Tell us more about this idea of team-teaching w/self
A3: Feeling a bit all over the place as far as goals; hoping some reflection time (and chats like this!) will give new perspective.
A3: I would also like to Skype with a friend's class who will be teaching in Spain. It would be awesome to learn from each other!
Which program / site are you going to use. Camtasia is awesome but pricey. https://t.co/ZnF7KOx5Ss is a great one too.
Have you tried for geography?
I hadn't heard that. Def must see. Almost all of my Ss said it was their fav book we read all year.
A3 I really want to take advantage of Mystery Skype and Virtual field trips through Skype and Discover Ed.
Q4:Great news on your goals - we have time NOW! How will you use your time this summer to meet your goals? https://t.co/mxtBK7G6aD
Not yet! I just Googled it and it looks like a fantastic tool. Going to look more into it tonight. Thank you!
A3: A more consistent and coherent approach to PD. I've considered Flipped PD. Any ideas or references?
Each summer try to id key elements that are priority for instruction & focus on keeping focus when yr gets crazy
A4 I plan on taking two days a week and focus on school and lessons!
my kit just arrived. Can't wait to use it! Have you used it with your kids? Tips?
A4: Prepare PD curriculum. Create/find practical tools that meld with conceptual tools.
Yes, a fantastic tool & not as complicated as I thought; also used Padlet for slower version of ?/answer
A4: I plan on taking at least two nights and one day to work on my goals for next year!
A4 - I schedule my family & friend time first, then fill in the rest with reading time, planning, thinking creatively & RESTING!
A4 I want to set aside an hour each morning to study and read articles
A4 I may need to make myself some goals for each week because I have been still in the "dreaming" stage. I need more "doing"
Okay, flipping idea ; has good ideas about that
A4 Excellent balance! Unfortunately, I schedule the other way. Thx u for the reminder!
A4: I'm going to do some professional reading this summer at the beach! (Any recommendations? TLAP is on list) & work on my website

A4 I may need to make myself some goals for each week because I have been still in the "dreaming" stage. I need more "doing"
I never want to miss out on an event because I was over-working! Life before career! I still have time for work! :)
That is what I am trying to do also. With Grad school and school my family has put up with a lot this yr.
Checking Padlet out tonight too! Thank you so much
Finished the grad school thing in Dec. Know what you mean! It does get better!
Just passing on what's been passed on to me :-) Let me know if you want to connect classes for fall
A4: Summer's still new for me. Will take couple weeks to let thoughts drift, then begin reading pd and planning.
Balance is always on my "work on this" list
Q5: As you prep for next year, do you contact next year’s Ss? If so, how & what do you share? https://t.co/qbCkpFW5uO
A4 - I'm taking time to think about core practices that will get me biggest return on my investment. Do a few things really well.
I actually wrote this question just so I could use this meme!
A5 I love this concept but usually get my class list just days before the first day. Interested to see what you all do
A5: Don't get our S rolls until Open House but keep in touch w/former Ss via & good old-fashioned post cards
A5: I give new Ss e-mail and classroom Twitter address. Ask them to intro themselves.
A5: Always liked the idea of it. Always get class list the day of Meet n Greet, so...
A5 - We don't find out our finalized class lists until the day before school starts. :(
A5: Due to moving from AIS Educator to graduate Student Teaching, I don't have the ability to contact Ss this school year
A5: But I look forward to seeing how some of you will reach out to them!
Visible Learning for Teachers is a great asset for this. Easier read than Visible Learning
A5 - I will be creating a of the room so students will get a sneak preview of OUR classroom.
We don't get the "Final" until day bf Back to School night. Make a call to each student as soon as the list is final
We did 3 sessions this yr. Ss loved them! Most listed it as a highlight. Super fun and engaging.
A5 Hoping now that we have school # & class Twitter page that Ss & families will check out what's been going on in 5th;
That's a really neat idea. I've been wanting to explore ; Thanks for sharing that
Pros & cons I guess. Builds excitement for teachers but limits Ss contact to build their excitement
A5: I like to mail a letter to each student. OId School
That is a great idea. I think I am going to have to do that also.
Nothing like getting personal correspondence in the actual mailbox :)
I do the same thing. June - Congrats letter July - My "Why I teach" postcard Aug - Final reading challenge. https://t.co/5uUOXn6kvf
A5: I like to mail a letter to each student. OId School
Like the ideas presented, don't know my students until back to school night
1st time I saw it, I thought of Ps and Ss that can't attend schedule pick up. Makes them feel included.
Great minds :) What is your final reading challenge?
Would love to hear more about the Final Reading Challenge!
is one of my FAVORITE apps - I use it all the time! My kids really enjoy it as well! https://t.co/8uBaz8xHx4

A6: Spend time with family and friends, traveling, and biking to the beach. The summer is a much needed refresh button!
A6 Lay in the grass, listen to the wind blow, gaze at the sky - That's summer!
A6 After Summer School just rest and then spend time reflecting and planning
A6 - Twitter chats are quickly topping my list. I love being able to collaborate and then have TIME to think about implementing.
A6 - I spend time at the pool with my niece/nephew, read a TON, lose myself in brainless activities, travel, EAT, play tennis, etc.
A6: Outside education: I like to binge watch at least two shows and I read A LOT that I do not have time for during the year.
A6: Take time to turn off teacher brain and just be... Then read, read, read. And follow my Twitter PLN for new ideas. Thank you
