Something that stuck with me - what environment are you creating in your classroom? One of innovation or compliance? We need to choose words carefully to foster innovation and growth mindset. Are you the or the pathway? #ohedchat
Q3: Books, bloggers, podcasts and more. What is your BEST advice for our colleagues as they think about the year ahead after a year in the books? Quote? Someone to follow? Something to know? #ohedchcat
A3: just make things happen! Risks will get you far! If mistakes happen, make them lessons! Ss need to see how yo overcome obstacles. Also model learning for Ss. Some Ss need to see that learning continues further than the classroom. #ohedchat
A3: If you are an admin...find a way to spend some time actually teaching/co-teaching a class- even if it is a 20 min lesson. Making that commitment every week to be in a class, working with Ss makes all the difference in keeping the focus of your work on students. #ohedchat
YES! When reading #Path2Serendipity today I came across the classroom environment topic. She shared about asking questions rather than telling = game changer. Thanks for sharing about your day/reflections #OhEdChat
Something that stuck with me - what environment are you creating in your classroom? One of innovation or compliance? We need to choose words carefully to foster innovation and growth mindset. Are you the or the pathway? #ohedchat
A3: I suggest celebrating & reflecting on what has been accomplished, and then choosing 2-3 goals for the following year. Write them down, and get an accountability buddy or a coach! #ohedchat
A3: Personally, I feel like I have gained so much by spending time reading blogs, following some amazing educators, and reading books all to help me be better in many areas of my life. #ohedchat
Q3: Books, bloggers, podcasts and more. What is your BEST advice for our colleagues as they think about the year ahead after a year in the books? Quote? Someone to follow? Something to know? #ohedchcat
A3.2: also, start blogging! @Vroom6 got me hooked on it and it’s been awesome! I need to do more of it but need a new platform to do it! People want to know what you have to say! It is a great reflection tool! #ohedchat
A3. Enjoy the ride!!! Each day is a learning opportunity, and see it as that. Reflect often - you may be surprised at what you really see in yourself! #ohedchat
Q3: Books, bloggers, podcasts and more. What is your BEST advice for our colleagues as they think about the year ahead after a year in the books? Quote? Someone to follow? Something to know? #ohedchcat
A3: a quote that stuck with me came from #innovatorsmindset: you can engage a student in a convo on how to change the world, but why not empower them to go out and change the world. Take risks, give students a voice and choice, and you will be amazed at what they can do #ohedchat
Ducking out early #ohedchat thanks for the great conversation! If you've got thirty minutes tomorrow at 9pm ET would love to see you in #waledchat! @moler3031@tyarnold18
A3. Reflect on the past year (where can we grow? Where did we have wins?), study up on new ideas and best practice, follow someone like @TBrianKight, @fastcrayon, @rickwormeli2 for motivation and insight, and be sure to remember the WHY! (Shaping the whole child!) #ohedchat
Q3: Books, bloggers, podcasts and more. What is your BEST advice for our colleagues as they think about the year ahead after a year in the books? Quote? Someone to follow? Something to know? #ohedchcat
I have made a commitment to do a weekly integrated science/math/literacy lesson in some of our K classes. That keeps me charged up and reminds me why I love me an educator. #OHedchat
A3: You did your best. Take time to recall victories. CELEBRATE. Do what you need to reflect and rest and enjoy the sunshine. 🙂
1. What will I keep doing next year?
2. What will I stop doing next year?
3. What will I start doing next year?
My 3 summer questions.
#ohedchat
Q3: Books, bloggers, podcasts and more. What is your BEST advice for our colleagues as they think about the year ahead after a year in the books? Quote? Someone to follow? Something to know? #ohedchcat
Thank you for this quick and resourceful #ohedchat! Please share out any podcasts, bloggers or educators on twitter that are MUST's for each of us. Have a wonderful weekend ahead!
A3.3: last year I presented at a national conference...I never thought I’d do that, but I trusted my colleagues and PLN (several that are here) for guidance. It was a great feeling. Trust and take risks this summer! #ohedchat
Thanks #ohedchat for a great chat and moderating @Vroom6. One educator I highly recommend following is @dene_gainey. Great guy and genuinely passionate educator.
