In the classroom, don't just explain the objective. Explain why THIS lesson is necessary. If you cant, don't teach it.

Transparency is all about communication. Say what you mean mean what you say own up to mistakes
This is increasingly important with older students especially in teaching critical thinking and questioning skills

I think when we explain our why, we foster support and trust, the foundation of any strong relationship.
Admin, bring your people together and explain why structural decisions are made. Adults appreciate knowing why.
I think keeping an open door policy and inviting others in sends powerful message.

Thats the problem with education. We focus so much on content and not the why of the content.

in a history classroom it's a little easier to get to the "why" of teaching/learning by asking how it applies to today.
Part of transparency for kids is owning up when you've messed up. That way they know you're pushing them but also pushing yourself.

Open-door policy. Being the first to communicate the pos/neg. Allow their concerns to be heard - find solutions together.
Foster an environment where the main goal is simple: Student Success. Once all on same page, transparency should come easier
