hi Carol! I have been trying to be really productive around the house for a couple of days. We skied at Lassen last Sunday and are heading down to Bridgeport area tomorrow for a couple more ski days. Did you have a great break? #teachnvchat
A1: My #oneword2018 was two words, fully completely, inspiring me to put forth full and complete effort and determination into whatever I do #teachnvchat
My #oneword2018 is #commit. I’ve done a lot ski training this spring. “Commit to the turn, even on a 55 degree icy slope.” IRL, #commit keeps me focused and helps me finish and follow-thru, even when its not icy! #teachNVchat
I didn't choose my #oneword til late in the game but I chose smile. I find that when I'm stressed or starting to get frustrated with .... life but esp my Ss, if I can force myself to smile, it lightens my mood & can u turn the path we were going down #teachnvchat
A2: Now that it is happening, I am fully and completely focused on finding a great job and getting acclimated to a new home. Luckily, I will have great people like @BDicksonNV & @SaraHolm15 to help in that transition #teachnvchat
A2 Smiling has definitely helped in general this Spring. in times of stress like I mentioned before but also just going about life. Smiling at people in the grocery, on the sidewalk, wait staff and checker outers. It's contagious and there's no reason not to. #teachnvchat
A2 Focussing on commit to the end has helped wrap up and end the lesson, not shout it at the Ss as the run out the door. We, as Ts, never allow ourselves to finish the lesson. #teachNVchat
Oh I love that you are having lunch with kiddos. I try to at least once a month and it's definitely different w kinders than w older Ss but they just LOVE it and it's such an easy way to spend time with them! #teachnvchat
A3: With a new job (that I am yet to get), I have to be fully and completely committed to build relationships in a new school, a new district, a new city #teachnvchat
I have really tried to work more whole group reflection time into i.e. the end of centers. Sometimes I pause lunch for a minute if we need to regroup after a bit of chaos. And I love @responsiveclass closing circle at the end of the day #teachnvchat
#teachNVchat A3 I am going to try to stay “present” with my family and my Ss even with the enormous amount of things that are going to happen in the next 7 weeks. I want to be in the moment for each important event.
A3 💗 that we return to it. I let it slide at the end of break and that affected my outlook and attitude. Looking forward to finishing strong! #teachNVchat
Want to share your ideas for the chat? DM @teachNVACS and let us know what you'd like to talk about & if you'd like to co-moderate with us! #teachNVchat
For sure! I think it sounds silly but I've taken to planning/scheduling in time that is dedicated to everything that's important to me. I can't always stick to it but I like knowing what my intentions are #teachnvchat
