@MOedchat I have used #OneWord for four years. I like that it gives my professional and personal life point of focus. I tend to use that word more, as well as find activities to help me fulfill it: 2019 is REFLECT. Previous EPICAL, PERSIST, REFINE, INTENTION #moedchat

A2. Focus. What we focus on we can accomplish. Pick one thing, direct all actions through that word to keep from losing focus. So for my 2019 REFLECT, take at least a bit more time to reflect on the situation before speaking or acting. #moedchat@MOedchat

A3: my one word is Change. 2019 is going to bring a lot of change and I am all for it. I want to think of how to embrace it all and use it to make needed improvements. #moedchat

A4. Progress is totally subjective. I found it helps to have subtle reminders near me to be more consistent in #OneWord usage: small lettering on my cellphone, a piece of paper in my wallet, a sticky note on my desk that only I can see, REFLECT on my computer. @MOedchat#moedchat
A4b. And it is ok for #OneWord progress to be subjective. It is about ourselves, not others...although they benefit if we use it because it makes us better. If we are using #OneWord as change, if we don't use it, we are just "normal" toward others! @MOedchat#moedchat
@etaofstl hosts monthly face to face meetings once a month on Wednesday afternoons. Since not everyone can attend, we are partnering with #moedchat to extend our meetings to Twitter the next night (Thursday after the meetings.)

A5. #OneWord is both personal and professional for me. Want it to be something that affects all of my life. Mercy sakes...my life needs improvement! @MOedchat#moedchat
A5: Both, but the two aspects have slightly different connotations. The personal is...just that more personal. While the professional pertains more to my Ss & the other Ts I work or converse with. #MOEdChat
A6 sharing our #oneword and telling people our why for it promotes the practice and can encourage others to take the leap. It’s also just a great way spread your shine #moedchat
A6. Post up #OneWord s of staff & teachers. Maybe even students. Recognize when you see the #OneWord in action, call it it, recognize it. Challenge people to keep a journal of #OneWord in action. Use #OneWord as journal starters. "Match the #OneWord to person" @MOedchat#moedchat
A5: I generally use my one word professionally. I will need to think of a new word for my personal life. There are lots of good ones in #moedchat tonight.
