A1. The year in is off and running! Still seeking paraprofessionals to fill several vacancies
Bloomingdale has approximately 1,300 K-8 students.

Q2. Did you get all your positions filled this fall? How many are left?
That is what we are talking about tonight! Welcome - How many employees do you have?
has appx 400 staff and just over 4,000 students.
A2: Just wrapped up hiring for my building and district. Last person started Monday.
A2: Like I am short on paraprofessionals, but D13 has over 100 certified staff teaching up a storm.

K asst. Due to numbers needed to open a new section after start of school. Asst went to teacher and backfill
Q3. What positions were the most difficult to fill this year? What did you end up doing?
A3: Bilingual teacher and assistants. Word of mouth found us what we needed.
A3: The two hardest for D13 over the years are certified school nurse and licensed paraprofessionals

We didn't offer incentives, but our staff is terrific & talk abt our vacancies. We often turn to them for help

We are reviewing boundaries which will impact our school district (staff, students, etc).
Q5. We have a new fingerprinting machine that is user friendly and saves us time in processing our new employees.

A7: Develop your PLN, build that network, ask questions, join (not necessarily in that order)
