I tried Microbit after having failed with using Arduino. They were more complicated with many parts and code. Microbit was easy to learn and teach. Kids loved them!! #NYCSchoolsTechChat
A1: I think this was a great year! I learned a lot and feel like the @sibfsc accomplished so much! One success is starting to support creating new learning spaces for Gen Z, including in schools & in our new #BPHoS#NYCSchoolsTechChat#inspireD31
A1: Today was a great day. I was able to design and facilitate our first Technology PD - teachers teaching teachers #NYCSchoolsTechchat . So far the feedback has been great!
A1: I did alright, tried some new things, attempted some new adventures sometimes failing sometimes succeeding. I think I may have (and still am) slightly overextending myself. #NYCSchoolsTechChat

Really using @TobiiDynavox and @boardmaker to its full potential. I have never used their full on AAC device Indii combined with Boardmaker Online and it has made a huge difference for the students in my class. #NYCSchoolsTechChat

How many classes do you normally see in a year? I think my max in 1 year was 27, but I got to see them so rarely that it was hard to feel impactful. #NYCSchoolsTechChat

A1: There is always so much we want to accomplish, but I am proud of all the schools we've supported in their #EdTech journeys esp. around @GoogleForEdu#nycschoolstechchat
Our Sessions included: Basic Google Docs, Advanced Google Docs, Google Classroom (my lesson from last years NYC Schools Tech Summit :-)), Skype/mystery classroom, Flipped Classroom, Breakout Edu, sites and a session for paraprofessionals! #nycschoolstechchat
A1 - Success is coming up with a system to scale trainer teams to help #nycschoolstech educators become experts in the use of tech resources they love to enrich teaching and learning. #nycschoolstechchat

I started off wanting to get my portfolios online but it was way to big of a task. I feel like I get shiny object syndrome with new technology sometimes. I need to focus on certain technology and try not to add to many more pieces unless they are truly needed #NYCSchoolsTechChat
I had some goals for writing and some for more outreach with other teachers that life got in the way of but at least my own kids still remember what I look like and want to hang out with me-#goodproblems#NYCSchoolsTechChat
A2: Aren't we our own worst critics!I feel short in managing time spend with specific books I wanted to use in my practice this year along w/ tons of other things I can share right now lol #NYCSchoolsTechChat
Q2. I think I relied too much on tutorials for some programs. It’s hard to create a lesson though when some kids are working more quickly while others don’t get it. #NYCSchoolsTechChat
A3 I stayed on top of grading work this year. I think my students stayed on top of their work because of the quick feedback. Thanks @Skedula#NYCSchoolsTechChat
A2: It was very hard balancing the demands of teaching and at the same time meeting student needs by designing lesson to meet them. #nycschoolstechchat
With my students @Flipgrid really helped me helped them improve their social emotional learning. For me @RemindHQ really helped me increase my parent communication. #NYCSchoolsTechChat
A.3 I got some teacher buy in! 5 Google sites and they did their own presentation for today without relying on me to do it - and they asked for more tech PLCs in survey #NYCSchoolsTechChat
How were your students using @Flipgrid for #SEL -sharing thoughts with each other, weekly affirmations, self-introspection? All sound good #NYCSchoolsTechChat

A3: An area of improvement would have to be feeling more comfortable hosting PDs. That is thanks to all of my awesome @SIBFSC colleagues who I learn from daily, reading a few great books, & attending other PDs! #NYCSchoolsTechChat#inspireD31
We go over our mood meter on Flipgrid. The students then respond with ways to help their friends if needed. We talk about ways to be kind. Also, we role play and provide responses. We use a lot of visuals but it really has helped the kids work on skills. #nycschoolstechchat

Q4. I would probably grade projects in a more timely fashion as you did. I think they probably be more accountable. And I need to give due dates. #NYCSchoolsTechChat
I see what you did there with that clever play on words-and thank you for the impetus. I still regularly look back after that last STEM Institute (and the many things before) that you positively challenged me on. #NYCSchoolsTechChat
A4. Organization - I put systems in place but I'm not very good at sticking to them. Next year, I'm setting aside time solely for getting to dos out of my head. #NYCSchoolsTechChat
A4: I would have started my student eportfolio data analysis with flubaroo much earlier. Our student eportfolios should be done, but they are not yet! #NYCSchoolsTechChat
If like to: improve lesson planning and project time with due dates and improve on additional assessments rather than just projects. #NYCSchoolsTechChat
A5: looking for new ways to personalize learning and improving student connection to their background, also Trying to connect with and effectively share/help other educators #NYCSchoolsTechChat

Q5: Schoolwide: More PD's and integration of technology into our school curriculum. Classwide - utilizing more technology to enhance student learning. #NYCSchoolsTechChat
Q6. I’d say that by reflecting, we tend to be able to focus on planning for future lessons knowing what worked and what didn’t do as not to repeat the same mistakes. #NYCSchoolsTechChat
The last two events I have gone to your name has been floated around so I truly believe you are helping and influencing others in and out of the classroom. #NYCSchoolsTechChat

A6: honestly my biggest takeaway recently has been collaborating at conferences. I love going to different meet ups in the city like today #EDxEDNYC & in the past @InnovateNYCedu & @NYSCATE and meeting educators from all over NYC! #NYCSchoolsTechChat
