Time is running out on “Terracotta Warriors of the First Emperor.” This historic exhibition is on view at The Franklin Institute through March 4, 2018. https://t.co/kVAgBAXLgm
Hey #arvrinedu. Thanks for leading @jamesmccrary! Mike here from NY. Tech Integrator/TOSA. Love exploring new AR/VR & potential creative learning opportunities they offer.
Q1. Tonight we are going to dive into GPS data and how it meshes with our friend, #AR. But first, think about your experiences with Geochaching. If you have done Geocaching, share your favorite story. If you haven’t, tell us what you know about geocaching! #arvrinedu
Hey #arvrinedu Rachelle here in Pittsburgh, wishing I was at #TCEA with some awesome people and @JaimeDonally especially! I teach Spanish and STEAM and have had a day full of #AR#VR fun
#ARVRinEDU Hi this is Joyce Whitby @jwhitby1 from NY andI related to this I Love Lucy gif... because I always find myself doing the "splaining" for the Lucy's in my life :)
Q2. If you haven’t already figured out from the discussion or Google, Geocaching uses GPS data to drop markers (caches) digitally for others to find…kinda like a scavenger hunt using GPS. How can this type of technology benefit learning? #arvrinedu
A2 I could see this involving problem solving, inquiry, collaboration and perseverance. Doesn't sound easy but sounds fun! Are there certain subjects this works better or does it have #breakoutedu type reach to all content areas? #arvrinedu

A2 Geocaching enables Ss to apply knowledge of numbers, geography, can learn about environment, work as a team, gets Ss up and moving, problem solving, #ARVRinEdu
#ARVRinEDU A2 - You can use a tool like 3DBear for ELL students to tag objects in the room as they learn new vocabulary, and they can 'find' those tags with the AR in their App... more engaging than flash cards, and they can give people a 'tour' of what they have learned...
A3 even though I am Android ;) i checked out the App info and am impressed that it promotes use with Teachers or Parents and has lots of potential to get Ss active, is a safe learning tool, definitely potential to create more engaging experiences for Ss #ARVRinEdu
It WAS crazy popular. Like a flash mob. As far as I gather, it still IS popular, just not as "busy." I don't think this will be the last we see from them and/or other things just like this. #arvrinedu

Q4. Time to play (if you can). Click Create > Wonders of the World. Tips: outside is better & smaller playfield is easier. If you’re able to play, your thoughts. If not, tell us some ideas for using this app w/Ss based on this @waypointedu vid. https://t.co/L7Ucf4p91W#arvrinedu
Q5. While #ARkit is in it’s infancy, good ideas are coming out everyday for #AR but aren’t always polished. What other functionality would you like to see in @waypointedu? I know they would love the feedback! #arvrinedu
A4: Ss can create their own clips with advice and memories to place around a school campus - great way to leave a legacy and introduce new students to the history and culture of a campus. Like ghosts of students of the past! #arvrinedu

Got the app! ...am I supposed to get out into the snow and this 18° weather for Q4? I am going to need some in person assistance. Up for winter in NY with this app? Haha #arvrinedu
That is definitely a barrier. I hope smart phone engineers eventually move away from GPS assist and towards full GPS so cellular isn’t needed. #arvrinedu

I'm not actually crying in the photo. That is just my eyes watering from the cold and wind here. Ok, maybe they are tears of #arvrinedu joy. Lol. Neat app! Searched through the snow for The Colliseum.
