A1) We extend our energy to others on a daily & often intense basis; we must refuel through care that re-energizes & supports this
our tank runs dry and we have nothing left. https://t.co/AWXLmzmNpO
Q1: Why are intentional & radical self-care & self-compassion important for educators?
A1: Have to take care of yourself to be the best for your Ss.
A1: teaching is one of those jobs with quick burn out easy to over stress and dwell on missed opportunities or (perceived) slights
A1:Sometimes you need to get away from school to clear the mind and take care of 1s self mentally, physcially, and spiritually.Recharge
A1: we have to have all of these for ourselves if we are to teach them to our students. And I do believe that's part of our jobs
One of my fave books is by Passionate about self-care esp. for teachers.
My pleasure. Great book. Blog post Wednesday. Written and ready to go. ππΌπππΌππΌ
A1: if we want to be our best for our Ss then we need to feel our best
A1- we can't take care of others unless we take care of ourselves too.
A1: Put your oxygen mask on first, before helping others.
Putting ourselves before others will help us help our kids.
A1 If we don't stop to take care of ourselves, our care of others becomes subpar.
A1: As I learn, when you can't take care of yourself, you can't be there to teach and guide your Ss
A1 Teachers must be refreshed, focused & joyous in order to provide leadership, love, laughter & learning to kids. Take care of yrself

A2: So we have the energy and enthusiasm to be able to give back to our profession/families/community https://t.co/ejFcTDefFB
Q1: Why are intentional & radical self-care & self-compassion important for educators?
A1: In order to be the best your Ss you must be at your best.

True! And not just our Ss, but our families and friends too! https://t.co/8aYQQ8Ubuh
We have to take care of ourselves to be our best. We must be present! The Ss deserve nothing less than our best.
A1- If one doesn't recharge the batteries during break, an energetic and passionate teacher will be less likely in the fall
. A1: we need to self-care all summer to make up for all the caring for others we do all school year.
A1: has to be intentional because there aren't tons of ppl out there whispering, "don't forget to do you, too"
A1 you must fill up the gas tank after a long haul or else the car will go no further. https://t.co/nxuVonbiH7

A1: e others. "When our cup is full, we have something to give." We are more energetic, positive, caring and ready to serve others.
A1- you should always leave any negative baggage outside of the classroom. However, things like energy and health are always with you
A1 We need to live well in order to teach well or we burn ourselves out: balance = sustainability https://t.co/VaSRhcquvk
