I would want @ShakaSenghor to visit our class. Typically reluctant readers, the boys have devoured his book and TED TALK. His story and transformation leaves room for them to examine and find their own. #BFC530

I love a visit from any community member with a story our Ss can relate to. A few years ago we had @Malala visit and that was pretty incredible!

Kids need to know that writing is about planning ...taking that inspiration ... that vision ... and making it come to life ... and then going back and editing it to make it better. #bfc530

Instead of an author visit, I would love for youth that are creating amazing change in our world to be able to visit our school. The great thing is that with technology, we can have the closest version of this through virtual exchanges. #bfc530

Indeed! Doing the maths,the students you teach today at say 5yo, will enter the workforce circa 2034. Assume they work for 40 yrs will retire around 2074/75.Assume they start their family circa 30yo (2043), they’ll start school in 2048 &enter workforce 2064&retire in 2104 #bfc530

Def a HS-&-up author, but @janetevanovich would be a real treat. Humor, pace, voice, witty dialogue. Plus, a #jerseygirl! @wenmass’s Every Soul A Star is a personal fave. I have a few Qs abt writer’s craft for her. @Avi3writer is a 3rd. Incredible historical fic!
