So good to finally meet you in person! Thanks for coming to my session
I am excited to try it with Google Classroom
I want to start using . Restructuring class to catch time for that

We just got an IT that will work on iPads, need to start using those more often!
I am helping many teachers use Seesaw as a digital portfolio Very user friendly especially for primary Ss Ts LOVE it!
actually up to go eat and head to airport. Thought I'd check Twitter. Found it by chance:)
I've heard so much about SeeSaw lately.
A2 - Instagram, Snapseed, Piccollage, Wordswag
Mentor teacher from where I student taught is helping me w/ Wix portfolio I love the software, but a little tricky to use.
MT I am helping teachers use Seesaw -digital portfolio -user friendly especially for primary Ss Ts LOVE it!

Safe travels, Monika - so great to meet you in person!
RT We use and it has a digital portfolio feature built in!
Here is our wonderful principal she opened her account this week and tweet like a pro!
A2: is my go to for creativity. Ss have been using & iMovie
One of those mornings where my head is spinning from all these apps- why I love
If you have iPads you should be creating daily and curating in Google drive
grateful it didn't hit me until Friday. So glad I was fine during the actual convention.
These are all bit hits with the Ts I work with Couldn't agree more
You can do almost anything on Explain Everything!I love that one, too!
..said the preacher to the choir. Agreed! Culture in classrooms is finally shifting that way.
Me too! Love how easy it is too.
Q3 What apps do you use to backup to the cloud? Photos, files, etc
Will have too add that to my list. Blackboard does as well but not as powerful
I think I met her on Thursday at the
RT One of those mornings where my head is spinning from all these apps- why I love
We added this year, and they have great portfolio tools.
A3. OneDrive crashed on me during my Final Exams Freshman Yr of College. Switched to Google Drive and NEVER LOOKED BACK.
This is a favorite of mine.
A3 Google Drive and Dropbox
Good morning from Chicago, more APRIL foolishness! A1 GAFE, Notability, Explain Everything, iMovie https://t.co/9HVleBzbK2
I use those too - Anyone using Flickr to save and tag photos?
a3 is my go to for organizing files, Drive for files to share with students, for web clips
, is dynamite- used it couple summers for classes, its been great. Ez.
We live on Google Drive. Love apps that allow for Google login too. Much easier for Ss (and Ts)
A3 Dropxbox and Google Drive
Flash Drive, double backup to a Terabyte.... Apps are secondary
Good morning, Jan - great pic!
A3: We use Google Drive to back up files and YouTube for videos. I just learned how to make channels.
looks great! Just realized it was your site I used for the prayer to bless our doors!
Good Morning...just checking in for the first time on a Saturday morning. Great meeting folks at NCEA.
good morning! It was a great convention! Welcome to
Google Drive is great because it shares items & not just folders, can be very specific w/ what's shared.
Good morning Jan. Why aren't we somewhere warm?
It will be great to see how much it's changed-hoping to connect with Catholic educators there
Love Google Drive when you're in the moment. Still need the backup .... Think future.....
Not a Microsoft fan AT ALL!
Welcome. does a great job with this chat.
Plus, wifi outages will happen at worst possible moment, local storage still a must!
I love it for that reason, too! And you can allow editing or just viewing priviliges.
Look on the Bright side, Cubs baseball starts on Monday and the Sox are eliminated from Postseason nxt wk.
With all the advertisement did we get anybody new on this morning's chat?
a3 Google Drive, and network backs up to local backup appliance, which in turn backs up to cloud.
don't forget ! She took a 9 month hiatus to work with the World Meeting of Families
Agreed! I was able to easily share resources with my mentee but not overload her
Don't know how I got up in the morning before Google Drive!
I'm not a Catholic School teacher anymore, but I still love this chat!
Q4: What paid apps have you found worthwhile? Which do you use most often?
good! We're constantly developing ideas. Very visual and thoughtful. Keep coming back and make suggestions
a4 um... I'm so used to jury-rigging to get by, I never think to ask to purchase apps! If it ain't free, I don't have time!
Here I am, Marcie. This sure is a busy tweet site.
those days are over! Tic prices up 40%. Knocked down MCD & 7-11 too!
I think the excitement of the is still with us!
yes it is. One of the best groups around!
We are in our 4th year of A great group effort by all attendees and guests!
A4: I would say Explain Everything, Notability, and Book Creator are worth the cost.
Yes! I discourage ss from using Microsoft. Too many options, distracts from task.
Good morning--Really enjoyed learning with you this week!
Along with those still grasping on to it with an almost death-grip!
LOL! You are forgiven! The used a lot of energy. Need to recharge now.
A4 Book Creator, the free version you can add stories with more pages but the paid version each story is it's own book
so nice to see you this week!
A4 many of my schools are using OSMOs the apps are free but the manipulative cost well worth it
also harder for us as educators to track, and glitches w/ it happen more, imo.
Joining late. Good morning.
DM me about it and dates. Term 1 next year in NSW ends 7April. Easter is 16 April.
good point! Once you use the free copy, it's no good. Have to have the paid version.
Except Excel is still preferred tool for business office (& corp world)
Have Twitter lists for Cath elem & HS, supers, & Dio Cath Ed offi. -more clever, don't know how to post links
A4 Explain Everything is main paid app we use. Worth it!
I think Google slides is a good alternative. I do use Keynote also to embed video
I actually like Powtoon, if anyone's heard of it. I use it to create video/tutorials for projects for students.
morning Chad! So nice to meet you IRL at the Tweetup!
A4 huge usage. Lesser for Zaption & Nearpod pro. some like those premium accts. What to do next year is Q.
We hear how Ss have to learn Microsoft, Why? Learn how tech works not programs
Glad we got a quick visit in!
Agreed Paid version well worth it
not easy to learn initially, but once getting the hang of it- get a lot of great stuff.
and their buy one give one program was great!
have to post using your laptop. Click on your picture, profile and settings.
a4: I still need Dreamweaver to do website updates, though if you have a good platform, built in CMS that's less of a need.
I've heard of this, but haven't used it. Is it free?
Also , as cheesy as name is- works well with paid version- $15 for year is worth every penny.
Q5: What apps do you use for assessment or grading?
Agreed, but we can teach Ss basics in Google Sheets. Formulas are same
Ah, oh that thing I learned 20 years ago! Lol! I'm on my iPad - wasn't thinking. Oh my!
Students find it an engaging hook when I start a new project with a cartoon animation
initially free, but grows in cost w/ better stuff- next step up from free is well worth it.
Overslept! Or slept exactly as needed. Hope you all are well. Catch you next time :-)
Nope! They rarely use i.e. In college unless they are some sort of business major.
A5: Love rubrics. Grade anything w/ them - including presentations. They save & tie to state standards
other caveat is a lot of Universities still use it- SHU is one of them, to my chagrin.
Sparked my interest! I will have to try this one! Thank u!
One you start really using Sheets you won't look back.
Eating, so I'm just lurking :)
loved seeing your glowing smile! Keep shining!
A5 Use Google forms, flubaroo, We use for grading
A5: Our Ss love Kahoot used as an assessment. We also use Socrative and Google Forms w/Flubaroo.
A5 Socrative and Blackboard
Q6: What apps do you use for your own schedule, fitness, health, etc...?
A5 all of our grading is in student management system called Sycamore
another wonderful week! One year I hope yo actually be able to make a Tweetup!
I need to see how many Google Forms we've created. I think it's around 4 million (give or take)
We also us RedikerSoftware.... Simple, cost-effective....
I used when I taught math as well. Admin didn't like, but couldn't argue with the data I got!
Thank you for this list!!
A6: We created a family Gmail account and share the calendar w/ grandparents. All kids activities on everyone's phones
A6 Fitbit, MyFitnessPal, MapMyWalk, Pandora for walking music
My Ss like it but I've never used it
is now trending in USA, ranking 35
A6. Google Calendar is my go-to, Runkeeper (which does more than that) and Gmail- can get every email under one, ezier.
Heard a great deal of excitement re from first time conventioneers !
Do you know of thinglink? I didn't see it mentioned. It lets you add video or references, text to one main image.
I just started to play around with this and I like it! Thanks!
That is good. We have to keep being excited about Catholic education!
We are transitioning to STAR. How do you feel about it?
Have you tried GoFormative? It's web based and I've started using that a lot
Our Ts started using live before break. AMAZING! The engagement of Ss is off the charts. Need paid acct.
what a great way to stay connected, aware in the grandkids days!
A6: I'm going old school, as it were, on this: I use Notes as a place to journal and play with ideas. Key for my leadership.
not sure! We will know we are really trending with Spam hits the chat!
Just woke up. Good morning everyone. It was great to see so many of you at
Yes! Have used several times. Much fun!
will have to take a look at this one...
A6 Fitbit, Map My Walk. Want to use Couch to 5K but haven't yet.
Hi Nick! It was great to see you at
yet my school still has calendar meetings...
I have not, I will give it a try. What do you like about it?
I started playing with Google Keep- love that I can send things right into a doc- makes brainstorming easy
Ts can create free website and embed calendar, or post share link with parents. Let me know if you need any help.
Right! Setting up is one thing, my struggle is keeping it up!
I didn't see Zaption mentioned. Anyone using it?
learned Kahoot from a Professor- students loved it. Competition got a little intense 2 begin.
I like STAR when used in conjunction with AR.
I also started using Videoscribe for doing video lessons- it's pretty cool!
A6 Google Calendar & Keep, Google drive, Apple Watch for fitness
And a lot easier than making 5 phone calls about rain-outs (or snow-outs)
Ts have used Kahoot before as meeting opener. Much fun!
any walking is good walking --the is helpful!
good morning! Was good to meet you at
I use notes, as well. I used it to jot down ideas from and
What?? A Catholic school teacher who has too much on his plate & wears too many hats?
welcome!
Amazing what a google search can yield. I should find the author and thank them!
I need to give it a second try.
you can input all kinds of questions- even has a whiteboard feature so Ss can show their work
I find it's easiest to use on my phone
Thanks for a great chat this morning! Have a super week!
We used it to follow up on a teacher training during inservice. Ts like fun competition!
Awesome chat and a lot of great apps to explore. Thanks everyone!
have you worked through it and run a 5k? I hate running but I typically walk 5k now.
Found your lists of chrome apps -- its fantastic! Thanks for curating and sharing.
