I revised Pirate Pete's Ransom. He stole the communion wine.
What new ideas / things are you planning to incorporate this year I am always interested in what teachers are implementing!
I saw one that was specifically designed for that purpose
That sneaky Pirate Pete! check out the modification she made for a Catholic school!
How many of you create your weekly newsletter in Drive? If you do, how do you sent to parents? Rather not send as a link.
I'll have to find it. I think I saved it on my computer.
We have a specific classroom page on our website that we update daily
my school does a weekly email, but I don't know how many parents actually read it.
great video. Anything by is worth listening to /reading
Any ideas for ? https://t.co/P47RUZgVOn
How many of you create your weekly newsletter in Drive? If you do, how do you sent to parents? Rather not send as a link.
who actually reads content is a huge problem!
Last two yrs I've made mine in G Draw. We are dept. so each T puts own info in by Sunday and then I send to Ps.
how many can you send in free version?
I keep the puzzles , changed ransom note, added one clue at the end to led to safe, find the wine and invite to a social.
I need to do more as T to communicate with Ps. But text heavy email does not seem to be way to go.
I don't remember. I set it up last year and then just went from there. Sorry!
We also emailed newsletter. Went back to paper also. Sometimes old tech gets message across better
Perhaps add a Google Form with Q's to find out who does.
hence my desire to do it differently in a newsletter format. Less talk, more pic?
gonna be honest, I barely skim emails once they hit the two paragraphs unless from friend/ family
teacher video is very inspiring
Hook with a graphic shows whats applicable. As a parent I don't need to know everything. https://t.co/ch4JlX1KKA
I need to do more as T to communicate with Ps. But text heavy email does not seem to be way to go.
no, I actually sent as attachment (pdf). Ps weren't ready for link, and less likely to read it that way.
My prev school struggled no matter how we sent it out!
what about <2 min video, just major highlights, links to other pages for more?
agree! Parents are the same. Need creative way to get info across to shorten the verbiage.
also sent to Ss since it's about their classes.
I did get the paid version also
Late to the party- hi from Maryland friends!
a lot or tools will help you to see analytics on who is reading and what Is clicked on
I've heard of folks setting up a classroom twitter page. Thoughts???
I'm hoping to change it up this year and use Google Sites instead.
agree! You have avid readers and then those who'd rather just call or don't care.
If used, I can see the worth. Easy to put together. Can put pics, links, etc.
Doing this with 8th grade, and snapchat. https://t.co/5XGdPhstZd
I've heard of folks setting up a classroom twitter page. Thoughts???
I always send a weekly parent and Ss version
Good morning I'm very late, forgot that I am in a different time zone, visiting my parents in British Columbia
what about having ss make vines about class, T another vine or super short video? But what about tech access?
Just a note ... new version of Sites in beta. No date for it to change for all yet
I love the idea. had one. I believe has one too
What is your favorite way to incorporate technology into your religion curriculum. Looking for ideas :)
Hi Melva! Hope you are doing well.
True everywhere! You can lead a horse to water... :)
Great idea.Students compose tweets
thank goodness! Sites is clunky, which is why I haven't had ss do much with it yet.
Remember, most are accessing from mobile devices. Could be a graphic too. https://t.co/YtS75Z0MT0
what about having ss make vines about class, T another vine or super short video? But what about tech access?
certain features can netter depending on the school's need
use the Laudate app to start....also virtual field trips are very cool!
Yes! I have played briefly, but they are still getting all expected features in place
have you tried the new Sites?
I need something to go to them. If they have to go to it, it won't happen.
Many of our schools use email and then Tweet highlights throughout the week. It's been well received by parents.
briefly but beta still short on all features I think in full release. Much cleaner and more drag and drop
goal: Ss create first page of class website to clarify who & what of Church. Multimedia, will post here!
Yes, I'm super anxious for update. Can't stand Sites right now. Wish it would get released b4 start of school.
our schools students start next week. I think will be a bit more time but no word yet
So sorry I'm not able to participate much this morning. Not getting the best cell signal in the mountains
Love to visit the Holy Land virtually.
welcome to today. Glad to have another leader with us today
you could do a virtual tour of the architecture of the church, or stations of the cross. FB 360 video.
What about students make podcasts to teach about the topic?
Yes! I want my students to create sites for digital portfolios
Beautiful!! I hope you are enjoying the cruise and excursions.
One of my fave projects is having Ss create Jesus's Twitter or Facebook page. Remind me, I'll send some examples.
I applaud you for tweeting in the car. I get car sick!
could have some do pics to sync for visuals Some could compose original prayer could do as vid podcast too
enjoy the mountains Barb, we drove through mountains yesterday, so awe inspiring, every time you see them
I am going to definitely dive into podcasting this year.
My Ss write a tweet after each Mass about readings or homily.
soo looking forward to that!
Tweet deck is such a must. So hard to folow and participate in chats without it
What's the coolest "give away" you've seen from a school to promote their school?
could also have the, using presentation software on a story or parable.
Love Laudate. I use it for the reflections before Mass. Love those!
What are you most looking forward to this school year?
Is there a format that we could set up where ss from all our schools, discuss readings, etc?
love that ... must be able to summarize in 140 characters!
this year our schools did uniform giveaways to encourage parents to follow them on Twitter - very successful!
Hopefully soon! It'd be nice to have it from get go of new yr but probably not realistic since that's next week.
. Late, but Joan from California here.
being back at the secondary level
their own scripture of the day on Twitter part of a class page. Snapchat examples in life of ppl being Christlike.
Good morning, . Lurking today since I have to make an early exit this am.
A Google Cardboard with the school logo.
I'm here - Theresa from Wisconsin
Me too!! We should share samples w each other if possible.
I know it was a rough one for you. Wishing you a better year! Sometimes understanding will come down the road.
Google hangout? Group blog? Can you set up G Classrm to allow ss from diff schools to join in one convo?
Believe it or not,I love the structure and routine. I also tend to miss the students.. So I do like seeing them!
if you have access to iPads, I love for eportfolios
We use Schoology so we don't have google classroom set up. https://t.co/buykGMyRm1
Believe it or not,I love the structure and routine. I also tend to miss the students.. So I do like seeing them!
yeah! Are you MS or HS? I ❤ teaching 6-8
Love it! Students love it!
Loved magnetic calendars with school contact info on them. They see a pic of school every time they open fridge
Agreed! As much as I enjoy summer downtime, by mid July I'm ready to get back to it!
I've seen your FB updates. What do you do w Rosaries?
so 9 PDT is what, 11 Central?
having a class with many students from my last k class, they were awesome in k and expect an awesome year in 3
All my students do-might use that
No iPads for us. We are 1:1 Chromebooks.
awesome! I hope your community has a blessed year.
I just wonder if it's ok for HS
Using google site portfolios to archive Ss work - front page blog will share with school & parents...
Any getting to know you activities you rec. for the first day/week for specials teachers?
we are hosting a full day teacher conference with in May. We are counting the days until 5.16.17

Glad I could enable you ;)
nice! Will forward it to my Principal.
Do you think it's better to buy the BreakoutEdu kit or make your own?
Is it possible for schools to get the beta sites update?
I like to buy ... supports other teachers and easier. Also love the wood box. Don't have new plastic one
I made my own. Ordering was 4 to 6 weeks before shipping. https://t.co/wPLzDtI6mH
Do you think it's better to buy the BreakoutEdu kit or make your own?
Google admin must apply for it
I'm planning staff retreat w theme of mercy. Any resources I should see/use?
I think the Google Administrator has to request beta version
ooh I hope so! Would love to use # Google sites as part of
my previous school did a Facebook page too Depends on where your parents are!
I bought from Amazon but I think the box looks so cool.
Br Chris - have you Google admin request beta access
reality is however you can get it and use it with kids is always a win!
