Hey there #122edchat! Kim Lohse here from Addison District 4. Always excited to join this group. Huge shout-out to anyone who joined us for #ILEdchat September 3. Hope to see everyone on October 1st at 8 pm for the next one!
Hello #122edchat family. Melissa 7th Grade Science from NY checking in. First day with students today, so I am tired !!!! I just can't miss this chat with awesome EDUleaders! Need some juice to get me through the week!
Hello #LastingLearning and #122edchat crew. My fingers are ready to do some fast typing for mutlitasking 2 chats tonight. Steph Dill, elementary SPED T in Colorado.
Phil from Northern Virginia. I teach 6/7 US History I&II and am the founder of #waledchat (Thurs @ 9pm ET) and #Edusations (Youtube). Happy to be here for #122edchat!
Hhi folks, Vanessa Heller here: #inquiry#pbl and #GiftedEd trainer, middle school humanities teacher, ELA Dept. Chair, Tech Innovator, Peer Coachβ¦. from Southern CA. #122edchat
Hello #LastingLearning and #122edchat crew. My fingers are ready to do some fast typing for mutlitasking 2 chats tonight. Steph Dill, elementary SPED T in Colorado.
A1: #122edchat might be my proudest "creation." But I'm also incredibly excited about a major creation to come - the #SEGwarriornation STEM Lab, which will be born in 2019!
A1: I created a digital system for tracking our intervention time at my old MS. It took a lot of out of the box and "what if" thinking, but now it is a thing of beauty (in my opinion lol) I used Sheets and formulas but combined them in a new way #122edchat
A1 I added an βawareness > advocacy > actionβ trajectory to social studies as a #SocialJustice focusβ¦ applies to any content area really. @kkibteach helped me realize this path. My quest is to make #inquiry#PBL about making a difference instead of making a project. #122edchat
A1: We got into podcasting years ago to connect the community to the school. Instead of reading announcements, we turned it into a real talk show featuring student voice and production, as well as cutting humor. Not everything has to be ultra-serious all the time. #122edchat
A1: Though not a new concept, I along with our district innovation committee held our first Clarke Innovation Conference last year. 45 different sessions and both @E_Sheninger & @tamaraletter keynoting!
#122edchat
I had students create collaboration space out of wood and cinder blocks. Designed, built, and used by Ss. They made a reading box, benches, and a coffee table. #122edchat
A1.2: Too often, when I approach activities in school I think, "Ugh. I hated learning about _____. We need to make this better!" This is the scary flash point when creativity breaks loose and fun begins. Status quo and the traditional, fixed mindsets don't care for me. #122edchat
A1: After collaborating with @HistoryislifeDC, I designed a "Westward Expansion Twitter Chat" for students utilizing Google Classroom. Students loved it! #122edchat
A1: The music teacher and I discussed a way for our K2 babies to be involved in our chorus, so he created a K-2 singing club! Itβs ππΎ awesome! #122edchat
A1: Something we began this year & thought of as a team was to begin a mentorship program through clubs on campus. Students were hand invited to a meeting & during Club Rush picked 3 clubs they are interested in, we will hold a "match day" for the kids to meet mentors #122edchat
A1: Teaching using the Grid Method @teachbetterteam pedgaogy this year. It takes what I used to do in small pieces, but transforms it into something much grander and forces more student accountability, but is different & scary at the same time! #122edchat#TeachBetter
A1 Evidently the whole TQE thing is my thing! Student choice and voice stared for me about 9 years ago. Maybe a no HW-quiz-test HS ELA course is my newest thing? #122edchat
A1 When I write, I often have different versions of the same event that I combine and change to become a new story that I had not considered. #122edchat
A1.3: Repurposing department level meetings by moving the discussions to @voxer. @Rdene915, you got me last night in #TeacherMyth about connections. I'm pitching the idea to our Science department on Friday. So many creative ideas to share, so little time to meet F2F. #122edchat
A1: Last year I had my Kinders make sticky notes to cheer people up, we posted them in the building and they disappeared off the wall so fast. Unique to our building and something that kids needed! #122edchat
A1. I sent an email to my SPED Director asking if we need to do and IEP Excusal form for an Administrator. Sounds kinda lame, but in all my years I have never heard this question. #122edchat
A1- I began working on making SLC possible for ALL Ss within the traditional school setting. Best part- it was completely run by the Ss and family members #122edchat
A2- Creative resources are important, but not all Ss or even Ts feel comfortable being creative. The environment has to lend itself to this model (relationships, modeling, trust, etc.) #122edchat
Q2: Gura states:
βCreativity resources can do a great deal...however, on their own...cannot make students creative.β
Do you agree or disagree and why? #122edchat#creativity#stuchoice
For the new year, I have created a Diversity Club to include all members of the LGBTQ+ community within my school building while including those of different races/backgrounds in hopes of teaching others, students and teachers alike! #122edchat#LGBTQteacheradvocate
A1: Newscasts from Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome using WeVideo and greenscreens. This was a few years back, but went in full force and I was extremely proud of the work the Ss did. #122edchat
A2: Agree. WE have the power to spark curiosity and, subsequently, creativity in our students. It's part of our job to provide the space for kids to practice being creative, a la #TLAP and @burgessdave. #122edchat
In KG I used to get in HUGE trouble for talking during nap time (Mom never made me nap!) so my music T made me the first ever K-1 S in the 6th grade glee club! Was a life changing experience as music has always been big part of my life! #122edchat
A2 If you have a restrictive, even a punitive classroom culture and the teacher holds all the control, then it doesnβt matter what resources you have. Creativity doesnβt flourish in fear and restraint. #122edchat
Q2: Gura states:
βCreativity resources can do a great deal...however, on their own...cannot make students creative.β
Do you agree or disagree and why? #122edchat#creativity#stuchoice
A1: I created a classroom environment where my students feel safe to nerd out about math! We get loud, we get excited, we fail, revisit, revise and succeed! #122edchat
A1b - I started a faculty yearbook page about 4 years ago. We make a page with quotes from all teachers about what they wish for our students.
A2: 100% agree! Creativity is not something that can be copied and pasted. It is something that you find, nurture, and explore on your own. Students can find resources that spark creativity, but they must be given freedom and time to learn the creative process #122edchat
A2: Resources are just that; they are supplemental. I put salt on my fries because it makes them taste better. I'd be foolish if I ate a spoonful of salt. These items are not the source of creativity, but enhance the product to take it further, make it louder/better. #122edchat
A2 Yes and no :) I think that some tools can help spark some ideas that promote/enhance creativity, but I know for myself, I don't feel creative, sometimes need a little push #122edchat
A2: I agree that resources alone won't make someone creative. Creativity comes from within, from belief and from inner wonder. It comes from inspiration.
#122edchat
A3- There are a few chats I participate in regularly including #122edchat & #kidsdeserveit. Twitter is a great place to connect with other educators via direct message, too! #SuptChat
A1 I remember inviting the ES teacher and her students to my 7th grade science classes to participate in and experience hands -on labs such as dissection.... the early beginnings of co-teaching in our school #122edchat
A1b - I started a faculty yearbook page about 4 years ago. We make a page with quotes from all teachers about what they wish for our students. #122edchat
A2: I agree, resources can help give you a map to follow but you need a mindset to be able to pull the map down and follow (or take an undiscovered path!) #122edchat
A2: I'm going to go ahead an agree with this statement. Creativity for some (like me) comes with grit and a growth-mindset. It is more than simply being naturally creative. #122edchat
A1: I enjoy creating songs & chants to support the learning in my classroom! I like taking theme songs & repurposing the lyrics to tie in with our content! Itβs awesome when you hear the Ss singing the songs on their own! #122edchat
A1- maybe not new but not having homework... just received an email from a parent telling me her daughter read on her own- not because she HAD to! Isnβt this what this is all about? π #122edchat
A2: I'm in the middle as I am on most issues....ha...However, as an elementary teacher I think we need to give our Ss more time to explore those resources #122edchat
Q2: Gura states:
βCreativity resources can do a great deal...however, on their own...cannot make students creative.β
Do you agree or disagree and why? #122edchat#creativity#stuchoice
A2: on the fence!
Is it about creativity or is it about Ss being willing to take a "risk" to try to be more creative instead of "playing the game of school"?
Create a safe place for creativity to "fail" even with the most wonderful resources that inspire creativity. #122edchat
Q2: Gura states:
βCreativity resources can do a great deal...however, on their own...cannot make students creative.β
Do you agree or disagree and why? #122edchat#creativity#stuchoice
A2: Resources are just that; they are supplemental. I put salt on my fries because it makes them taste better. I'd be foolish if I ate a spoonful of salt. These items are not the source of creativity, but enhance the product to take it further, make it louder/better. #122edchat
A2. Creative resources are just tools. That being said, I think just seeing creative things makes most of us, students included, think in different ways! #122edchat
A2: Students come in with so much creativity. (Old) School thinking takes away creativity and makes students conform. I believe that creativity alone is not enough, but should be celebrated. Other resources are needed to support creativity. #122edchat
Q2: Gura states:
βCreativity resources can do a great deal...however, on their own...cannot make students creative.β
Do you agree or disagree and why? #122edchat#creativity#stuchoice
A2: Not sure this applies to all students, but certainly there are some who, in addition to resources, may need the caring and encouragement of a mentor-figure or role model to unleash their creativity. #122edchat
I am trying to catch my breath, hahahahahahaha! I saw your text, and just haven't had a chance to respond. One of these ours, maybe 14 o'clock in the morning, I will have time. Later, for sure. #122edchat
A2 - I agree. All of these tools are just that, tools. Students who find those tools interacting, fun and engaging will then develop creative ideas that connect to real world learning. #122edchat
A3- I love using tech tools in new or inventive ways. Google Slides has so many uses. Use it to create e-books/magazines, combine it with Screencastify to create a video or audiobook, make an infographic or poster...I could keep going. One of my favorite tools! #122edchat
Q3: See image
Share any projects or activities you have done using some of the digital tools available? Or how could you use one of these to promote creativity?
#122edchat . #edtech#4OCFPLN
A2 Creativity can be modeled! A lot of people think they arenβt creative, but usually they are just afraid to take the risk of looking silly! We create the places kids can be creative and model it through our classrooms and lessons! #122edchat
A2: I agree, without some knowledge of the resource or how to use the resource then it will end up on the shelf just as some of the other good resources that some donβt use. #122edchat
A2. Agree. The students need the input on any assignment. You cant force creativity. Just because I develop a highly creative assignment does not meant the students will be creative. #122edchat
A2: absolutely! Resources, tech, systems, and the "latest PD" don't teach anything - people teach, teachers teach, fellow Ss teach! Ss become creative when the walls come down and they feel comfortable/free to express themselves #122edchat
Q2: Gura states:
βCreativity resources can do a great deal...however, on their own...cannot make students creative.β
Do you agree or disagree and why? #122edchat#creativity#stuchoice
A2: Creative resources are great for both Ss and Ts but without the teaching of those resources, students can become overwhelmed. Whenever introducing or using ANY new resource, we must model how to use such a resource. #122edchat
A3: @scratch provides endless opportunities for kids to showcase creativity while learning how to code. Excited that my new group of students got to start experiencing it yesterday! #122edchat
love seeing what the Ss create, and it often gives me new ideas for use later, or I just ask them about it, great conversations and relationship building #122edchat
A2: I agree. Resources are just tools for the students to be creative, but it is the teacher's responsibility to pull that creativity out of the students in ways it'll help them master curriculum and grow in a subject. #122edchat
A2: Resources are just that; they are supplemental. I put salt on my fries because it makes them taste better. I'd be foolish if I ate a spoonful of salt. These items are not the source of creativity, but enhance the product to take it further, make it louder/better. #122edchat
A3: I think https://t.co/nC7DaMcKKY offers a ton of opportunities for my kids to think outside of the box, Iβm also looking forward to diving head first into using Seesaw to build and showcase creativity #122edchat
A2 I don't think creativity is necessarily spurred by "things." I think it is more likely to be unleashed when the mind feels safe and free to wander and jump off the ledge. #122edchat
A3: @WeVideo is such an essential gateway for students to explore their world and share their voice. Each one of us has a story that is worth sharing. @WeVideo ups the production value and equips their users with the tools necessary to have immediate success. #122edchat
A3: I am a huge proponent of giving tools as options and allowing students to find their strengths and use what they feel is best. That being said - I LOVE @GoogleForEdu since there are so many options #122edchat
A2: I think the resources can help spark some more creativiety in Ss. I realte to making blankets. I don't create anything original, I take bits and pieces from others. Resources can do that for students as well. #122edchat
A2b - Creativity is a tough concept to address. We do tons of innovative ideas in class. Some students are naturally outside the box thinkers. We need to be careful about what we define as creative. #122edchat
A3: Hoping to have access to Adobe Spark for Ss this year. As a T, I used it to create stimuli video intros for the new @Flipgrid Explorer Series #matheMAGIC w/ @SEANJFAHEY
I see these tools being simple to use as my Ss determine how they want to publish their work. #122edchat

A2 I don't think creativity is necessarily spurred by "things." I think it is more likely to be unleashed when the mind feels safe and free to wander and jump off the ledge. #122edchat
A3: Had students use Google Sites to create a Roaring 20s website for the Museum of American History, Slides to assist in our Turn of the Century Shark Tank, Classroom for our Westward Expansion Twitter Chat. Excited to use a Digital Breakout next week using Forms. #122edchat
A2 Creative resources donβt make for a creative child but those resources can help free a creative spirit. My students will experiment more with interesting resources at their disposal #122edchat
#122edchat
A1: Something of my own? Hmmm. I will comment on how I continue to marvel at Ss who feel comfortable enough in an environment to wonder out loud, often quite 'out there' (i.e. creative). I think Ts encourage by showing respect for these, avoiding immediate judgement.
A3.2: Practical use of @WeVideo. A couple years back with @megan_hacholski, we taught the Periodic Table through the lens of Reality TV. Ss had to script, record, edit their element(s)' story. The connections and lasting learning created were incredible. #122edchat
A3 Going no tech. I like kids up & moving, talking, making & thinking to demonstrate what they know. I do a βsensemakingβ activity where kids build their answer to a driving question or concept with recyclables/trash (but no glue, tape, staples) as formative assessment #122edchat
Q3: See image
Share any projects or activities you have done using some of the digital tools available? Or how could you use one of these to promote creativity?
#122edchat . #edtech#4OCFPLN
A2. I think it's about our Ss wanting to take risks and express their ideas and uniqueness in creativity! Everyone's brain works differently! We need to encourage the Ss to take those risks!#122edchat
A1 (This idea isn't original; but, we have to make our own version every couple of years.) We designed one-of-a-kind stationery from our new kindergartners' self-portraits. We'll use for pricesless picnic invitations, thank you notes & letters. #122edchat
A3: I give students the opportunity to create ways to show their knowledge through their favorite apps. They choose an app and then create a plan to use it creatively to show growth. #122edchat
Ah, yes, I am amazed at what Ss create, and when I didnt even consider the possibility, they design these really awesome representations of learning in new ways #122edchat
A3: Non-digital--Picture Notes where Ss create a set of notes from their understanding of readings to remember important ideas.
Digital--#Flipgrid responses, writing songs, poems, #scratch, #WeVideo. #122edchat
Q2: Gura states:
βCreativity resources can do a great deal...however, on their own...cannot make students creative.β
Do you agree or disagree and why? #122edchat#creativity#stuchoice
A3: I give students the opportunity to create ways to show their knowledge through their favorite apps. They choose an app and then create a plan to use it creatively to show growth. #122edchat
definitely not about the tech, so many ways to be creative, love that there are options to repurpose materials, use traditional materials or a mix #122edchat
A3: Our students use Padlet in ELA classes to conduct class discussions and post evidence found in the text to support the learning standards. It provides a way for Ss to participate if they don't feel comfy sharing out loud in class. #122edchat
A3 I sometimes ask for something βspecificβ like βmake a videoβ or βposter,β but no other specifics. Sometimes, choose the best way to communicate what youβre thinking (Inspiration Project). Canva, screencastify, Piktochart, video apps, even music programs. #122edchat
A3: I'm finally using Screencastify this year to record notes for students. Flipgrid, wevideo, and this year my Weebly site I'm trying to use more often. #122edchat
(A3p2) my class is not 1:1 tech, so many of the things I see other Ts on twitter mention I'm not sure if/how I could implement. I'm open to try though - slowly!! #122edchat
Hi all! Kristen here late because it was my sonβs meet the teacher night! But I canβt miss this chat! Oh, and I didnβt do any lunges today but I did learn some new tricks in PT today. #122edchat
A4.1- YES! Tech gives some of our Ss a voice. I've heard from Ts that some Ss who don't necessarily like presenting in class, love to record to their thoughts on Flipgrid or Seesaw. Reluctant readers sometimes also enjoy listening to stories on their devices. #122edchat
Question 4: We know that technology is not always the answer, but it can be a catalyst for learning, for motivating students and for creativity.
Have you personally had any experiences where tech made the difference for you? #122edchat#edtech#learning
A3 - I love Flipgrid for its ability to allow all different voices from students. Also, padlet can be a great way for students to interact and connect ideas. #122edchat
A3: @renathunderhawk has started live video announcements this year @MapleWarriors and there is a plan to see about expanding this into classrooms where projects and presentations could be broadcasted. Also green screen videos are a must! #122edchat
Q3: See image
Share any projects or activities you have done using some of the digital tools available? Or how could you use one of these to promote creativity?
#122edchat . #edtech#4OCFPLN
A2: Picasso needed nothing more than a canvas and paint to be creative. Tools are a way to express your creativity not a means of being creative. #122edchat
A2 Being creative means youβre thinking about things differently. It means you look for different ways of doing things, different ways of seeing things. It means never settling for ordinary. It means searching for extraordinary, & not stopping until you find it. #122edchat
Q2: Gura states:
βCreativity resources can do a great deal...however, on their own...cannot make students creative.β
Do you agree or disagree and why? #122edchat#creativity#stuchoice
A4: To kick off my Digital Skills class, I asked students to create a drawing that finished the sentence "My digital life is like...." with similes - when I told them they'd be doing it in Google Drawings instead of on paper, they were instantly hooked! #122edchat
A4.2- Even though I work in tech and love tech...I am also a huge believer that we cannot throw away traditional forms of learning. Pens, crayons, glue, paper, actual books...tech should never 100% replace these. Find a balance...#122edchat
And you guys are reaping benefits of investing in culture over curriculum to start the year. Trust me, I see the dividends EACH DAY. Love 7th Grade! #122edchat
A3: We have teachers that sponsor our coding club after school...however, they use the @Sphero during class to teach measurements and geometry! #122edchat
A3b: Here is one pix of a group's "sensemaking" answer to a scario about controlling flood waters and surviving through simple village life in Mesopotamia. They had several factors to consider in constructing their answer (literally). #122edchat
A3: For some this may be basic, but I have introduced Google Drawing to students to become more creative with their Chromebooks when working on projects. It has eliminated the frustration that Google Docs brings with designing/creativity. #122edchat
A1: I go completely all out for my kidsβ birthday parties. Combined Sports and Thomas, Lego Star Wars, tutu cute, and winter Onederland were my favorite!!! #122edchat
A4: YES!! I had a very diverse group of Ss last year, so creating 1 and done projects/activities did not go over well for them. Tech allowed me to give them the same device - but their options on tools was so expansive, each Ss was able to do something different. #122edchat
A4: I am a big proponent of @GoogleForEdu and the many things that can be combined with it to make amazing learning experiences for Ss and Ts.
#122edchat
A4: Going back many years, but when we made the case to offer G-Suite here, we built our case on the fact that it opened up doors of opportunity for Ss to collaborate and engage around the clock and even when school was closed. It opened doors to be more creative. #122edchat
A3. I had used ipads with ideo clips of Ss answering questions of their science projects going beyond the expement! The what if's, what may happen, what would change? We made it into a movie and put clips on youtube. #122edchat
A4: Twitter has made the difference in my professional growth. Learning from a variety of educators with different strengths and perspectives has made a difference for me. #122edchat
A2 It is up to me to do all I can to foster imagination, confidence, inspiration. I can showcase and smile all day long. But, a child's risk-taking and ingenuity are not only up to me. #122edchat
Youβre too good to me. And thanks for you support yesterday. The one thing I think we miss is giving students time. Iβm also sure our attempts to be helpful impede the creative process, too. #122edchat
A3 - I love Flipgrid for its ability to allow all different voices from students. Also, padlet can be a great way for students to interact and connect ideas. #122edchat
A4 Definitely, helping me to provide more engaging learning activities and to create more with the language and make it more visual, engaging in that sense #122edchat
A4: Cue the broken record.
The use of technology became the vehicle for getting Ss to share their math thinking with their Ps.... and have the Ps comparing the way they learned math to how their child understands it today. @Flipgrid is the vehicle. #122edchat
Question 4: We know that technology is not always the answer, but it can be a catalyst for learning, for motivating students and for creativity.
Have you personally had any experiences where tech made the difference for you? #122edchat#edtech#learning
A4 - Just using Google and Canvas LMS has been huge. Makes assessing work easy, quick, transparent and fun. Tools like quizlet, goformative, peardeck, padlet and others allow for large group assessing and interactive lessons that were almost impossible before. #122edchat
A3- no digital- students sketch noting during read aloud- digital-using google slides for so much more than I knew and @Flipgrid for responses, getting to know each other and sweet messages from parents too! #122edchat
A3 Iβve been enjoying using Google Keep. Itβs seems to be a great way for Ss to keep track of project pieces, deadlines, etc, while working individually or with a group. #122edchat
A4: Since we began a focus on Close Reading and using annotation tools with Google Read & Write and Newsela, students have learned to interact with text on a deeper level. It is great to see the kids highlight & underline important info #122edchat
A4 tech has made my life as a teacher exponentially better, but the advice to always make sure Iβm using tech with a purpose was worth so much more! #122edchat
A5- One of my all-time favorite sites is @cultofpedagogy. She has some terrific ideas for using technology, but also shares a lot of solid teaching strategies. If you've never visited her site, you must... #122edchat#ASD4all
Question 5: here are many resources including books, blog posts, podcasts and videos related to Creativity.
What are your βgo-toβ resources or what is something you have recently found that you can share?
#122edchat#4OCFpln@hollysking
A4: With my districts recent Chromebook upgrades for staff, I find my ASUS Flip C302 Chromebook has allowed me to be more effecient with creating and editing activities, providing feedback, & classroom management. #122edchat
Same! I was so impressed with how my middle schoolers worked with all of this stuff! My hope is when they get to high school they can become even more innovative! #122edchat
that is what makes #edtech purposeful, when it gives choices, variety, engages students, promotes student voice, more meaningful products of learning #122edchat
A5: @jmattmiller is probably one of the coolest AND smartest people that I have ever met and heard speak. His wealth of knowledge, that he freely shares with the educational community FREE OF CHARGE, is overwhelming and voluminous. Connect with what he is doing. #122edchat
A5: The digital @breakoutEDU that I borrowed from @MrsGeekChic sparked a major bout of creativity for me & got me excited about the possibilities with Google Sites. Shared in the tech training I led last Friday with staff! #122edchat
A3: After reading THUG, students used @Flipgrid to create videos to demonstrate their understanding of a social justice movement discussed in class. #122edchat
A4. @Flipgrid has been such a positive addition to my classroom. Just a great way for kids to send me info and save class time. Really do know what I would do without it. #122edchat
A1 (This idea isn't original; but, we have to make our own version every couple of years.) We designed one-of-a-kind stationery from our new kindergartners' self-portraits. We'll use for pricesless picnic invitations, thank you notes & letters. #122edchat
A4: last spring my Ss REALLY got excited learning FL history/ tourism industry by creating a @Flipgrid to survey Ss from other states why they'd want to visit. @msyoung114 and @megan_hacholski had their Ss respond and my Ss were in AWE!... #122edchat ....
Question 4: We know that technology is not always the answer, but it can be a catalyst for learning, for motivating students and for creativity.
Have you personally had any experiences where tech made the difference for you? #122edchat#edtech#learning
A4p2: not only did my Ss learn their FL social studies standard, but they learned so much about diversity by seeing Ss of different cultures they don't normally encounter in our small town (such as young ladies in hijab - sparked excellent conversation!) #122edchat
A4 For me, the ability to integrate all kinds of video - stories, music, commercials, interviews, lessons taught by experts, TEDTalks, etc. Not a fancy answer but bringing in video has been an awesome way to go beyond the textbook and classroom. #122edchat
Question 4: We know that technology is not always the answer, but it can be a catalyst for learning, for motivating students and for creativity.
Have you personally had any experiences where tech made the difference for you? #122edchat#edtech#learning
A4; One student who never talked in class, not even to me, had a chance to do a #flipgrid . It was literally jaw dropping when I heard her talk. I was so happy, I was crying. Tech gives students the chance to be heard. #122edchat
Question 4: We know that technology is not always the answer, but it can be a catalyst for learning, for motivating students and for creativity.
Have you personally had any experiences where tech made the difference for you? #122edchat#edtech#learning
A5 - I love Twitter!!! Connecting with a PLN is transformative. People might not see that, but meeting positive and innovative educators is how we learn and grow. #122edchat
A5 Recommend #learnlap#tlap and Make, Learn, Succeed by @mark_gura for a lot of ideas. Twitter and Voxer are great spaces for learning new ideas #122edchat
A4 I think the moment I noticed the impact technology could have on Ss was when I flipped my classroom, started using individualized lessons and personalized learning, and introducing many different tech tools that opened various learning opportunities for all Ss #122edchat
Question 4: We know that technology is not always the answer, but it can be a catalyst for learning, for motivating students and for creativity.

A3 I made a loaded Google Slidedeck for parents with a ton of links to all kinds of information. It was so fun to make and I'm so proud of it. #122edchat
Hi friends! Wish so could chat right now, but this is my world! Working #MomMode, getting ready to buy HS school supplies bc I just got home a bit ago! Can hopefully chat more next week when itβs the 2nd wk of school! #122edchat
A4.2: For me, through these chats, I have learned so much about different resources. I checked out lots of these resources, trying to figure out how I can use them in my classes. #122edchat

A5: After time spent exploring Pinterest and Teachers Pay Teachers, I stopped exploring creative resources online and instead reaching out to my paraprofessionals to help me with creative ideas and projects. #122edchat#whatsmineisthers
A4: @DoInkTweets green screen videos as a final writing project component in @WARRIORS1st class last year had Ss writing not one but two stories so they could create more! #122edchat
Thanks for an awesome chat #122edchat - it was amazing as always!
Don't forget to head on over to #fearlessedchat next as we discuss books and reading :-)
A4 Tech has made a huge difference for my Special Needs students to share their learning (animations, Bunceeβs, Flipgrid even Siri and Google Speech to text) #122edchat
A4: Our teachers use @ClassDojo very effectively to help reinforce positive behavior in our building. Itβs also a terrific communication tool! #122edchat
A4 parents loved @ClassDojo last year when I posted picture updates. There's lots of great apps for Ss. I like to also explore the apps like DoJo and @Seesaw that alone for that parent interaction. Parents aren't always able to join in person so this tech is important #122edchat
A5: a lot of times my go-to is my twitter PLN! (Sometimes I just can't remember who posted "it" though LOL). My Mom likes to find stuff on Pinterest - but I can't get into it. I'm more a get on the floor with chart paper & markers and figure it out myself type. #122edchat
Question 5: here are many resources including books, blog posts, podcasts and videos related to Creativity.
What are your βgo-toβ resources or what is something you have recently found that you can share?
#122edchat#4OCFpln@hollysking
A5: Huge fan of #LEAP Lead Like A Pirate & the Growth Mindset Coach. I have LOVED using Twitter #edchats to find new friends for my #PLN Looking for all of the support & motivation out there! #122edchat
A4 Collaboration Screens changed everything for us in the BEST ways: increased discussion, increased collaboration, a willingness to revise, students taking the stage and sharing knowledge which increased autonomy, confidence, and community. #122edchat AND it was affordable!
Love the chat! Letβs always remember that any tool or tech is only as good as the instruction and relationship behind it. Just giving students different ways to learn has to be about βhow is what they are learningβ going to enhance their life. #122edchat

A4 I am learning so much from my colleagues and those on Twitter. We're in the midst of introductory coding challenges - and are looking forward to adding the tech! #122edchat
Got to run! Thanks for an amazing chat. Please consider joining @MrsHopp126 as she moderates her first #teachpos chat this Sunday night at 7:30 pm est. RT to let others spread the positivity. #122edchat
A4: Tech gives quiet students a voice! I see a whole other side of some students when they are allowed to use technology to showcase what they know. #122edchat

I give students a certain number of choices, but if they suggest a different one that's cool too (as long as it meets the criteria of course). If I leave it too wide open, the kids freak out. #122edchat
A5. I often find different things when I'm researhing for some unique ideas in problem solving to relate to Ss. Sometimes, it'ss an idea, other times an experiment I might design, or find! #122edchat
Hyperdocs changed my world, it's such a great package for assignments and encourages collaboration. Also if you use them all the time, it gives consistency. #122edchat

A process which allows students to LOVE reading & discussion while increasing their skills and decreasing work for everyone, students and teachers! @cultofpedagogy gave me the opportunity to share it! The podcast is 45 minutes but lots of info! https://t.co/LIMN4kijeI#122edchat
A5- A resource I recently found for fostering creativity is @OKGoSandbox. It has amazing starter lessons for exploring different avenues of creative expression. Every subject can use what is there. Educators- check it out!! #122EdChat#RSIpln@RSIHawks@okgo@HSE_21
