I have been sharing lots of tech tools for parents to use with their kids at home! Things that are fun and engaging, while still being educational. My class loves Brain Pop junior and nearpod. #fcsvanguard

I post activities and information on my weebly. Also, the students just had a project where they posted their weather prediction videos to seesaw. The kids and parents loved it! #fcsvanguard

I am so impressed with seeing students at some of my school as young as first grade using Seesaw. @alexanderWES15 students always blow me away when I see them use Seesaw. So many other wonderful teachers who use it with their Ss!

I am glad! #FCSVanguard Some of ours don't, but we have been inviting them in and talking to them at the car rider line, as they are walking them in, etc
A3: I just whipped out an over the top unit on classism, financial literacy, and poverty + our SS unit on Apartheid -- students have to do interviews w/ their parents and watch films at home. I'm including parents in the learning. #fcsvanguard

We have quite a few teachers that come to the carpool line to have a quick chat with parents. As the METI, I don’t have a class. I mostly use twitter to communicate with parents. #fcsvanguard
Q3: The Remind 101 app and Class Dojo have proven to be great tools for reaching many parents in a snap. We have utilized these tools to keep parents abreast of upcoming events, quick win strategies, and the many tools at their fingertips. #FCSVanguard
I find that the kids do like the tools that allows flexible pacing, collaboration on different levels, as well as choice in demonstrating what they have learned. Nearpod and Sway have been great for my students. I can’t wait for our school to have Office 2016! #FCSVanguard

A3: My "go-tos" for chorus have been @edmodo and @remind! They are life savers! Great for Ss & Ts. Also my blog & Google calendars for class updates! #fcsvanguard

A3 As a TAG teacher, I haven't had a lot of incidents where my Ss weren't engaged. Only today when the #Braves mascot and drum line visited our school. My Ss were so excited! #FCSVanguard
My number 1 way to avoid burnout is to prioritize tasks. Have designated times when you work on specific tasks. Ex: we have graded papers go home every Thursday, so that’s a Wednesday morning task each week. I have to stay organized to manage it all. #fcsvanguard
A4: Stress free?? HA! What is that? lol. Normally when I get super stressed in my job that means that I need to up my instruction to be even more over the top than it already is. More fun for the kids & me helps ease the stress. #fcsvanguard

A4: my class loves brain breaks and choice in activities. It’s not a cure-all, but I have created contracts of must-dos and can-dos with choices on how to get it done. Some are group and some are independent activities. It helps keep them active and interested! #fcsvanguard
A4: I also find little ways to bring peace and serenity to my classroom environment. Using only one set of lights, playing relaxing music, opening the window, etc. #fcsvanguard
It's been pretty good. I'm working out some kinks for my first time. But, I'm loving it! They come in with the base which makes it much easier to begin doing the work. Accountability (and access) is key. #FCSVanguard
A4 #fcsvanguard We provide a space in the Media Center where student can come to work or relax with friends. Sometimes we even have therapy dogs visit!
A4: "Stress free"? Never gets to be stress free. We just celebrated Pi Day @Camp_Creek_MS to give the Ss a break. Several PBIS activities planned for the last week before Spring Break. #fcsvanguard

Extremely important! Love the concept of goal setting. I think teachers also need to remember the value of 1:1 T/S meetings to talk about "How it's going"? "How did you feel about your work?" Etc. #fcsvanguard

A5: I try to minimize paper collections. 1- I keep assessments stored digitally now... no more file folders spilling over haha. 2- using digital tools and assignments to collect data so you don’t drown in papers! Love nearpod for this. #fcsvanguard

A5: Edmodo was my friend especially when I tried to go paperless one year. #fcsvanguard another app I loved was a scanner app to scan any worksheets. @nearpod also helpful
I’ve been thinking, it’s tough sometimes to communicate with Ps because they aren’t as tech savvy, but soon these Ss will be the Ps, and this communication will become even more effective. #fcsvanguard
A5 #fcsvanguard We use Google Forms and share files digitally whenever possible. I'm trying to use One Note for any personal notes as a good model for teachers and students.

@YazzyKORS A5 #fcsvanguard Special Ed has decreased the amount of paper use by stopping copy making of files that can be located online through EASY/IEP. No need for duplication! Starting to run IEP meetings interactively, reducing multiple copies.
I loved having kids use the “share” button in office365 when I taught 4th. They loved getting to put special messages to me in there when they’d use the share feature! Cracked me up!! #fcsvanguard

A5: I use different technology tools such as Microsoft forms, quizziz, brainpopjr., google docs , etc to reduce the amount of paperwork and assess students. #fcsvanguard
Doctopus and Goobric are tools to help grade docs like GoogleDocs. Allows you to easily add comments, grades, and then transition to the next Ss' assignment. #FCSVanguard

A6: Ideally, I try to give feedback as the Ss are working. On-the-spot helps both them and me. Sometimes I create a GoogleForm that has built-in remediation so students can receive immediate feedback and additional instruction. #FCSVanguard

I provide an unequal balance of positive feedback to my negative with the PreK. They are just learning and growing so I try to direct them in the right way, while teaching them to make improvements but careful not to crush their spirit.
Q6 The beauty of having the Ss share documents in 365 online with the ability to make edits, is that I can give feedback right in the work. Ss can see the comments and make changes if needed. All collaboration is done right in the documents. It’s been easy breezy! #FCSVanguard
A6: I give oral feedback at the reading table. My next step is to have them set goals for themselves and give them regular feedback on THEIR goals thru conferencing. What can b tweaked? I want to be more responsive 2 their journal entries #FCSVanguard
Being mindful and prioritizing tasks makes my job so much less stressful. When dealing with stress in the moment, I remind myself to do one thing at a time. I purposefully stay on top of things that must get done. #fcsvanguard
A7: #fcsvanguard I have the students reflecting on their behavior...what character traits they are showing. I feel when they’re reflective it can help keep them on track!
