Best field trip? Was asked to help chaperone the 6th grade DARE trip even though I teach 7th. They went to a Mets game at Citi Field, I didnt hesitate saying yes. #bfc530
Ooo. I’ve had a few. Getting to go to MOMA when it was closed and get a tour from the artist (who was also a dad). Laying on the floor of the Guggenheim and looking up at the spiral. Taking the kids to NYPL to hear and meet authors. #BFC530
A Revolutionary War site where the students participated in games that illustrated the differences between Britain and the Colonies; ate authentic food the soldiers would have had, and then wrote letters home from the perspective of a soldier. #bfc530
The year our 3rd got adres went to Jamestown settlement. I worked at a school where many students were considered at risk. This girl trip opened their eyes to a world that had existed in the past- I’ll never forget the look in their eyes as they “saw” the past. #BFC530

No field trips for me this year. But my daughter went to Frost Valley with her 6th grade class and absolutely LOVED it. Science geeks paradise apparently:)
We celebrated our year with a wonderful field trip to Storybook Gardens, here in Ontario, this past week. So much simple fun with a splash pad, slides, storybook characters, food...spending the day together with my K students...WONDERFUL! #bfc530

Years ago we took a group of Ss to a Taino cave. Our music T at the time was @irkamateo, a percussionist who specializes in Taino culture. She taught the Ss drumming & we played them in the cave surrounded by stalactites &Taino artwork. It was amazing #bfc530
When I was a kid, our best field trip was an environmental trip to Stokes State Forest in NNJ. Not only did we learn about trees, but we made a nail at a blacksmith shop. #bfc530
Best field trip would be each year we take our entire school to the movies. Our students, faculty, and staff can all fit in the same theater. We have popcorn, drinks, candy, and all enjoy a movie together. Everyone looks forward to this trip! #bfc530
Best field trip ever was taking 7th graders to the 9/11 Memorial Museum in NYC. Heartbreaking, amazing, there was not a peep, or a dry eye in the house the entire time. I'll never forget it. Memorable and Educational, more so for me because I remember living it. #bfc530
Good morning everyone- just last Friday we spent the day at a summer camp- swimming in a lake, group games, a giant mud pit and loads of laughter- definitely one of the best #bfc530
When I taught in CT, our Boston/Lexington & Concord trip was always memorable. In fact, took my wife along for the experience our 1st weekend as husband & wife. Still married 20 yrs later so no long term ramifications of that #bfc530
If you asked my Ss, the best field trips are the virtual ones we have taken using @google earth this year~ they love seeing/exploring/talking about far away places, esp. where they are from & many of their family members still live - Ecuador, Brazil, Philippines ❤️ #bfc530

On Friday my Ss came to the house for a bbq which was such fun. Best trip ever was when hubs and I took a group of Alaskan eskimos to Florida. They’d never been past Nome so it was a crazy adventure. #bfc530

Does anyone else think that the memorable thing of field trips is the community/social bonds among the students rather than the actual point of the trip. (Not that there is anything wrong with that) #bfc530
I still remember the director giving a talk to all of us before we left that if we were to write on both sides of the paper, we would help save trees. Always wrote notes on both sides of paper from that moment on #bfc530
What an eye opener for them! I vividly remember the feeling of seeing palm trees for the first time when I was 12 & my family drove from Vancouver to Mexico. #bfc530

And it never fails that at some point during the trip, I look around at all of the Ss on the bus and think, "What a privilege to be a teacher." #BFC530
My fav “ fieldtrip/Learning adventure” was this past fri when I went to the @mjperkins2014 school to participate in Genius week... what an awesome school full of ❤️, hope , high expectations & fun, too! 😊 #bfc530
Best field trip was either taking our kids to camp for three days as a part of our #experientiallearning unit or to Pilsen, the Hispanic ethnic neighborhood, for a tour of the Mexican Art Museum, the murals and lunch #bfc530
Absolutely. We do a 9th - 12th grade trip to the beach every year to do team building activities. It's such a great way to help the different grade levels get to know each other and bond. #bfc530
We also have a truly impressive Holocaust Museum @ihmec nearby where I take students for Student Leadership Day, tours and now to visit their award winning #TakeAStand exhibit. #bfc530

We take our 6th graders to Country Lake in lieu of Field Day. We tie dye shirts, shoot rockets, participate on a low ropes course, have a cardboard boat regatta, and the rest of the day is spent playing a game of their choice (gaga ball, beach vball, bball, soccer) #bfc530
