things are moving forward, the timetable is becoming more colourful... in this school year our students from grades 8 and 9 can choose #GlobalGoals as their subject
#teachSDGs#worldslargestlesson
Everyone can be a #goalkeeper! A #goalkeeper is within each of us once we start taking action for the #GlobalGoals. #TeachSDGs using the #WorldsLargestLesson’s free creative resources to enable children and young people develop their own Goal-related change projects
A1: for me it’s positivity, enthusiasm, action oriented, advocate. We need many to make change a reality but those come to my mind first. #GoalKeeper#GlobalGoals#TeachSDGs
Eeep! Forgot to intro. I’m Allison from Ottawa, Canada. Algonquin territory. I’m a #TeachSDGs Cohort 1 ambassador & believer in a better world for all. @TheWorldsLesson#worldslargestlesson

Desire to act begins with the 💗. When Ts spark global empathy, engagement follows.
Ss & Ts can then work together to identify action opportunities, both local & global. Sharing results broadly will expand emerging feelings of empowerment.

Welcome to our latest twitter chat. This year it’s all about taking action and we are so excited to hear what you’ll be doing for @TheGlobalGoals and #WorldsLargestLesson. Introduce yourself and let us know where you're from!
A2. Action in isolation is powerful. Action in collaboration with staff, admin, district, media, & politicians is transformative.
Highlight the value of #GlobalEd, empathy & service to humanity -- precious TIME to act deeply can then be secured.
#TeachSDGs#WorldsLargestLesson
A2: we need to show action & empathy ourselves as educators. Open dialogue w/ people around the world & not dismiss small actions leading to big change. @TheWorldsLesson#worldslargestlesson#TeachSDGs
A2: Tap into student & teacher passions. Highlighting *local* actions using the #GlobalGoals is a solid starting point.
Connect the willing and make a concrete (but realistic) plan. Be careful not to preach, just teach the process.

Authentic PBL and design thinking linked to SDGs. It works and can go division or school wide. Localize targets and kids develop compelling questions.
A2: Lessons (units) that lead students to make personal connections to the goals and space to develop their ideas into active solutions. #Stakeholders#TeachSDGs#worldlargestlesson
A2 : we need to show them that their action is important, that their action is usefull for the community and for themselves. #worldslargestlesson#TeachSDGs
A2: Model it. Start by showing our Ss small ways they can create change in their own circles (in their classroom, with their families at home, etc.), and how that works to meet the goals for all of us over time. @TheWorldsLesson@TheGlobalGoals#TeachSDGs#Worldslargestlesson
A2: Ts can encourage their Ss to start small, leading to greater impact later. Even little ones can learn things like conserving water! #worldslargestlesson#TeachSDGs
A2: Because we believe that we can change the world from very small action; therefore, education is the key to student action, student future
#WorldsLargestLesson#TeachSDGs
I use the video from @TheWorldsLesson introduced by Emma Watson, and pupils love seeing that children around the world try to change the world. They feel it is possible to make a change even if you're young ! #worldslargestlesson#TeachSDGs
A3. @TheGlobalGoals offer a path that all teachers should aspire to walk. Engagement.. Empowerment.. Action. Reach the end of that path & students will be far more likely to keep walking (& leading others) long after they've left our classrooms.

If learning is only about standardized grades and pleasing the teacher, we will have failed this generation.
Students who actively serve humanity and seek to better understand their global home become adults who will do the same.

A3: The value of taking action is building self-confidence and momentum for further growth and action! I watched 3rd-6th graders leading change by the end of one semester! #TeachSDGs#worldslargestlesson

Knowing the world's issues will trump ignorance, not hopelessness.
Knowing the world's trend lines will sprout hope, not heroism.
ACTING on @TheGlobalGoals forges superheroes who refuse to stand aside when fellow citizens are in danger.

Today, I look to @EmpaticoOrg to spark similar journeys.
