Q2: With tech adoption in the classroom, are you: Innovator, early adopter, early majority, late majority, or laggard/resistor?

-

-
A2: I have been all but the resistor - depending on what we need to do and how we can best do it.

-
Thanks for coming on your break!

A2) Ugh... Early Adopter Always...this chip in my neck itches though.

-
Q2: somewhere between innovator and early adopter. I was the first to flip my classroom at my school a few years ago

-
A2: early adopter for sure. 2nd year teaching this guy invaded my school and I never looked back. Learning is better now

-
A2: I find that I really prefer to be in the innovator portion, but have spent time in all but the resistor category.
-
 -
Q2: With tech adoption in the classroom, are you: Innovator, early adopter, early majority, late majority, or laggard/resistor?

-
A2: Early adopter, striving towards innovator

-
Ha! They put the chip in your neck? Mine is in my hand.

Q3: What challenges are there with being a tech adoption innovator/early adopter in the classroom?

-
Marc here from Cobb County. Technology Integration Specialist, and I am on Fall Break as we speak!

-
A3: If you like to innovate, you must spend a lot of time explaining not only the solution but the problem you are solving

-
This is a great point.
-
 -
A3: If you like to innovate, you must spend a lot of time explaining not only the solution but the problem you are solving

-
A3: Depends on the climate at your school. Admin really sets the tone.

-
A3: Finding time to research what's new and how it can be used effectively. Sorting through the flashy to find the gold.

-
A3) I guess I need to let them get the bugs out... Also some things die at version 1.. my Apple Newton.

-
A3: innovation/early adopter take time to research and learn. Trial and error. It was hard for me to find time to help others

-
A3: The challenge lies in getting people to see the vision of what something can be.
-
 -
Q3: What challenges are there with being a tech adoption innovator/early adopter in the classroom?

-
A3: people don't like change in general, so admin support for any innovation is vital for even a chance at success

-
I say Prototype and Fail often...
-
 -
A3: Depends on the climate at your school. Admin really sets the tone.

Q4 coming up in one minute!

-
Right! Sometimes I'm so busy learning the new updates/devices, I run out of time to teach what we have.
-
 -

a4. Start with pilot tests to show them the results possible. Go slow. and remember, not everyone is a tech-nerdy as we are :)

-
A2: When I was in the classroom, I think that I was early adopter-early majority. I steal my best ideas from others!
-
 -
Q2: With tech adoption in the classroom, are you: Innovator, early adopter, early majority, late majority, or laggard/resistor?

-
A4: Create the desire to utilize the tech in the students, and the teachers will follow. Peer pressure isn't always negative

-
A4: Sell Sell Sell. You have Sell them on it, plus when students come to class and want to do what the cool teacher is doing. 🤚

-
A4) Teacher a lesson in the room of the resistors... make it amazing yet doable for them.
-
 -
Q4: What is the best way to encourage edtech resistors? In the classroom or school in general.

-
A4: For me it is all about trust. When they know you are giving them something that works, they are more likely to try it.
-

Bottom up approach! Let the Ss drive the innovation.
-
 -
A4: Create the desire to utilize the tech in the students, and the teachers will follow. Peer pressure isn't always negative

-
A4: Tell them they don't have to use the tech, but then support the heck out of it. They will become curious and start trying

-
A4: Let them have a voice, teach, lead. They can't complain (as much) about something they had a part in.

-
A4 - Show them an AMAZING tool!!

-
Tech integration: 60% “google ideas” 40% trial and error. Even when it fails 9/10 students are still engaged

-
Gotta sneak away now. Thanks for letting me play a little bit. Sorry, This coming weekend I can't cheer for the Bulldogs.

-

-
A3: Biggest challenge is being among the first - if I fail the 1st time, others may negate the tool & ignore the failed approach
