#WeAreMCPS
"Leaders must earn the trust of their teams, their organizations, and their stakeholders before attempting to engage their support."
-Warren G. Bennis
A1: Strong stakeholder relationships ensure everyone knows that they’re part of the team. It isn’t teachers vs. parents or school vs. community we are a team. #AllForOne#WeAreMCPS
#WeAreMCPS
I think of stakeholders as community members, too... so to have an engaged community means that “proverbial village” is supporting our students. = success! To engage community means extra time to build those relationships.

A2: Parent involvement is ensuring attendance at events. With parent engagement, parents are actively engaged in student learning through discussion, moral support, and more! #WeAreMCPS
A2. The same way student engagement & involvement differs!
Involvement does “not” equate to active vestment in the process... Engagement means the family is actively vested in the child’s success. This will look different for each family which is exciting, too!
#WeAreMCPS
A3: Student-led conferences give students a voice! They also ensure the student is at the center of the conversation. Student input and involvement in IEP meetings is possible and powerful too! #WeAreMCPS

A1-A4: since I’m just jumping in, I’m going to try to catch up. Having a solid relationship is essential for trust & communication. Parent engagement equates to active involvement in their Ss educational career. We know that when parents are involved, kids do better! #wearemcps
Check ✔️ I love all these. I’ve also been loving @ClassDojo portfolios to share student work and keep conversations about student learning active. #WeAreMCPS

A5: It’s important that #RockYourSchool goes beyond 4 brick walls to rocking real-life experiences that build background knowledge. I also hope my HLOs are meaningful and allow student voice such as these Choice Boards I created so students can #ShowWhatTheyKnow#WeAreMCPS
Yes! Students have to learn to advocate for themselves. By becoming engaged in the IEP process they become stakeholders in their education. I love it when they start learning this at an early age and not just when transition IEPs start.
