I would love to celebrate y’all of inspiring me to go into this level of education
Q1 How do you celebrate your students’ successes in the classroom?
I'm Matt, a 5th grade teacher, in a very stormy AL.
A1:Honestly I celebrate by writing lots of personal, specific notes to my kiddos. Then, mail them home.

A1: Verbal brags, positive notes, high fives, fist bumps.
A1 Anytime I can brag on a student to their parents/family members I do, even at Walmart!
A1:I try to personalize it for each student. Some want attn, others just want a silent nod. Some like it when I'm goofy.
I love to invent weekly bumps and fives as they leave each day. https://t.co/RvuJ9MEfDb

Always opportunities to connect with parents at the Walmart.
A1: One of my fav celebrations is part of our 40 book challenge. When kids finish a book, we ring a cowbell and cheer for them.
Good point. Some kids appreciate different kinds of positive reinforcement than others.
Question two is coming up!
Cool idea! Have to try this!
Q2 What school wide celebrations does your school have for students?
Thanks! One of the kids decorated cow bell to look like a cow. The kids knicknamed him Mr. Party Pants.

A2: We have Principal's parties for Ss who meet reading goals. Going skating on Friday. Honor Roll Bulletin Board in lunchroom .
What happens at the Principal's party?
A2: Sad, but I can't think of anything.
This "party" is a skating party at a local roller skating business. We usually go bowling, to the park, movies, etc.
Hahaha! We do this crazy whoooo thing when we ring it too. It is kind of a strange tradition that kind of developed.
A2: S of month, behavior, growth and attendance each month. Super readers. And business partners sponsor an award for awesomeness
We went to Disney on Ice at the last semester.
A2: Our school focuses on positive behavior. Once a month we have a school wide assembly and recognize good S behavior

Sounds awesome, I bet your students really enjoy the celebrations.

They do have fun. PTO is able to help cover part of the cost. Ss do have to help pay though, so not totally free.
A local business gives an award/free meal to 2 Ss per class per month for being "awesome". Ts choose & BP shakes hands
Q3 How does your school administration show appreciation for educators in your school?
What a great idea! Love the idea of bringing in business community and I love that it is an "awesome" award!

Every time a student comes back to visit, it shows their appreciation

A4 Homemade cards & written notes are my favorite. I have a scrapbook & when I'm having a tough day I read the sweet notes from Ss.
A4: Student brought me a box of . Knew it was my snack of choice. Haha.
A4b: But she had emptied the jar & covered inside with white tissue paper. She filled it with kitkats- my fav candy. Still have it
