn't have that in my life. I coach to give back and to be everything I can be for my players #TXHSFBCHAT
A4) Oh boy there’s a bunch: OT win on the road vs a playoff team who underestimated our 1-6 record. Hearing a WR say one of his greatest moments of his football life was blocking for a TD. My first year winning our only game in a mud bowl on a last minute TD #txhsfbchat
A4: Have some great game memories, but last year, lost in the first round to end the year & 2 of my seniors were standing looking over the field, I got to put my arm around them and reminisce about how awesome it’s been to be their coach, will remember that forever #txhsfbchat
Beating Texas in 2013 to win Baylor's 1st Big 12 Championship. What made it special was doing it at home in the last game EVER at Floyd Casey. It was awesome to be part of history. #TXHSFBCHAT
A4) Recently I’ve really been digging the counter trey swing RPO Oklahoma runs. I also really like running OZ away from a TE, licking the backside, and reading the BSLB with the TE running down the seam. #TXHSFBCHAT
I want my actions to be the stone that causes ripples throughout the community... for as long as they can go
I coach to try to make an impact in lives, by teaching lifeskills in ways that kids can feel... and helping them use a sport to their advantage
#TXHSFBCHAT
A4)We are down by 3 with less than a minute left. We have the ball on our 4 yard line. We are geared up for high tempo. We called a tunnel screen. Our guard blows up the corner and our WR cuts up field and goes for 96 yards. A school record. We secured a home playoffs #TXHSFBCHAT
Bus breaks down at the very start of a 4 hour trip. Game starts late. Senior night for the opposing team. We go down 28-7 at half. Storm back in the second half with the help of some strong senior leadership. Got the win on a 2pt conversion at the end. 💚 my guys!

🤔 What's an RPO? Isn't that just play-action? 😂😂😂
... All kidding aside - 20p Power w/ a backside choice route. Safety spins = throw to X in space. Saf stays high = Run Power Often. Use a bubble f/s to pull the Sam from the box. Good vs Rip/Liz (wk spin). #RPO#TXHSFBCHAT

Teams that own up to their own journey are teams that know what it takes to get to where they want to go. Find your role and accept it both as an individual and then as a team. #LiveGritty
A6) I always preach TTC... Trust, Care, Commitment. Do ppl trust you? Do you care about what you’re doing? Are you committed to the process of being great? On and off the field @Coach_CWilliams#TXHSFBCHAT

"It is well that young men should begin at the beginning & occupy the most subordinate positions. Many of the leading business men... were introduced to the broom, & spent the 1st hours of their business lives sweeping out the office." - Andrew Carnegie

A5) Being a young coach some of the best I advice I received (and still have to remind myself constantly) is you have two ears and one mouth so you should listen twice as much as you talk. Learn from the experience of wiser coaches & don’t be so quick to blurt out lol #TXHSFBCHAT
A4: Seeing my son getting praise from our HC after he played the game of his career in out Section Championship. I coach OLine and Drew's our 2B. This pic is after his 4th score - and seeing the emotion pass between coach-player was surreal. I'll never forget it #TXHSFBCHAT
A7: Obviously a plus if it’s a surprise 2pt try, especially if the score math doesn’t make sense. In which case I like to shift from our swinging gate to our PAT formation, and then fake the field goal...#txhsfbchat
A7: When I move up, I'll be putting in a new offensive system so it'll change. For now, it depends on who we have available. But I like jet sweep with our athlete to the pylon. Or go jet sweep action and run zone read the other way. #TXHSFBCHAT

A8) Teaching the coaches who coach the players when they first start (6-7). Too many uniformed coaches at the youngest level. I participated in a coaches clinic for those coaches and I think they got a lot out of it. #TXHSFBCHAT
A8) The answer is simple...keep doing the unbelievably great things you’re doing. This game will not go away if we’re not willing to let it. Don’t work harder just to work hard, just keep doing what you’re dong for these kids and Do. Not. Stop. #TXHSFBCHAT
A8: think it has to start by requiring every coach in America to be trained in proper tackling/blocking. Keep seeing states and organizations passing laws to require this, wonder why they haven’t already had this #txhsfbchat
A6) Another one of my favorite wisdom quotes & one I used in my book, "There is no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing." - German Proverb (p. 13, Chapt. 2 - Defending the Modern Spread) #TXHSFBCHAT#ArtofX

A8: Football needs to be understood to it’s core for one to appreciate it! It doesn’t have to necessarily be for you to learn to respect it and see what the game has done for millions! Players, fans, coaches, etc. There are far more positive stories than the negative. #TXHSFBCHAT
