Hey there, you two! Happy Tuesd'y!
Hi ! Marifran, HS librarian from NY - for me will always bring 2 mind The Mixed Up Files & any John Bellairs book
books in the morning, books in the evening - it's my kind of day!
Sean in St. Augustine, FL, 3rd grade, two days left, and I loved Choose Your Own Adventure, Comics, and Henry Huggins.
Opening and closing my day with just the best people and books. Need a glass of wine and life is good! https://t.co/LIraOagGOo
books in the morning, books in the evening - it's my kind of day!
The Mixed Up Files..... YES!
I didn't read it til I was a T. Love that book (and its influence on The Royal Tenenbaums)
oh, CYOA! I poured through those things, couldn't get enough
Hey Greg! Thanks for the great topic!
have my original copy from 3rd grade - has a rubber band around it b/c I've read it to pieces
I'm Brian. I teach MS Ss English in CO. Stephen King had a pretty good hold on me as a reader by 8th grade.
No serious ones yet. What did you like to read as a kid?
So this is Greg from Chattanooga. I was all about the Choose Your Own Aventures and the Guinness Book of World Records.
fighting a cold, but otherwise awesome
I didn't realize there was one yet! LOL
Judy Blume taught me everything I needed to know I memorized her books <3 <3 https://t.co/wtL7ijm0tg
No serious ones yet. What did you like to read as a kid?
Another reason why you are hip! I wanted to be Henry Huggins & I loved Choose Your Adventure and Comics.
Laura Ingalls, Judy Blume.......
us, too Teresa altho we go into Regents, finals schedule June 13
I'm feeling this one as a pretty serious question. Just sayin' ;) https://t.co/am9OCiO9pF
No serious ones yet. What did you like to read as a kid?
Hey! Michelle from KS. I remember reading VC Andrews in my MS days. Probably not the best for MS S.
Oh yes! The Dark Tower series? That was how I started on his work!
I swear, our overlap always makes me smile!
A1) i'm all for summer reading. But I would like for it to be something with the kids and parents.
I plan on going in "The Cave of Time" and gladly choosing page 112.
A1: books are adventures on rainy days, road trips, etc! Excitement at every turn of the page!
I just wish kids had time to read like mine did. Long lazy days of reading
I'm pretty great, two more days, and then I get to do summer PD fun!
I read those too. (borrowed from a friend)
Hey Michelle - if it's got kids turning pages, I'm cool with it (usually...)
A1: if we're reading w them, build a readerly community I'm in - if it's just about pages and "what I read" reports, I'm out
A1 The word "program" freaks me out a bit, but summah reading feels like welcome & integral part of these months, not rip-off.
A1 but I do encourage YouTube learning they can read if they want
I was on the computer, ready to go, and I'm still late.
Do you all remember how "racy" Judy Blume's book Forever was?
Hiya what's up? little late this morning -it's cold here!
Hey Carrie & Maria! Howdy!
I was there, too! Went back an read in my early 20s - boy, did I miss a lot the first time around
you were too busy framing of blue chest hair
Hey Jo! I wish it were gonna be cold here. Hotter and hotter(and hotterer!)
I reread it a few years ago. LOL and I thought THAT was racy! lol
Ohh, I see A1, it's because people keep telling you to read books. What I want you to do is make friends.
A1 if it's self selected reading and we can chat about it on a blog I think Ss can find some of their favorite books!
What?! I wasn't pretending to sit on a motorcycle and try out new poses. That's silly.
Why am I not surprised that I'm digging the answers to Q1?
Now looking back....Flowers in the Attic.....hmmmmm
laying in a hammock, hiding from other responsibilities - that's summah reading for me
What are they doing instead?
Camps, schedules, lessons etc
A1 If kids are digging the reading, I want 'em reading. If it's not happening without pain, maybe just leave some comix around?
we passed a copy around my 6th grade w the "good" parts underlined
it is ok that some kids don't like to read. Would we throw a fit if kids didn't like watching movies?
THAT was my jam. I thought I was so risque. I was emo when it was just eyeliner
LOVE graphic novels and what they have done for millions of kids!
Taboo makes for a good motivator, right ?
Now *this* is a program I can get behind. https://t.co/iFPVrzVEdQ
laying in a hammock, hiding from other responsibilities - that's summah reading for me
It's how I got one of my daughters to read as a teen
A-freaking-men! says that you can't make some else like something that they don't. I agree.
Hi everyone! Kimberly, Media Specialist from Daytona Beach jumping in from a school board meeting!
there is so much to learn off of YouTube. I encourage kids to try a project
A2, ahem, stop calling them "programs." (dodging tomatoes)
honestly, having time for kids to sit and read without any other expectations would be a win in my book.
somehow I missed that until I actually was a wifey - I think that was popular during my Lois Duncan obsession
My dad thought I was too young for Vonnegut, I read all of his books...
I know what you mean, and our Rel H is through the roof too.
our admin gave the Ss postcards to send to school about reading. First day he had them up on the doors and he responded!
is now trending in USA, ranking 50
I can't believe I got away with reading that one.
A2: blogging, recording book trailers......
Ahh, the forbidden fruit is most enticing!
we don't even have the right to try to make them imo
A2: I like to make it a game when I can. I have a literary Jenga set and the kids love to play!
what we use to learn should be a personal choice ;)
I spent a whole summer reading Sweet Dreams Romance novels!😳
A1. As long as the kids can read what they want I'm all for them! Assigned lists? Nope!
A2 For me, reading usually has solitary vibe. I suspect throwing in chances to connect socially re: reading could entice others
I carried around a copy of Jane Eyre the summer I turned 9 b/c my mom said it was "advanced"
A2: No school assigned activity is ever going to be authentic for a kid when it comes to IMHO
As long as they're reading.........
Correspond with kids about summer reading on Instagram and other social media to motivate kids
Same, but I'm all for a good book on CD in the car!
A2: my Ss recently did documentaries in book club groups and had so much fun!
A2
We are having kids read 4 books, write 3 postcards we will put around school, do 2 hrs of IXL, & do one family fun activity
A2: weekly reminders of updates, links to book trailers, notifications abt events at pub libraries & bookstores
Highly recommend Echo! I loved it in audio https://t.co/QsWC6kDriM
Same, but I'm all for a good book on CD in the car!
A2. Posting pics of where/what they are reading on an online map, maybe have them do something creative w/what they are reading
A2: Whose program? My own personal summer reading program or a school program? I tend to just read when I read. No frills.
A2 choice of reading material is pretty key!
I haven't heard of this chat!! I'm intrigued!!
Yeah, a way for them to connect over their reading would be cool.
Huzzah! Summah road trip + excellent audio books = good livin'
yeah, missed a lot in that one, too - yrs later I q'ed my mom & she said, you wanted to read it
A2 becoming the characters themselves and re-creating different story lines
Also launching a school hashtag to share at
Missing tonite... Booking flights to Nova Scotia, which make teacher Hulk angry
I was reading Danielle Steel (why-no idea)
I'm very much against making anyone do anything! lol
Me too..the Promise (I believe) one of my first "adult" books
I didn't read much as a kid. Mostly just played in the summer.
at the time, you wanted to (and no one made you take a quiz on it)
A2 we did summer reading with one summer ... Kids lead discussions about books was a great way to welcome new kids too
is a great site where even Ss can talk about books with each other and the Ts and other classes
Sorry I'm late! I couldn't miss this Can't wait to start my summer reading!
One thing NOT to do for a SR activity is have Ss complete X number of sticky notes per chapter. Kill that love of reading!
A2 in class when starting a new novel txt we spend a lot of time on the outside of the book -learning from the cover
Thanks! Will have to check it out!
**clapping** https://t.co/6Dt0cUjSS9
honestly, having time for kids to sit and read without any other expectations would be a win in my book.
A1: Any "forced" reading is icky. Just sayin'.
A2 I think I may set up a summer reading padlet to just share with my students as we read.
How do you achieve compliance with this? What do you do if they are non-compliant?
My thoughts on summer reading, btw, encouraged, never forced! Read what blows your hair back, man!
Nice. In pitching summer reading to Ss, I posed alternates to typical solitary reader: partner up or listen along.
I have no idea what this graphic means. lol
this is so cool!! A school hashtag for connecting over summer reading!!
Amen! Establish reading culture all year and you won't ever need to worry about policing https://t.co/BeHoMAhh6J
I'm very much against making anyone do anything! lol
A1 I think as long as they are reading it is all good. I'm all for rewarding the Ss not penalizing for not reading
Chris coming in from Philly. Rdg spec who has until the 8th to be set free for her own reading.
ever could get enough of Stuart Little or Charlotte's web as a kid!
the king from the Little Prince - he told you to do whatever it was that you were doing.
A2: Eh. If it needs a gimmick it isn't real.
I encourage so what is best the variety of knowledge is what I look for
Offering out major props for the *FREE* offered all summer long by
A3: not a fan of prizes & trinkets......
Just opened the tab to look at later! Thanks!
My padlet from last yr with offered some awesome recommendations. Ss and I made suggestions https://t.co/9pIlISYskn
I need to transcribe this chat and send it to all the bossy teachers.
https://t.co/UFXTwXjKqL
A2: Eh. If it needs a gimmick it isn't real.
Hi, Kelley, Principal in Maine and I read everything I could get my hands on. Loved Babysitters Club, Gone with the Wind
Oh! Now I get it! lol Kind of like when Homer trains Santa's Little Helper?
it seems all the pretty ones are always taken
I teach Juniors in HS, motivation is super hard! Make them own it, but it is not easy.
A2: Make them more enticing--offer as many choices as you can possibly do. make rdg enticing by giving Ss what they want.
A3: Maybe do some goal setting where the S's choose how they will "reward" themselves, kind of like my summer health goals. ;)
I'm reading David Denby's Lit Up, feeling new tingles that islands of 'forced' reading have place in sea of choice
Nope! Also, I have the kid who looks into the prize box and says, "There's nothing good in there."
A3: Um. This is so far from where I'm at for summer.
Great idea! That would be fun for T's and PD too!
https://t.co/08qeLg4PyM
A2: No school assigned activity is ever going to be authentic for a kid when it comes to IMHO
Bookmobile or picnic and reading time
A3: I don't do so during the yr so why during the summer. Foster a love of rdg during the school yr & see if it carries over.
A2 don't love prizes and stuff. Do love enthusiasm and collaboration between Ts & Ss use tech tools to acheive
A2 tie 3D printing to books. Build me a scene and we will print it out
A3: I'm a weirdo who likes rewards. What's the worst thing that can happen? They read?
The movie for the BFG is out this summer. I am challenging the kids to read the novel before seeing the movie.
we do offer something I hate the reward thing just read for fun
A3 is open over summer and we encourage Ss to test, we do give summer certificates and pencils if Ss pass 5 or more
BFG is a Global Read Aloud for 2016 https://t.co/RvNpSXRrjM
The movie for the BFG is out this summer. I am challenging the kids to read the novel before seeing the movie.
A3: Use tech to keep in contact during summer to communicate good & bad reads.
A3 What about a book chat (with snax!) for the summer's readers when they get back to school. Not prizes, but still...
a3 well it certainly isn't money
and plz stop telling kids (and their Ps) they're an R or an M or an F
You really should, but only if you want to.
we don't enforce it in our adult book club. We talk about anything we are reading.
A3: Go where your Ss go in the summer. Instagram! just started an account and Ss and Ts can post
the kids were so excited we didn't have an issue, parents loved it no packets and can be done anywhere
I'm thinking of starting my own BookTube channel and posting book talks there. Starting in summer but continuing all year
Late to the party, but I'm here. Amanda, from Texas, third grade teacher
A1: When the sun goes down and you aren't allowed to physically go anywhere, reading is the only way to continue the adventure!
We do something like that. Ice cream? Pizza? Not sure....
A3; it's a bit different but our Ss do summer drawing / idea assignments to practice & build up portfolios _most of them do it
Snacks are good! Ice cream?
If they want to. Sure. But making kids do anything over the summer is nutty in my book.
A3: I always loved programs that added a piece to a collage for every book I read but I'm a book nerd
A3 what if you asked them to write up a short blog each wk and then published it b4 they returned ready to read?
A3: I'd like to have more discussions w Ss about what *I* should read - give me your suggestions and I'll read it
Hello ! Just made it to PA.
A3: Prizes and incentives are extrinsic. Intrinsic is reading occuring to S on their own. I see these two as mutually exclusive
Key phrase: If they want to - and those are the kids who would enjoy a snack & chat about books...
I am in. Offer food, so will they!
No packets is definitely incentive! :)
Can extrinsic ever kickstart intrinsic?
just started for my Ss showcasing books- its a hit
Btw- this is Cathy, edtech specialist in NYC, from NJ :)
A2) Not a big fan of added materials to reading unless it is truly engaging to the student.
A3: I do not offer prizes to those that read over the summer. Instill a love for learning and they'll read bc they want to
I've been the T who gave the 50 Q multiple choice stumper on the assigned summer rdg. https://t.co/yAXzYcm0s8
A3: Prizes and incentives are extrinsic. Intrinsic is reading occuring to S on their own. I see these two as mutually exclusive
some Ss are just waiting for a connection over the summer - I'm there every wk just in case
. Sounds fun. What grade? Most of anyone will do most of anything under the optimal conditions! :)
Could we have kids read Scott Pilgrim?
I do that all the time! They LOVE it!
I'd posit no. Extrinsic generally kickstarts the need for more kickstarting.
We are all bk nerds! But that's a great idea! Find a site where the Ss can pop in a pic from the bk they read.
I teach K - encourage literacy over summer I made writing boxes to write/read letters to/from peers! https://t.co/eUToLeauzc

A1: I loved reading in library summer reading programs when I was growing up.
Fair enough, so we're back to the real game, then, delight and inspire!
A3: Allow for time in the first few days of school for Ss to talk first to e/o & then to you about what they read.
during year had Ss send me reading selfies from home posted on Instagram..Huge hit !
Really enjoyed the flick!
A1: Especially when my section of the bulletin board dominated
they are amazed that I'll read what they want - "after yrs of being told what to read, to me you've earned it!"
A4: Badges! If you have different levels, they can almost make it a goal.
We've all been that T in some way, Oona! We are all learning as we go! :)
When I finish a book, I do not want to make a collage, fashion a diorama or do an interpretive dance. I want to talk about it!
A3) I have cousins that loved AR and getting the points but it was just for the points and prizes not for comprehension.
Q4: What if each "book" sent a postcard. You could give the kids 5 stamped index cards and they could draw setting.
Great movie, not many adaptations succeed that well. I love the graphic novels!
A4 A leader board to show reading hours accomplished by students
In my town, the library brings a program to the pool so kids can check out books & do activities there
A4: let Ss create a book review video and present them to other Ss. Add their video to QR code on the book in the library
going to try this summer for that - trying something new
This is my first time in What is the topic tonight?
An LMS would work too, if available. We have had summer reading picture challenges before. Cool!
Love this idea! https://t.co/KTa4lDwIIU
A3: I always loved programs that added a piece to a collage for every book I read but I'm a book nerd
We're must have kids read About Pilgrim! That's next on 's list https://t.co/oUuvf28XX0
Could we have kids read Scott Pilgrim?
A4. Shoutouts on website, Edmodo badges, keep it virtual.
I can remember a book mobile. I love that thing!
A4: maybe anyone that reads so many books during the summer gets to participate in a trivia game in the library over the books
Nor I. I have Ss then expecting it for just walking. uh, no.
A4 Guest librarian. Let a heavy reader curate a shelf for others in your room/library. Kinda like book picks at bookstores.
That's a great idea! https://t.co/lDwH366i2m
In my town, the library brings a program to the pool so kids can check out books & do activities there
And then we get to begin the year w/ 100's in the gradebook for some and 0's for others. So NOT inspiring!
A4 let them showcase interesting reads in library, have them booktalk in Sept. Let them create video etc
love that idea. Kids love being "famous" on social media
. I'm going to go with no? I know it doesn't for me. It can actually push me the other way. Insulting! lol
Gotta scoot out early. Fun chat as always!
A3. Encourage Ss to check out programs at the public library. Could keep them motivated.
will check that out. i like the name. where did you come across this?
As says, you haven't completely finished reading a book until you've passed it on to someone else!
Like being addicted to sugar after eating too many sugary treats too often!
A4: I used Periscope to Read Aloud to my students their summer reading last summer.
I'm motivated now to come up with something fun for summer using and .
Same here. But, I grew up loving comic books.
My kids will read over the summer if that's their jam. I'm going to trust them to decide.
of course it can also go the other way as well. Stuff is complicated
Me too! Book Mobiles are making a come back, I've even seen Bike mobiles https://t.co/ST8HeYGowl
I can remember a book mobile. I love that thing!
If they want to. Sure. But making kids do anything over the summer is nutty in my book. MORE >> https://t.co/hqR70DyQik
A4: if you read the book, you get to watch the movie version and discuss the similarities/differences in the library.
A2: Make me a movie trailer for your assessment
Can someone throw Q4 at me again please?
I think on - those folks are it when it comes to reading
Final sentence = life summed up in simple terms. https://t.co/riEAAqtaCT
of course it can also go the other way as well. Stuff is complicated
Thanks everyone for providing me the topic. Summer reading is such an important topic 4 discussion.
Yes, I can also see that, but I can't readily think of an example at the moment. Must exist.
Hope there is a Strbx or coffeeshop nearby for the quiet.
I have also seen little lending free libraries. We have one in my neighborhood https://t.co/rJhhpgbKWK
Me too! Book Mobiles are making a come back, I've even seen Bike mobiles https://t.co/ST8HeYGowl
I can remember a book mobile. I love that thing!
Which book was it that I read last summer that talked all about motivation? Drive?
A4: ask for their help shaping lists, programs - they've got expertise to share
Thanks! They enjoyed it and could ask questions.
It's only my third time here- new gym. I'm still at the window watching. I'll venture out eventually ;) https://t.co/lJMQnoSiXi
Hope there is a Strbx or coffeeshop nearby for the quiet.
It would be cool to have kids use makerspace materials to represent their fav. summer read
I use Xanax analogy. When a grades cause angst... new paradigm!
Do they have to be recognized? Can there just be discussion on favorite books? Just pondering? https://t.co/muL0AfpSda
Ss on morning announcements giving book review !
Plus it's a gorgeous night. I'm sitting in the car w the top down chatting
A4: What does "best" mean?
I know. I look forward to their FB posts.
Anyone use to overlay augmented reality videos in paper tradebooks?
Totally stealing that idea!
A4 let the readers help purchase library books
my nana worked on the bookmobile - she was a minor celebrity at my school
<3<3<3
https://t.co/PgoumIiufn
It would be cool to have kids use makerspace materials to represent their fav. summer read
You need to know books and know your readers and match them up. "I have the perfect book for you." https://t.co/vMGQPNl7Nu
A4: Depends on the age. My seniors are already gone in their minds, so those postcards would be so yesterday's recycling!
It's so scary 2 break from the traditional list, requirements, etc. But if U don't Ss will devise workarounds
Q5 Swap meets during summer around the neighbourhood where they can swap their books for others on recommendations
A5: value reading in all shapes, sizes and forms - bag the lists and just let them READ
we need to remember at the beginning of the year and let our Ss connect and share their creations.
A3: we let them read whatever they wanted around a topic or theme?
A4) I like discussions and suggestions for the class to create its own library.
A5: during the summer, I want to read what I *want* to read (and no one will make me take a quiz on it in Sept)
I basically let them choose what to read all year. Only read aloud a that are whole class I choose
A4 Write about their reading adventures on your blog and send them and their parents the link
There's a HUGE difference between being there for emotional support & "summer reading", right?
A5: Hold the door open as students walk towards the library. Tell them to choose their own adventure. Remember your purpose.
A5: I suggest to my kids that if they don't know 5 words in 5 pages, decide if it's a "challenge now" or "challenge later" book
Sorry I meant A5 -coffee kicking in now! https://t.co/5c00JFieve
Q5 Swap meets during summer around the neighbourhood where they can swap their books for others on recommendations
A5 by partnering w librarian to curate great collection for Ss choice; have carts & stack access too https://t.co/nimIqnK12W
I hope we will talk about summer reading for T's too. Not that I need more ideas for the really long list I already have.
fair point on the data wall. something more whole school where names aren't included just total hours read
I keep trying for no lists and will try every year
A5 include graphic novels, all genres of books. Students like different styles of books
A4: getting into individualizing. 1 bk for some Ss is a lot. It's tough to effectively reward.
A5 but reading Facebook posts should not count
Yes' the library hold the key to adventures! https://t.co/28bbPjG6OU
A5: Hold the door open as students walk towards the library. Tell them to choose their own adventure. Remember your purpose.
A5: Open the library and say, "Dive in, dudes. Find something good."
Oh, you poor thing! My point being, what is great for you is torture for me. Program freedom.
강남야구장 파티파티🍻 강남매직미러01021453560 강남풀싸롱
A5 Help them develop a list based on interests using a major book store website...
I hear you:Collaborative goals *can* be motivating. Chance to be part of something bigger than oneself.
absolutely! If they need an excuse to get them in the door, they've got one (and I've got bagels)
A5) Student choice is always a must for reading. Every summer reading list should have room for choice
well you could be my hero for that comment!
A5 we open the school library for students to self select all summer.
A4: Gift cards to bookstores? These kids obviously love books
I like this idea; MS & HS Ss could also record intentions & map reading pathways https://t.co/3BNnE9JG0A
A3: we let them read whatever they wanted around a topic or theme?
Oh, my sense of justice was keen!
A5: My librarian gave us free books to NY lib. with Open Ebooks app! Tons of choices if you have Internet and a cell phone!
, , , Anne's iCloud , , Wacha , Tuck Everlasting
I already know the answer to Q6 before it drops...
This is why I have problems w/ book clubs. Rdg is almost sacred to me.
I let Ss sign out books from my personal library. Do you all?
I let the kids make the lists and then hand them to Ts that want summer reading lists. - ownership
A5: if they can't find it in the library, let them use your kindle account, e-books, or reach out to local bookstore
I do need ideas that aren't PD types. I'm addicted to those, but I need to unplug every once in a while.
YES!!!!
https://t.co/gq5vokEKKb
A4: getting into individualizing. 1 bk for some Ss is a lot. It's tough to effectively reward.
Do you share on with the community? Highly recommend!
I knew you'd have us covered!
A4: Reading leaderboard? Though would it be by page or number of books ie- vs
A5: I worked on an assignment contract which allows students to demonstrate their knowledge as they see fit.
Nice! Then everybody should be happy, right? https://t.co/cIRJlvhsxd
I let the kids make the lists and then hand them to Ts that want summer reading lists. - ownership
Exactly then we are all working to meet the goal and push each other higher https://t.co/KoBgB5G6FX
I hear you:Collaborative goals *can* be motivating. Chance to be part of something bigger than oneself.
well I will now! Thx for the tip
can't be married to & not call upon librarian mightiness!
Strike almost, and I'm in.
works for me - always have a few kids stopping by
Brilliant! It's like a program that's not a program. (My brain just leaked out my ears.)
A5: just let them read what they want---choice. Considering having sum meets at school 2 chat up bks: bring 1 good & 1 eh.
I love those posts! I think if I ever met I'd give him a hug!
awesome, thanks for sharing.
I am noisy_librarian and yes, I AM!
A6 Gotta choices that motivate make a movie, design a room for a character, create a Twitter convo, create a bookmark challenge
Sorry I'm so late to . I was holding the door.
And then sobbing uncontrollably...
I humbly submit Differentiated Reading Instruction: for middle grades Ts https://t.co/LU5lPhTvvD https://t.co/V7Cai4zJrz
I hope we will talk about summer reading for T's too. Not that I need more ideas for the really long list I already have.
we have amazing one here; the bookstore in based on it!
A6: If you have a class that is so varied that it will be hard to find a common experience, it could be an everybody read
A5: Kickoff summer w on local digital collections. Biweekly to discuss, swap books, and update projects
A6 Maybe if you have an upcoming class that Ss are presigned up for - prereading?
A6: When it will give the S's a start on next year.
A6 when students have trouble picking books around their reading level
A4 reader bulletin board...kids email pics reading in cool places over summer and school posts on website and bulletin boards
A5. Leave it totally up to them while encouraging them to branch out and up.
A6 aside from a class brainstorm on great books they recommend I can't support this
A6: 1/2 if you're looking for a community read to shape culture of classroom
A6: 2/2 but please, pick something available in multiple formats including translations
A6 never- unless the Ss asks for one
I love those posts! I think if I ever met I'd have to give him a hug!
Summer reading should be "read some books that are awesome!
My read aloud builds community. I think it would be hard to build it during the summer
A6: Younger grades to keep it simple? Advanced HS courses for standard exams such as APs? Maybe never?
Also -engaging, and a quick read, not a slog!
A6. Maybe when they are in high school & need to get ahead for an AP or IB class.
A6: well never, I don't like being told what to read do I wouldn't do that to Ss. Instead talk with them about interest
I can't remember a time when I enjoyed an assigned book.
A5: Depends if those FB posts link to or other articles https://t.co/Hs70BsMrZH
A5 but reading Facebook posts should not count
A6 My summer instructions are, "Have a strange and beautiful summer!"
a6 really hate to see a kid get frustrated with a book
A6 Reworking metaphor from In the reading ladder of life, a specific reading title or list is 1st rung for some.
Ay - to the - Men. It's still really big in AP classes
A6: For those Ss who have specific interests only; Wait---for just abt every student. I'm playing Will Smith's Summertime.
even more amazing is the librarian who runs it for the kids 2penci
I will be building my family's community during the summer. My kids and I will read together all summer long.
