A2 #AKedchat I unplug during holidays, lunch break, weekends. It’s difficult to do as I’m always cking in w students parents, staff, PTA, etc. during the week. I love movies & music & that requires tech of some sort.

#akedchat A2: I am very particular about which notifications are pushed to me. I prefer to go get my email, tweets, most messages, etc. on my own time. I allow phone calls & texts to come to me - unless I don't even want to be disturbed by those :)

A2: I really struggle with unplugging from work. Finding just a few minutes to read, play a board game with my kids, walk the dog, run, or sit in our hot tub can make a huge positive difference. #akedchat

#akedchat A2: I forgot my goal! A goal that can be accomplished in 2019 is to become comfortable with Free Motion Quilting (totally unrelated to my profession!)
#akedchat A3: Hmmm ... I don't belong to one school/district, so all educators I connect with IRL are from outside my school/district. I don't get a lot of IRL connections, but did enjoy lunch on Saturday with a teacher I worked with in Nunap a couple years ago!
A3:Only when I leave the island! Last Christmas I visited a school in Kona, HI and connected IRL with a class and teacher with whom I had previously done Mystery Skype with. I connect with my Canadian teacher friends IRL almost every summer too. #akedchat
A2: When I leave work, I LEAVE work, at least during the week, so I have time with my family at home. That was last year's resolution & it's worked well. Friends get squished in around the edges on weekends 😉. #akedchat

A3 #AKedchat IRL (if that means in person???) then not often enough unless we go out for a beer as a staff! Outside the district/school I go online-FB, Twitter daily/Wkly. Love this new opport. as I’ve met people all over the world & I can “listen”or follow whomever I want

A4: #akedchat Meet-ups have happened the last two years at ASTE ... and you shouldn't miss them if at all possible to attend!! Wonderful to connect with other #akedchat participants at a time dedicated to simply enjoying time with each other! I've been to both :)
A3: ASTE is pretty much it for me, barring some incidental chats w/friends Outside who also happen to be educators. This is 1 reason ASTE is so impt ro me! #akedchat#aste19
A3 #akedchat I get to connect IRL during my weekly online course, at state conferences, and when i visit home. It's harder to do it in person while working in a rural district.
A4: I have not as last year was the first time back to ASTE since 2009. I was a little intimated to even join this chat group on Twitter, let alone join a real life meeting- but it sounds like a great idea! #akedchat

A4: I was at the 2018 #akedchat meetup at ASTE. it was great to meet folks I'd only seen as profile pix & bitmojis! Lots of conversations started & it made it more fun to participate in future akedchats as well.

#AKedchat has always been more than a Twitter chat. This affiliation of educators started in a Captain Cook Conference room at ASTE several years ago, went to Google+, and grown on Twitter. Meeting in person has always been a part of this group. Thanks so much for participating.
Yes, we may be getting too big for Fletcher's, but it's been handy because it was in the hotel and easy to get to. Do you have another suggestion? For #RTIMTSS19, we will meet at a place within walking distance of the conference venue. #akedchat

A7: Anchorage school district did a huge cross district inservice this year w/most content areas & grade levels all at 1 site. If they do it again next fall, I'd love to see an #akedchat meetup there. Not sure what other districts do for their PD...
