Push students to new levels of creativity.Once students have a deeper understanding of the answers they’ve found, push for creative application of that knowledge. This could be anything from challenging students to pose in digital platform

@ContempoIssues#EdShareAsia A1. Visuals are often more powerful than words, the attached pix shows what we need to teach our children as digital citizens
Kids feel misrepresented by the news
Nearly 70% of the tweens and teens who took part in the survey said they feel that the media have no idea about the experiences of people their age.
#MSFTEduChat#EdShareAsia#TweetMeetPL
A1: Yes! We cannot teach something effectively if we do not know. Keeping ourselves updated on how our Ss use tech & being comfortable on what we know & don’t know abt tech. We should be willing to learn. #EdShareAsia
#EdShareAsia A -1 we are going to touch 21st centuries and make the world globalisation without digital experience as a teacher we can not handle our leaners ! TweetMeet also the one aspect of digital literacy’s output! Is not it?
Definitely yes - as it’s been said that teachers who don’t use techs will be replaced with those who use it. Teachers should have the knowledge and digital literacy to protect students’ privacy and how to use the digital tools effectively for learning. #EdShareAsia
A1 #EdshareAsia It will be needed as a new era of new generation We both need to learn together, both teachers and students because nobody face it before
Ans2: Ss to be guided by Ts and parents to understand the difference between speculation and fact. Also it can be done by 1. Bring social media into the classroom 2. Teach your students effective Google search skills 3. Showing your Ss how to evaluate the source
#EdShareAsia
Ans.1: @klnamya children's interests are inclined a lot towards technology in the present scenario. Thus, it's the need of the hour to captivate there interests via digital literacy making it a job requirement for educators.
#EdShareAsia
A2: The biggest harm occurs when it affects people’s lives directly. Living in a country with natural disasters, we often use SNS to collect information about the disaster area. But fake news often bring confusion and affects our life directly. #EdshareAsia
Fake or highly unreliable news stores are manufactured by partisan protagonists, or those who are out to make a quick buck, and distributed on social media, including Facebook and Twitter, now the primary source of news for many people.
#MSFTEduChat#EdShareAsia#tweetmeet
A1. It makes sense to assume that the more digitally literate our teachers are, the more they'll employ these skills in the classroom, which will in turn foster a strong sense of digital citizenship in our students. So digital literacy is must.

I think you should absorb it and also see the other side of the argument. If you disagree, you can take it in and use it for your own knowledge,
Stop spreading Fake News
#MSFTEduChat#EdShareAsia#tweetmeet
A2: It divides society; to those who believe & those who don’t. History becomes contentious, when in fact it shouldn’t be, as it should be the truth. Don’t we owe our Ss that? #EdShareAsia
@ContempoIssues#EdShareAsia A2. Knowledge actually gives you power. So ss need a safe environment 4 guided practice in using digital media & this is possible only with a digitally literate guide/teacher
A1. It makes sense to assume that the more digitally literate our teachers are, the more they'll employ these skills in the classroom, which will in turn foster a strong sense of digital citizenship in our students. So digital literacy is a must #EdshareAsia@klnamya

In my opinion, it is the responsibility of all to educate the students about the issues and news...No doubt curriculum and education are associated with it but role of teacher in bringing awareness is very crucial....@ContempoIssues#edshareasia
@ContempoIssues#EdShareAsia A2. Most people often google info & go 2 d first few results they get on d serach engines. These can easily b manipulated 4 various reasons & hv determental effects like the recent spate of lynchings in India bcoz of fake news abt child abductors
A3: Not only in my country but also in other places, developing critical thinking skill will work. By constantly asking “why” and looking for some resources, we can distinguish the correct ones from fake ones. #EdshareAsia
Ans:2 @klnamya revisionism in books is generally for a rational reason to get rid of orthodox mentality and plethora of online tools give the option to children to verify the historical facts thoroughly and to be factual.
Hence,it isn't really detrimental.
#EdShareAsia
#EdShareAsia A-3 In Bangladesh our government has made a Children’s website which name is “Kishore Batayon” it is very helpful for their learning because who’s age is 11 to 20 years they can join there and by share and collaboration, competition they learn many more,Itseffective
A2 Fake news from variety of sources may hinder the well equipped mental tool of students. The risk of maintaining social balance increases. One should be given good understanding of what constitutes Fake news vs Real news. #EdShareAsia
A3. teaching media literacy skills has quickly become a top concern educators. As Ss increasingly access news online from online sources, Ts are tasked with building the skills their Ss need to recognize bias in the media and verify news on social media&news feeds. #EdShareAsia
#EdShareAsia A.4 we are teaching children to test ,filter, test again before they fully trust any information and facts.I tell them to check sources beforehand
Ans 3: @klnamya Curriculum has changed by leaps and bounds to stop the flowing misinformation by being factual, however I feel there are still pitfalls in being the active education system.
#EdShareAsia

A3 An overview of teaching strategies, lesson plans, resources & ideas might be valuable as you teach your students about the dangers of Fake news.#EdShareAsia
Ans:4 @klnamya whatever is taught should be taught in spirit and not in letter.therfore, for students to be informed the 'whys' should be there and not the imposed facts.
#EdShareAsia
#EdShareAsia A3. Govt of India has started Digital Saksharta Abhiyan (DISHA)/National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) 2 provide digital literacy to every Indian, by making 1 person in every family digitally literate is 1 of d integral components of PM's vision of “Digital India”

In reply to
@deepikamiglani, @klnamya, @ContempoIssues
A4: Why not involve ubiquitous devices and social medias in classes? Like Ts show 3 news, including 1 or 2 fake news at least, to students and have them distinguish which the true news. Ss learn better if they experience it for real. #EdShareAsia
A5 Fake news is making news & it's a problem. This gives media literacy skills to navigate the resources. I stand against it. It gives negative impact of media literacy & academic levels are tested. it should be stopped.#EdShareAsia
We must begin to prepare young children to become healthy skeptics in relation to online information as well as the skills required to read and evaluate the source reliability.
