On Saturday, October 27th, our school will be hosting its first EdCamp! It will be hosted in our brand new UCC Acosta Middle School, which is a new school specializing in STEM education and providing hands-on experience in the trades to students on the southside of Milwaukee. We are excited to host our first professional development event in this beautiful and modern space! This is our first year organizing this event and we are very excited by the positive responses we have already received from educators and leaders in the southeastern Wisconsin area.

In order to understand how to teach middle schoolers have to first realize they are kids ... they are not adults. They make silly mistakes ... hold them accountable, but do NOT crush them. #edugladiators
A2 The best way is to connect with them at lunch, recess, in the halls, before school, and in their classes. If you know what makes them tick, you can connect the content to their passions. #edugladiators#edcampwalkerspoint

A3 I have face to face support with our staff members and virtual suppport through Twitter. But my go to is the Voxer PLN who provide suggestions, support, and an opportunity to vent. #EduGladiators#edcampwalkerspoint
#EduGladiators A3: the teachers around you deal with the same students and may be facing the same challenges. Use them! Admit when you are struggling and find strength in honest conversation with colleagues
