Run by Iowa educators, #IAedchat is on Twitter the first, second, and third Sundays each month at 8:00pm CST. We have added #IAedchat LIVE to the fourth Sunday of the month at 8:00pm CST. This will take place in Google Hangout on Air. We will share the invitation and link to #IAedchat LIVE each month.
Hi #iaedchat family! Nick Duffy, Principal of Jackson Elementary @Jackjetscrcsd in Cedar Rapids, IA. We have a great chat ahead! Who is ready for Spring?!?!
Randi. Alt-ed science teacher / interventionist from Ankeny. Im all snuggled in and warm at home. And on antibiotics and steriods since apparently I have had bronchitis for 2 weeks 🤦🏽♀️😷 #iaedchat
Hello everyone! I'm a student at Chapman University working to get my degree and teaching credential. I love history and want to teach high school students one day. Tweeting from Orange County, CA! #IAedChat
Randi. Alt-ed science teacher / interventionist from Ankeny. Im all snuggled inside away from the snow. And on antibiotics and steriods since apparently I have had bronchitis for 2 weeks 🤦🏽♀️😷 #altedchat trying a two chats at once tonight because I love both topics! #IAedChat
Gary, former Supt in WI & Il, now a trainer for CHARACTER COUNTS! realizing that desired SEL traits does not come from what Ts do occasionally, but what they do consistently #iaedchat
Terese signing in! Excited about discussing one of my favorite subjects! As we look toward Tier I, Universal Supports of Social, Emotional, Behavioral & Mental Health Supports - SEL is key!! #iaedchat
Q1: It’s becoming quite evident that the 3 Rs aren’t the only important things to learn about in schools today. How do we change the script to embed a focus on social-emotional learning? #IAedChat
A1: Working with schools today - this has never been more clear than it is right now. We need to focus in embedding SEL into everything we do. Empathy… Self-regulation…. Problem-solving…. Being a kind and caring human….. #IAedChat
A1: We set aside time to focus on SEL as we start our day. However, SEL is not confined to a time on the schedule. Effective SEL is embedded throughout the day, across content, across settings, as kids need it. #iaedchat
A1: We have to look not just at academics, but the "whole" child. They need both academics & SEL knowledge when they leave school. We need to make time in our day for both.
#iaedchat
Q1: It’s becoming quite evident that the 3 Rs aren’t the only important things to learn about in schools today. How do we change the script to embed a focus on social-emotional learning? #IAedChat
A1: 1. data and reasoning behind embedding SEL, 2. easy ways for it to be done (T’s already feel overwhelmed), 3. lots of modeling for what it looks like to be in a school that includes the 4th R- relationships! #iaedchat
A1: I think we start by working with our adults and kids through the #SEL competencies. Use teacher teams to determine how to intentionally embed SEL throughout the whole day. Coach teachers on developing themselves and monitor student outcomes! That’s my brief summary #IAedChat
A1: Social and emotional learning serve as the foundation for everything that we do. We must serve the hearts of kids before we serve their heads. It's not something we do, it's who we are as educators. #IAedChat
A1. Fund SEL with teacher training and allow for a shift from academics primary to meeting the Ss at their needs level. It can’t be one lone wolf T doing it but a district shift. #IAedChat
Q1: It’s becoming quite evident that the 3 Rs aren’t the only important things to learn about in schools today. How do we change the script to embed a focus on social-emotional learning? #IAedChat
A1 SEL Needs to be apart of every lesson, in every staff members (YES, staff! Not just teachers!!!!) minds, and be a language among students. We as educators need to stop ASSUMING student “know” skills or SEL concepts and teachh them #IAedChat
A1: We must intentionally
& actively integrate social, emotional & academic learning w/ instruction on desired skills
& competencies to prepare our students for life #iaedchat
A1 SEL Needs to be apart of every lesson, in every staff members (YES, staff! Not just teachers!!!!) minds, and be a language among students. We as educators need to stop ASSUMING student “know” skills or SEL concepts and teachh them #IAedChat
A1: By incorporating SEL into academics & providing opportunities to build SEL skills throughout the day. EX: As you read a story, point out the feelings of the characters, model problem solving & self regulation, have open convos about friendship, hold class mtgs, etc. #IAedChat
A1: We know it's not coming from home, so, we need to bring here, into our lessons, our schools, and most of all ourselves. We need to lead by example. #iaedchat
A1: By incorporating SEL into academics & providing opportunities to build SEL skills throughout the day. EX: As you read a story, point out the feelings of the characters, model problem solving & self regulation, have open convos about friendship, hold class mtgs, etc. #IAedChat
A1: I believe the best way to start is to implement SEL wherever possible. Examples include working it into existing subjects, make learning environments welcoming, implementing more accepting school policies, etc.
#IAedChat
A1: The key is to know our students. We must invest time in who they are and how to help. We must offer grace when learning goes astray. #LeadChangeEd#IAedChat
A2: When am I most engaged? When I have an emotional connection. You want engaged, reflective, thoughtful learning- make it personal. Build social/emotional intelligence through your own vulnerability. Kids need to know that adults haven't always had it together. #iaedchat
A2: We have had a strong focus on proficiency and a lesser focus on emotional well-being. We need to find more of a balance. SEL isn’t a carved out ½ hour of the day, either. It needs to encompass similar language among all adults and students throughout the day. #IAedChat
A2 wow, where to start social media and its instantaneous posts and feedback coupled with the ever increasing diversity of our world make it imperative for us to expose kids to and educate them about. #iaedchat
A2. Because of VUCA. Things are volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous for students more today than ever. They need skills and strategies to help them be self managing and self directed. #iaedchat
I agree! I fear SEL will become a way for opportunistic curriculum companies to make money selling pakaged curriculum without a focus on what kids need. #iaedchat
Self regulation is just as critical for adults as for kids. Based on some of the stuff I see on Facebook, there are plenty of dysregulated adults walking around. We can't expect kids to be experts at navigating life, esp when they might not have a model at home. #iaedchat
A2. Academic expectations from schools and families were unchecked and everyone paid the price. Ss need to learn how to cope, connect, and forgive. #IAedChat
A2: Our entire life hinges upon these skills. We must help practice and learn in a safe environment as young children. As they get@older the stakes get higer in a sense of urgency. We must teach and model every single day. #IAedChat
A2 Soo many S's don't have the background to express their feel and to plan move forward. Exc Skills is one of the significant areas lacking in many S's. #iaedchat
A2: S’s have many interactions with each other & T’s throughout the day- group work, lunch, recess, etc.-to interact well in systems, S’s need those skills to be successful. Today’s world is more intense than ever, those skills will help S’s be successful beyond school #iaedchat
A2 self-regulation: getting ss ready for that “real” world. Work. College. Anything!!!
Empathy: teach about other people! Relating and respecting others.
Desion-Making: “you are smart enough to do this. I trust you.” -teacher to student #IAedChat
A2: From my experience as an administrator & now trainer, I see the benefits of schools that emphasize SEL especially in terms of improving relationships,
reducing bullying, & preparing Ss for postsecondary education, work & life. #iaedchat
A2: Students need to practice their own SEL skills daily- as well as see good modeling by adults in the school; when they leave school sometimes they don't have models at home to show how to self regulate or express their feelings.
#iaedchat
A2 SEL is a life skill. Our goal isn’t to produce content regurgitators but humans that can work together and make the world around them a better place #IAedChat
A2: Those skills are interconnected with content! Embedding these skills allow kiddos to become independent learners who are ready for higher level tasks, collaboration with others and complex problem solving. We are setting up the whole child for success! #IAedChat
A2: We are talking about skills that will serve us for our entire lives within this question. Incredibly critical to see things from another perspective, learn how to navigate our emotions, while learning what matters most. This is big stuff. #IAedChat
A2 Self-regulation, empathy, & descision making skills have always been important, but it is being recognized that we have taken for granted that kids are entering the building with these skills. We are to meet kids where they are at, #SEL included. #IaEdchat
A2. Emotional and behavioural self-regulation contributes to S's growing independence. It is this growing ability to control their own feelings and behaviour that eventually allows a them to become more skilled in their relationships with peers and adults. #iaedchat
Q3: According to @CASELorg , there are five SEL competencies. Which are areas your system needs to take a deeper look? Which are areas of strength? #IAedChathttps://t.co/Au67ceGfNw
#IAedChat A2:, if S's can have SEL in controlled environments (classroom) it could transfer positively to less controlled environments like recess, lunch, and hopefully life.
I agree! Lots of our students don't develop those skills outside of school due to not having adults or role models around them. They are important skills they will need their entire life. #iaedchat
A2: to have learners enter a world that jobs don’t exist, technology hasn’t been invented, and problems are not problems. They need to be able to problem solve and think flexibly. #16habits#IAedChat
I agree! This will educate students beyond the classroom and help them even once they graduate. Teaching students about others, their past, and their struggles (and comparing these to their own) will hopefully lead them to think critically about history. #iaedchat
Sesame Street began teaching SEL - Executive Functioning Skills years ago! Check out great videos for kids of all ages https://t.co/werjM4Tyhm#iaedchat
A3: Social Awareness is something that we're always trying to help kids navigate more effectively. How do I understand the world and people around me? It's so much better if we front load this rather than try to do it after an issue has occurred. #iaedchat
A3: We’re working on strengthening many of these competencies in several special-education classrooms, but we need to broaden it to all students throughout the whole day. What is beneficial for one student will benefit all students. #IAedChat
We need to treat #SEL as if it were a core subject. Making time for SEL will not take away from instructional time. It will make it more productive.
You gotta Maslow before you can Bloom. #iaedchat
Q3: According to @CASELorg , there are five SEL competencies. Which are areas your system needs to take a deeper look? Which are areas of strength? #IAedChathttps://t.co/Au67ceGfNw
A2. Regulating stress for example, is related to a range of mental & physical health difficulties. It can affect physical health by weakening the immune system & increasing vulnerability to infections. Stress also affects mental health & has links to depression/anxiety. #iaedchat
A2. These skills are embedded in content and are skills that Ss will need to use for the rest of their lives when working with problem-solving skills. #iaedchat
Q3.1: Areas to grow in: SEL work with adults, we are in different places as a building with this and I’ve decided that I want to focus on how adults can build emotional resiliency through professional learning and coaching teachers! #IAedChat
A3 Eager to learn more about fostering self-management in kids. When addressing negative behavior our job is to help develop a skill deficit , not seek to punish kids #IAedChat
Yes! We need to recognize kids might not have the resources outside of school. Also considering the amount of media they are exposed to... characters in video games, cartoons, and tv shows don't always make the best role models. #iaedchat
Gosh. These are all important. Overlay these with brain development of children & the changes that occur for children from birth to adolescence make these all critical at various stages. But if I had to pick...self awareness. Too many important values of self identity. #IAedChat
Q3: According to @CASELorg , there are five SEL competencies. Which are areas your system needs to take a deeper look? Which are areas of strength? #IAedChathttps://t.co/Au67ceGfNw
A3: I think self-awareness is a competency that we need to continue to improve. Not only as students, but adults as well. We must continue to ask, "How is my vibe impacting others?" "How are others experiencing me right now?" #IAedChat
Q3.2: Strengths- my six grade team has created scales for the competencies and we are data teaming around them and determining our next instructional steps based on what kids’ need! #IAedChat
A3: I would say self awareness is an area to focus on. In our #personalizedlearning environments we are striving to get our learners to understand what they need as a learner. #iaedchat
A3. T self awareness is in desperate need. T perfectionism is a big hurdle. A strength is social, most of our Ss and Ts show high levels of respect and moderate levels of empathy. All areas have to get stronger for all stakeholders. #IAedChat
Q3: According to @CASELorg , there are five SEL competencies. Which are areas your system needs to take a deeper look? Which are areas of strength? #IAedChathttps://t.co/Au67ceGfNw
Exactly! Where we go wrong is just making it SDI, especially if the same langauge is not in the classroom when the Ss are in there. We have more and more general ed teachers in the district implementing Zones in their class for all students, & participating themselves. #IaEdChat
A3: As a school counselor in 2 elementary schools, I believe that our students need more opportunities to build social awareness: perspective taking, empathy, & respect for others. These skills can’t be learned until they understand and can regulate their emotions. #IAedChat
A3 due to the nature that I am at an alt ed program, my ss have survived through a lot and their social awareness is huge! But their self-management is lacking. We are very focused on positive coping lately, due to ss not coping in healthy manners. #IAedChat
A2. Self-regulated learning is how Ss manage their emotions, cognition, & behaviours during a learning experience. Good self-regulation skills include time management, the ability to select efficient problem-solving strategies & to actively monitor emotional states. #iaedchat
A3: self awareness seems to be the gateway to the other competencies. As our self awareness increases we can make better decisions and manage our responses. #IAedChat
Q4: "Mental health" as recently been added into the conversation. What does this mean to you? How can we best support regulation of students and staff in the areas of SE-B-MH (social-emotional, behavior, mental health)? #IAedChat
Q3: My experience = self-awareness and management have gotten the least attention. These topics were hardly ever talked about, esp. in areas such as math and science. My hs offered a stress management elective but few people took it & many could've benefit from! #iaedchat
We must change our language as educators. Asking learners “are you doing what best for your learning?” “How can you strive for accuracy?” How did you manage your impulsivity?” “Can you take a responsible risk here?” #IAedChat
A3: My experience = self-awareness and management have gotten the least attention. These topics were hardly ever talked about, esp. in areas such as math and science. My hs offered a stress management elective but few people took it & many could've benefit from! #iaedchat
A4: We could go far to remove stigmas if we just talked about what it is= health. If my heart isn't good- I seek treatment. If my leg is broken- I go to a doctor. It's not weakness to get help, take care of yourself, or seek answers to help yourself or someone you love. #iaedchat
A3: I think we do a relatively good job of working with relationship skills, but when I have students saying they are up at all hours on their phones, playing Fortnight, self-management is a huge issue. #iaedchat
A4: We all have mental health. Think of mental health on a continuum. What are tier one practices that promote mental health? Exercise, diet, relationships - here is where we focus. #IAedChat#LeadChangeEd
A4 this comes back to teaching mindfulness and self care as well as making sure Ss and the Staff in a building are Trauma informed and Trauma Sensitive. We have to have an open dialogue about these issues and allow people to know it’s a normal part of life #iaedchat
A4. This is where schools & families clash at times. Mental health is such a private personal topic. It shouldn’t have stigma but it does. Therapy is a good thing & schools can promote mental health w/ assemblies, PDs, workshops. #IAedChat
Q4: "Mental health" as recently been added into the conversation. What does this mean to you? How can we best support regulation of students and staff in the areas of SE-B-MH (social-emotional, behavior, mental health)? #IAedChat
@townsleyaj#iaedchat we need to build stronger teacher prep programs. Our profession is shifting. The need to be a content expert is in the past. Our system is dealing with students that need training in working with others, problem solving and dealing with adversity
A4: I think talking about it and not being so hush hush is a great start. We have no problem telling ppl we have a cold, it’s also okay to talk about mental health. Embedding #SEL and mindfulness practices can do a lot to help students and staff here! #IaEdChat
A4. Teaching our Ss different ways to deal with different issues. Learning to talk about their feelings, and constructive things they can do to solve problems without arguments. #iaedchat
A4: Mental health is not a dirty word. Let's call it what it really is...well being. We all have our sh@*. How can we create an environment that is safe, welcoming, free of judgment, and meets people where they are? That is the question I ask. #IAedChat
A4: we have to be willing to have conversations with ppl- the only way to meet ppl where they’re at and help them feel supported is to listen to them! That’s what will help us know best how to support S’s and T’s mental health while in school #iaedchat
@townsleyaj#iaedchat we need to build stronger teacher prep programs. Our profession is shifting. The need to be a content expert is in the past. Our system is dealing with students that need training in working with others, problem solving and dealing with adversity
A4 mental health is in everything. (Again coming with an #altedchat midnset) ss health (MENTAL INCLUDED) needs to be addressed before AND while learning and life is happening. Being aware of and knowing your students is key #iaedchat
#iaedchat Bedtime is a stressor! 😳 Sorry I’m late but I’ve missed this time!! Kara Paulson - 3rd grade/model teacher and aspiring administrator Johnston Iowa
SEBMH is a focus of C4K (Collaborating for Iowa's Kids) @IADeptofEd It is exciting to see this work across the state through PBIS, MTSS, SEL & Equity! - #iaedchat
A4. Yes, self-regulation is vital to mental health. It is the seemingly simple exercise of evaluating one’s emotional response & making a conscious decision on how to respond. It allows us to control our emotions, rather than having emotions control us. #iaedchat
A4: Ss can develop healthy ways to identify, express & respond to their emotions; this is an important part of self- care & can impact mental health. #iaedchat
Awesome point! Educators also need to recognize their strengths and weaknesses in order to improve. If more people saw these 5 competencies as impacting both teachers and students maybe there would be a bigger push for it! More time, resources, $ #iaedchat
Q5: “When Ss experience healthy, growth-producing relationships with their Ts, they are more likely to mirror those actions and behaviors w/ peers.” (All Learning is Social AND Emotional - @dfisherSDSU@NancyFrey@domsmithRP)
HOW DO WE MAKE THIS HAPPEN? #IAedChat
A5: As teachers, and adults in schools, students watch what we are doing on a daily bases, whether we think they are or not. We have to be very intentional on how we model this behavior when we interact with students and other staff.
#iaedchat
Q5: “When Ss experience healthy, growth-producing relationships with their Ts, they are more likely to mirror those actions and behaviors w/ peers.” (All Learning is Social AND Emotional - @dfisherSDSU@NancyFrey@domsmithRP)
HOW DO WE MAKE THIS HAPPEN? #IAedChat
A5: By being real, by admitting we don't have the answers, by celebrating our successes with them, and by showing our passion and joy for our profession. Only then, can we expect them to follow us where we need to go. #iaedchat
A5: The teacher is the single most critical factor in terms of student achievement and success. We have to elevate the contributions of teachers to the total system. We need teachers who are well regulated and understand that they not only matter but have such influence #iaedchat
A5. Simplest answer for me is to remember that I didn’t get into education to deliver scripted lessons. I got into it to pay forward the help that my Ts did for me. Part of my success was enjoying school. I was not the A+ kid, but I cared bc they cared. #IAedChat
#IAedChat
A5 be a role model. Sounds simple, right? Own your behaviors, speak truth, speak love ❤️, APOLOGIZE! (Like i sort of appologize for all my all caps tonight 😂) #iaedchat
A5 Building trusting and genuine relationships with kids each and everyday. There is no shortcut it takes time effort and a serious dedication in order to do this #iaedchat
A5: Intentionality, intentionality, intentionality. 5x5 - Gice five minutes to five kids. Be present 100%. What do you learn? Notice? Change? Be the change. #IAedChat#LeadChangeEd
A5: Love our students unconditionally and show up every. single. day. no matter how hard it is. Students need to know that we are human and struggle as well. Vulnerability drives relationships. #IAedChat
A5: Treat your Ss how you want to be treated. Build connections by listening to them, getting to know their strengths and interests, playing and spending time with them, being their cheerleader. #IAedChat
A5.1: I tend to go back to the social discipline window for this. Do things WITH kids, allow kids to have ownership and hear their voice for what a safe space is and how learning should look! Get student feedback on your instructional practices.#IaEdChat
In reply to
@townsleyaj, @DFISHERSDSU, @NancyFrey, @domsmithRP
A5: this emphasizes the need for teacher to be just as aware of their selves and goal set around SEL. Every action make and word we say impacts our S’s. The better self awareness we have the stronger models we can be for our S’s. #iaedchat
In reply to
@townsleyaj, @DFISHERSDSU, @NancyFrey, @domsmithRP
A5: Community building in the classroom!!!! Promote relationships with students and among students, make the env. welcoming, provide constructive & thoughtful feedback, make urself available, group assignments, class-wide projects, & make respect a priority #iaedchat
I visited Liberty HS @LibertyHS_Kibby@ColbertJust & asked about Office Referrals - Justin C. informed me they had over 1700 POSITIVE office referrals so far....that's SEL at its best!!! @theAPBS#iaedchat
A3: Self-management is a tough one. Especially in elementary school. Which leads me to ask... Are younger students developmentally capable of some of these competencies? #iaedchat
A5. Simplest answer for me is to remember that I didn’t get into education to deliver scripted lessons. I got into it to pay forward the help that my Ts did for me. Part of my success was enjoying school. I was not the A+ kid, but I cared bc they cared. #IAedChat
#IAedChat
A5: Building relationships requires Ts to show genuine care for Ss – You need to be accepting, to be warm & nurturing. You need to be aware of & empathetic to their thoughts & feelings. You need to let them know they are important to & that you believe in them. #iaedchat
A5:T’s need training in relationship-building- we only know what we know & can only give what we have, so T’s who had poor examples of relationships may need support in growing relat. with S’s.They need to learn how to handle neg emotions & how to celebrate the positive #iaedchat
A4. Greater self-regulation has been associated with academic achievement and better physical and mental health. Poor self-regulation has been linked to adverse outcomes, such as health risk behaviours, psychiatric disorders, crime and unemployment. #iaedchat
A5 We get what we prioritize and model. Knowing that each 5 second interaction with a kid matters, don’t get caught up in teaching content that we forget to love them on a daily basis #IAedChat
The real focus needs to be connecting with kids who need it the most - intentional - honest - real - genuine & then love & reach out to their parents. #iaedchat
A6: my number one go to is the Nurtured Heart Approach- it explains how to help kids use their intensity in positive, life-changing ways. You can find info through The Children’s Success Foundation @CSFisGreatness#iaedchat
A6. The Reaponsive Classroom is a great resource. Our school is going to be diving into that next year. We just brought in the Brain Power Classroom. #IAedChat
A6: My one children - I want my own children treated with respect, compassion, and dignity. So why wouldn’t I do the same for other people’s children. #IAedChat
A6: CHARACTER COUNTS! publishes a series of activity books on desired skills & traits in Academic, Character & SEL domains. Here is a sample that you can download of Way To Go lessons for Grades 3-12. https://t.co/W6Wx25gIbq#iaedchat
A5. Teaching Ss how to express their feelings in appropriate ways, to consider the consequences of their actions & how to develop positive relationships is crucial. Ss will develop stronger friendships with peers & better manage normal stresses. #iaedchat
#iaedchat not necessarily a resource but we have staff members that are incorporating SEL daily and are collecting data on the effect in the classroom. They share out the data. These technical changes lead to shifts in beliefs that lead to adaptive changes in the classroom.
We use the @SanfordHarmony SEL program. At the time of implementation, it was no cost to our school. It has done WONDERS for my class and was simple to incorporate into the daily routine. #IAedChat
A5. Teach them & model it for them. Make an effort to include curriculum & activities into your day that encourage & promote self-regulation & managing their behaviors. Explicit teaching moments are necessary, because these skills don’t always come naturally. #iaedchat
Ok... @danpbutler is winning twitter today. Thank you for the compliment Dan. On another note I told you @CarrieElsinger had skillz with a z. #IaEdChat
A7: SEL is a process & as a result
requires time, patience & especially educators that are committed to providing a safe & caring learning environment. #iaedchat
A7: I'm excited to look at several of the resources shared tonight. Already have lots of tabs open.... after the chat and the nightly fire run, the leanring will start.
#iaedchat
#iaedchat SEL links and the encouragement that people in our system see that change needs to occur. It will take grass roots effort for these changes to occur. One classroom at a time.
A7: How can we look systemically at our practices to ensure that SEL is incorporated throughout the day? Great resources shared as well. Following some new folks. #iaedchat
A7. Teaching and modeling, working with our Ss on multiple ways to deal with problems and issues, learning to listen and talk about their feelings is key.Building relationships, and getting to know Ss, and how they react. #iaedchat
A7: I need to take these great resources back to my team of counselors as we are revamping our comprehensive counseling program. Can’t wait for these seeds to bloom into beautiful flowers! #IaEdChat
#IAedChat A7: All the resources are FANTASTIC! I will begin planting these seeds tomorrow! As always so thankful to be part of this community of amazing people
Thanks to tonight's participants and my partners in moderating @danpbutler and @duffysclassroom!
Don’t forget to bookmark our #IAedChat google site which houses an archive of these chats, our live chats, and resources! https://t.co/q8mtcjVIo3
A7: I learned that this social/emotional learning conversation just needs to keep happening- we must advocate for these types of supports for our students to everyone who will listen until we begin to see school systems change to incorporate them on a daily basis #iaedchat
A7 I plan on taking some time to review the resources I be saved from tonight and start a dialogue with our BLT over what we feel would compliment what we are already doing #iaedchat
So glad to learn with all of you tonight! Thankful for your thoughts, resources, and impact. Go out tomorrow and make it count. Maybe we'll get a full week of school by the first week of March... oh who am I kidding?! #iaedchat
Thank you to the #IAedChat team of moderators - @danpbutler, @townsleyaj, and @duffysclassroom. Be sure to also follow some of the new friends you met tonight to continue the conversation & grow your PLN.
