Q7: When you attend a conference (MEMSPA, MACUL, MASSP, ASCD, Nerd Camp), what is your process for deciding which session you are going to attend over another? Do you prefer the shorter mini sessions verse longer sit-n-gets? #MEMSPAchat

Q7: When you attend a conference (MEMSPA, MACUL, MASSP, ASCD, Nerd Camp), what is your process for deciding which session you are going to attend over another? Do you prefer the shorter mini sessions verse longer sit-n-gets? #MEMSPAchat
A7: decision is made based on two things ... first based on my personally assessed needs... rare time I take a “me first” approach. Then on building/district needs. Our admin team will divide/conquer/share. #MEMSPAchat
A7: I look for relevance to what I am doing in my building and sessions that push my thinking. My goal for each conference is to take 3-4 good nuggets back to my building. I prefer shorter mini sessions. #MEMSPACHAT
A7: I first ask is this something I can use tomorrow. Next ask is is there something that I can learn about to help support another. Third, is there interest for me personally. #MEMSPAchat
A7: I definitely prefer shorter. I attend based on presenter and content based on what I can bring back to our district to make them better #MEMSPAchat
A7 At conferences, I always look for either what is relevant to what I’m doing now, where’s an area I want to grow in/program need, & sometimes the presenter’s reputation matters. Trusting your gut lets you catch lightning in a bottle too #MEMSPAchat
A7: I'm always looking for something that connects to what I'm working on within the next 6 months. It needs to be relevant and relatable. Sit-n-Gets give solid info. Hands-on usually has a longer effect. The content in the driving factor. #MEMSPAchat

A7: I think about the science teachers I work with and ask myself, how will this information benefit them? I work hard for them because they deserve every idea and resource I can find.
#MEMSPAchat
I choose based on topics of interest, input from colleagues and hot topics in education. My favorite are from people who are currently in the field and ones where you can get both motivation and quick take aways!#memspachat
Q7: When you attend a conference (MEMSPA, MACUL, MASSP, ASCD, Nerd Camp), what is your process for deciding which session you are going to attend over another? Do you prefer the shorter mini sessions verse longer sit-n-gets? #MEMSPAchat
#MEMSPAchat One more question to go...You guys are doing great. Did I mention MACUL is next month and @sigad_macul has a session just for administrators?
Q8: As we look into this broad spectrum of educational leadership and the direction that we see education moving, which areas do you feel would benefit your professional learning? #MEMSPAchat
Agree completely. The more succinct the better. It’s important not to get too excited. Just remained focused. 3-4 nuggets is all you need. Sometimes 2 is good! #MEMSPACHAT
A7: speaking of conferences I encourage everyone to come to MACUL for our sigadmin workshop would love to connect with other admin face to face #MEMSPAchat
A7) I typically review the content rather than the length of the session. If the topic connects to an interest or need, I go to that session. #MEMSPAchat
Q7: When you attend a conference (MEMSPA, MACUL, MASSP, ASCD, Nerd Camp), what is your process for deciding which session you are going to attend over another? Do you prefer the shorter mini sessions verse longer sit-n-gets? #MEMSPAchat
A7: Like all of you, I choose topics for professional growth. If it’s brand new learning, shorter is better because it allows me to get a bit without getting overwhelmed #MEMSPAchat
A8: would love to learn more about creative scheduling/class offerings across the board. Creative and impactful/effective discipline methods as well. #MEMSPAchat
A8: I want to continue to grow and challenge the status quo. Learning that stretches my thinking and gives me courage to step outside of compliance and push for kids first and always... that's what I need and look for! #MEMSPAchat
Q8: As we look into this broad spectrum of educational leadership and the direction that we see education moving, which areas do you feel would benefit your professional learning? #MEMSPAchat
A7 First I go for whatever’s most relevant to current issues/challenges/areas for growth and then for specialist content unique to that conference. #MEMSPAchat
a8: Yes @bradrobb !!! I have been struggling with how to make science and SS more intentional and structured at elementary. It needs to be at the forefront and not when we have time #MEMSPAchat
A8. continuing to connect with others and seeing what they are doing in their schools. I think that is the best PD there is. would love to get out and see others in action. #MEMSPAchat
