This is the official Twitter account for #OklaEd, thehashtag that brings OK educators together. #OklaEd is not political & promotes constructive dialogue.
Hello from Maryland! Former OK educator here, currently studying Teaching & Learning, Policy & Leadership specializing in Minority & Urban Education at UMD #oklaed
#oklaed My name is Dr. Joanna Lein @JoMabeeLein and I am the Executive Director of the Teaching & Leading Initiative of Oklahoma. We are a nonprofit that works with districts to create a comprehensive novice teacher strategy.
Gday #oklaed
Carl from Avonsleigh Australia. We have a looming election too so I can reflect some of the practical stuff but am interested in what is happening there
A1 - I always vote in person on Election Day because I like seeing my local poll workers. When you vote every time you get to know them. I voted early one time and they let me have it for not voting in person the next time we voted 😂 #oklaed
A1 I prefer voting in person. My polling place is just across the road from me, so it is super convenient. Early voting or absentee is less convenient in my current situation #oklaed
A1: I have voted in person early, at my precinct and absentee. I don’t have a favorite. Glad I have all the options because my life is crazy. Voting in person at my precinct on Tuesday. #oklaed
A1: I vote in person. I’m lucky in that my polling place is also my daughter’s school. I take her with me before dropping her off. I want her to see my vote. I want her to know it’s essential. #oklaed
A1) Had intentions of voting early, but due to job obligations, I was unable to get there. I’m going to be at polling place at 7am Tuesday so I can get to school on time to get Ss to district choir clinic. #oklaed
A1) I’ll be voting in person this year. It changes every year based on my schedule at the time. (The only time I’ve been late to work is because I was in line voting- the students/admin were totally fine with it) #oklaed
A1) The main polling booth is at the High School and that is packed.
I usually go to one of the smaller rural school where less people are #oklaed
Also it's a tradition that the school hosting the polling booth runs a cake stall and sausage sizzle
A1: Election Day at precinct. Don’t really know why. I’m young & have voted every time I could but still, hasn’t been much. I like everyone to see me in my pro-public-ed gear and teacher lanyard VOTING. 🤷🏻♀️ plus, sticker. #Oklaed
A2 #oklaed We still have a huge teacher shortage. It will take more funding for classrooms, even more competitive wages, and time to undo the damage from the last decade.
A1: I vote in person on voting day because my polling place is halfway (15 min) to school, but my county seat is 25 minutes in the other direction. And I like wearing my I VOTED sticker to school... #oklaed
A1: Gotta vote day of at my polling place. They will no doubt try to give me a yellow ballot for R and I will say “no, I need a pink” for D. Happens every time in OK HD 82. #oklaed
A1: I vote on Election Day because I always went with my parents as a kid. I always loved getting the sticker and even at 21 I still love getting the sticker and just the satisfaction of going to the polling place #oklaed
A2 - Classroom funding and increased teacher pay. Class sizes are way too big and we still aren’t keeping new grads in the state...last year just stopped the bleeding momentarily. We need vision. This will be a process. #oklaed
Just found this out from a fellow twitter person today. I think OK needs to move this way. We gotta change our voting responses. Too few people making major decisions for the state. #oklaed
This is painful to watch. Nobody should be forced to stand in that line. OK could learn something from CO. A ballot is automatically mailed to everyone. There are drive thru drop offs and 24 hr drop boxes all over Denver.
A2: The most important issue for #oklaed is proper (full) funding. We MUST have proper funding in order to serve our students in the way that they need. They need smaller classes, more social services, better options & so much more.
There recently was a by-election here (when you replace someone who retired during their term)
The Govt said some contentious things a few days before and the prepoll votes were very different to the on the day votes #oklaed
A2 No matter who wins, there needs to be a realization that resources for education are still critical. Without those, all others will continue to be problematic. More funding for education means less you will need for prisons in the future #oklaed
#oklaed I love the feeling of election day so I wait... The joy of coming to the polling place and talking to the sweet ladies who are there every single time. They are true democracy warriors. I am can't wait to see them again on Tuesday! Fortunately, it is only 5 doors down.
A2) the teacher shortage, classroom sizes, classroom funding, increase in teacher pay. A need to put our children first and support for teachers. #oklaed
A2 The legislature made positive moves last year and promised it was a start. We must keep the promise to regain trust of Oklahomans across the state and continue working on decades of neglect. #Oklaed
A2: please keep education funding at the forefront. We need smaller class sizes to retain Oklahoma teachers. To properly and adequately educate our students. This is unfair to them to be crammed into a class with 30 other kids and taught by an emer cert T. #oklaed
A2: Funding continues to remain my largest concern. We know two pieces of the revenue from HB1010xx are diverted in year 2 from funding the salary increase. This will place an unfunded mandate on our local school districts. #oklaed
A3 #oklaed#okgov I'm voting for @DrewForOklahoma - He marched with teachers. He supported the pay raise legislation. He has a viable plan to continue the momentum from 2018.
A2: Funding would cover it all: class size in many districts, extra social help in schools, personalized PD. None of these can be tackled without more $$. #oklaed
A3) Drew Edmondson. Stitt doesn’t have a clue what is necessary to properly run our state nor does it seem that he wants to properly take care of #oklaed.
A2: Funding of course. Also think we need to look at schools housing more community resources as a law. Clinics and social services should be in schools to improve access. #oklaed
A2: As a preservice teacher I would love to become a teacher in Oklahoma, but some of the biggest factors that make me question that are the issues of competitive wages and the old resources in classrooms. Our students deserve better! #oklaed
A2: Leadership that will help us get #oklaed where it needs to be. We made progress in the Spring, but it would be extremely beneficial if we had a pro-teacher candidate in the Governor’s office, JMHO.
A2 Officials who respects the role education plays in our society and understand that we can’t turn things around without real change, and adequate funding. #oklaed
A2 We need people elected with a true commitment to public education in this state. It will drive our standard of living upwards. We probably know who those people are. They have a history with public ed. and have their own children in neighborhood schools #oklaed
A2) One of the most important issues is dealing with emergency certifications. The number of EC has to be a detriment to our profession and the learning experience for students. There are, though, exceptions. #oklaed
A3 - I am not a 1 issue voter. @DrewForOklahoma not only is a huge supporter of #oklaed, but knows we are suffering in so many areas of our state. My Ss are affected greatly by the cuts to ALL core services. We need CJ reform, access to mental health services, etc.
A3: I want @DrewForOklahoma to win. I believe he has a solid plan to properly fund public education, he understands how govt works, & is the best man to navigate the process of fully funding education. #oklaed
Hi #oklaed
Diego Cifuentes, Vice-President of the Student Oklahoma Education Association(@SOEA_OK)
Joining late, but excited about tonight’s conversation!
A2) Strategic investment into public school classrooms: to end teacher shortage, end oversized classrooms, provide textbooks, more counselors and training for teachers. #oklaed
A3 Something about one of the candidates makes me cringe every time he speaks. Not what he says, but something deep down is bothered by the idea of him becoming gov #oklaed
#oklaed A2) The priority has to be on securing per pupil funding. As much as state question 801 seems shiny because it is giving local control, it is ultimately a smokescreen to cause the state to not fund what they should and cause disparities.
A2: As a preservice teacher I would love to become a teacher in Oklahoma, but some of the biggest factors that make me question that are the issues of competitive wages and the old resources in classrooms. Our students deserve better! #oklaed
Hi #oklaed
Diego Cifuentes, Vice-President of the Student Oklahoma Education Association(@SOEA_OK)
Joining late, but excited about tonight’s conversation!
A3: I am voting for @DrewForOklahoma he was there at the walkout handing out water, asking what we needed, we couldn’t even get current gov and Lt. Gov to even come to work. #Oklaed
A2 We need to follow democratic processes in our Oklahoma legislature when it comes to our budget process. Our budget is still decided behind closed doors, & literally at the 11th hour legislators are shown the budget & asked to vote w/o time to debate. This must change! #OklaEd
All that right there! ⬇️ I’ve never heard another elected person say the words and invest in a plan that truly gave value to my career and passion, counseling. #oklaED
A2) Strategic investment into public school classrooms: to end teacher shortage, end oversized classrooms, provide textbooks, more counselors and training for teachers. #oklaed
A4 I'm with @joy4ok She effectively advocates for #oklaed Ts, Ss, and Ps. She includes us in decision-making. She even has a budget plan moving forward that builds upon this year's gains. https://t.co/aAjubgkm64#4moreyears
A3: @DrewForOklahoma has my vote for Oklahoma Governor. He was there walking with us during the walkout. He wants to fix the problems leading to rural hospitals closing. He cares about healthcare and criminal justice. #oklaed
A3) @DrewForOklahoma - Balance, experience and I feel he will be state focused. He won’t be worried about his next job and will solely focus on doing this one. #oklaed
A3: I am pretty sure everyone is going to say Edmondson. I hope someone will say his opponent just so I can get why. I am voting because he listens. This is so needed now. So tired of people not listening to me but they represent me. #oklaed
A3 I'm voting for Drew Edmondson because he truly supports public ed. Stitt doesn't have his own children in public schools so we know he has no faith in what we are doing. #oklaed
A4: @joy4ok she’s the only person who has truly gotten to know counselors and put value and worth to what they do on a daily basis. And she believes in treating and helping all kids needs. #oklaed
Love watching people on this chat get played by legislators who act like they really care about #Oklaed or maybe they do until #Nov6 let’s not forget a walkout had to occur before they finally did anything.
A4) @joy4ok! She has been and continues to fight for public ed and teachers! She also recognizes the importance of mental health services and trauma-informed practices for our students. #oklaED
A3: @DrewForOklahoma because he will focus on rural schools and keeping the doors open. He understands their need and the no need for vouchers. #Oklaed
#OklaEd I will admit, I voted against @joy4ok in the last election. However, she has proven herself to be an incredible advocate for public education! Vote for Joy!
A4: @joy4ok of course! I see her at PD, at conferences, in OKC. She goes where the action is and stands up to those who want to take from #oklaed . I know a good thing when we have it - and I want to keep her working for us!
A3 We definitely should NOT vote for someone who is ideologically aligned against public education, & sadly it appears @StittforGov is on that side of the fence. In contrast, @DrewForOklahoma is pro-public education, & also supports other important, progressive reforms #OklaEd
In reply to
@grendelrick, @StittforGov, @DrewForOklahoma
A4: I'm proud to be supporting @joy4ok Her steadfast leadership through these difficult times has been inspiring. She has an open door policy and I always walk away feeling better informed. #oklaed
A4: I’m with @joy4ok she has really advocated for our kids and I like that she isn’t afraid to fight for what she thinks is best for OK students. #Oklaed
A4: @joy4ok. I love the momentum she has help create for education! She helped turn the tide four years ago when we desperately needed a leader! #OklaEd
The walkout was a statement by;#oklaed teachers but the raises were passed before the walkout therefore your rude attacks display your lack of knowledge
@joy4ok knows she has my vote. For so many reasons. She has proven she puts the children first. She has formed student led task forces to give our students a voice. She is an effective advocate for all students and teachers. #Oklaed
A4: @joy4ok has been a warrior for #oklaed This is a no brainer. Thank you so much, Joy, for all you have done for my own kids and the kids of Oklahoma!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I was the same as well. Just wasn’t sure if her limited experience would work. She has shown me to be wrong and I am happily voting and getting all of my family to vote for her this time. #oklaed
A4: @joy4ok has always listened to concerns and ideas. She has been working hard and needs more time to continue.I love that she is very hands on in classrooms and shared photos of her playing/learning with kindergartners. But,she hasn't been in my Calculus class, yet.😂 #OklaEd
Cultivating writers, thinkers, & problem-solvers takes time invested in written feedback & individual conferencing. When teachers have over 30 students in a class X 6 classes, children suffer. (Do the math, per assignment, per kid.) Fund education. Invest in our children. #oklaed
A5 #oklaed I'm for @KimberlyFobbsOK for Insurance Commissioner. We need someone in that position who will advocate for the health needs of the most vulnerable Oklahomans - especially children.
https://t.co/JUpy6LwQ9W
A4 Without a doubt I'm voting for @joy4ok for Oklahoma State Superintendent of Public Instruction. Joy has worked tirelessly as an advocate for our students, teachers, & families in #OklaEd. I respect her integrity & passion to help make every classroom an amazing place to learn!
A4: I know everyone is saying @joy4ok because she has always been there for us. What has made me really fight for her is when she stood up against Fallin and the consolidation. She shows she is not about her political party. That is what we need everywhere! #oklaed
Has anyone written a post about statewide candidates, and specifically how their record & professed agenda lines up with priorities for supporting Oklahoma public education?
#OklaEd
A4: After finally being able to claim residency this year I am excited to vote in my first Oklahoma election! I will be voting for @joy4ok because she shows the most promising support for Oklahoma public education! #oklaed
A4: @joy4ok I truly feel Joy has a proven record of getting the job done. She works hard for our children 24/7. As a teacher and a mom of public school children, I know they are safe with Joy! That gives my heart peace. #oklaed
SD 30 @JuliaKirt - Her kids go to OKCPS & her opponent has received a lot of $$ from Betsy DeVos and Co.
SD 40 @hicks4ok - a teacher, duh.
County Commissioner @CarrieBlumert - she understands the need for CJ reform & my Ss have suffered from our incarceration rates. #oklaed
A5 I am sure I am going to be a lone voice in this but judicial votes are huge. We can’t keep voting keep. We have the highest prison incarceration. All issues eventually impact school and this is a big one! #oklaed
A5: It seems all state level positions end up with a say in #oklaed eventually, don't they? Sometimes I'm not sure how or why someone gets a say in it!
A5: I’m voting for @leslieosborn1 for Labor Commissioner. @jacobrosecrants for House district 46. I am also voting for @KimberlyFobbsOK for insurance commissioner. Honestly, I’m torn on Lieutenant Governor. May go independent. #oklaed
A1: I decided to apply for an absentee ballot this year due to my busy schedule. Having an absentee ballot has allowed me more time to research the questions and the candidates.
#oklaed
A5 #oklaed I'm for @KimberlyFobbsOK for Insurance Commissioner. We need someone in that position who will advocate for the health needs of the most vulnerable Oklahomans - especially children.
https://t.co/JUpy6LwQ9W
A5: @KimberlyFobbsOK for Insurance Commissioner. When we prioritize affordable healthcare and access to preventive screenings and services our students quality of life is dramatically increased. #oklaed
A5: even though I don’t get to vote for him, I feel this race is very important for public ed. We have one in our corner that embodies strength and determination...that is why we need to keep @jonechols#Oklaed
#LetsDrewThis Drew Edmondson has more than talking points when it comes to education and didn’t miss the glaring neon sign pointing to Oklahoma’s desperate need for criminal justice reform. As a person who worked in criminal justice and now works in Ed, he’s got my vote. #oklaed
Q7 In 2019, the Capitol will be full of rookie legislators. After the election, how soon is too soon to make contact with your new representative or senator? #oklaed#askingforafriend
A7: A congratulations card or email seems okay to me. Say Wednesday or Thursday... ;-) Why wait? They should know early who they'll be hearing from and who is anticipating their impact! #oklaed
Q7 In 2019, the Capitol will be full of rookie legislators. After the election, how soon is too soon to make contact with your new representative or senator? #oklaed#askingforafriend
A6....uuug...I don’t even like thinking about it. District 91...I wish I could support my current Rep...but I need someone who will respect educators, work with them, ans be honest. #oklaed
A7: I’m not sure there is such a thing as too soon. We cannot afford to become complacent & we cannot allow them to forget who they work for. We need to continue to build relationships w/ our reps. #oklaed

A7) I say start making contact now, the legislative season gets busy and we all already know what the issues are. Start building those valuable relationships #oklaed
She is but labor commissioner is more than education. My husband used to work there. I am fine if she wins but I have to admit, she didn’t have as much experience to me so that swayed me away. Still love you Leslie. #oklaed
A6 Jeff Berrong for Senate-two signs in my yard, not a voucher man and strong support for education, has an understanding of how to work with others too. #oklaed
Q7 In 2019, the Capitol will be full of rookie legislators. After the election, how soon is too soon to make contact with your new representative or senator? #oklaed#askingforafriend
You have to know who your representatives are. It is so disappointing when major legislation is being debated and I call fellow educators who don’t even know the key player is their rep #oklaed

A7) a congratulations card next week with your contact information isn’t too soon. Or you could buy them an adult beverage at their watch party Tuesday night! They all deserve that! It’s been a long season. #oklaed
According to @OklahomaWatch, some of these reforms @DrewForOklahoma supports for Oklahoma include GPT changes along with capital gains taxes (revenue expansion), prison sentencing reforms, & supporting health insurance expansion. All good ideas #OklaEd

Okies rejected the 1 cent sales tax. They had their kids held hostage until they gave in on having their taxes raised. Is it a trend? Maybe.
I do know Okies will only put up with so much money being wasted without major improvement.
#oklaed
#oklaed If you are still deciding, there is a website called Simpoll Voting. It matching you stances with candidates who completed the survey themselves (as opposed to an ad, staffer, etc.). https://t.co/YtHyn0zaUD Definitely check it out.
A7: Hopefully you've already been knocking, volunteering and supporting candidates that support #oklaed and have a working relationship already lined up! 😉
Q7 In 2019, the Capitol will be full of rookie legislators. After the election, how soon is too soon to make contact with your new representative or senator? #oklaed#askingforafriend
A7) Legislators are just regular people. They each come in with a few key things that they want to do. On the rest of the issues, they need to hear from their constituents. Tell them what you think early and often. #oklaed
A7 Better to start out on a good note instead of calling angrily when an issue comes up. The more they know you care, the more likely they are to care. #oklaed
Q7: Hopefully, we have already been in contact thru the election process and should not hesitate to contact after the election. We’ve seen what complacency and inaction leads to. #oklaed

I would say yesterday is not to soon. Seriously, if they just ran their contact info should be everywhere. Use it! You are not an interruption in a legislators day, you are the reason they exist. #oklaed

Charles De Coune for State Treasurer will fight to protect teachers' and other state workers' pension funds. No COLA for as long as teachers have had no raise. #oklaed
It will be imperative for those that have already been there to mentor new members. To reset the tone of civil discourse to provide real opportunity for progress. #oklaed members should reach out early and often. #Step2 won’t happen without continued pressure.
This sounds like a good idea, but why is there no "about page" on https://t.co/AyuGyKBSCx? I'm hesitant to sign up with my email address when I can't read more about what I'm signing up for... #OklaEd

A8: To set up a new "reserve fund" right now in Oklahoma is like bolstering your family savings account while starving the two youngest babies at the table because you don't have enough $$ to buy groceries. #oklaed

We need more "town hall meetings" where #OkLeg legislators come together 2 both share perspectives as well as listen to constituents. These events should be livesreamed & also archived for folks who can't attend F2F &/or want to watch later. #OklaEd Ss could help document these!
A8: maybe I’m being foolish, but do we NEED another reserve fund? I mean if we just managed our regular funds better wouldn’t that work? Clearly I’m undecided on this one.#Oklaed
A8) I’m against it because as the graphic said we have two reserve funds. We need to be using funds to find ways to diversify revenue streams in this state because oil and gas aren’t going to be the way forever. #oklaed

Q8 State Question 800 would withhold a portion of Gross Production Tax collections for a new reserve fund. Are you for or against this question, and why? https://t.co/m0c3oEzxaO#oklaed
A8: Against 800! Does nothing for us. We already have similar Funds. Not well-formed. Should take the 5% off total budget not just gross production. #OklaEd
A7-hopefully we have all been volunteering and donating to candidates...so, after elections, we will have an inside track to introductions. Not special attention, but full participation in the #okleg process. #oklaed

A8: Both. I would be for it if there were a reasonable cap listed, but I sure haven't found one. It seems like it would eventually be 100% going to this new "Vision Fund" that has no vision attached - so who determines where that $ gets spent? #oklaed

A8 Rather than tapping into Gross Production, which already has enough competing for $$$, why not generate new revenue sources? Something not related to a sin tax or big oil #oklaed
Q9 State Question 801 would allow school districts to take the money in their building fund and use it like general fund money. Are you for this state question or against it? Why? #oklaedhttps://t.co/3N3Aqt37dB
A7) Might be a little pedagogically dated, but I’d love to see a digital clip chart/gold stars/smileys/whatever that keeps track in real time of who’s voting for and against improving education in OK. Hold them accountable with quick assessment & feedback. #oklaed
A9: I am opposed to this SQ bc it lets the legislators off the hook I think and puts it on school admin to determine how the money is spent. It’s lazy legislation. #oklaed
A9 #oklaed As a superintendent, I can tell you that I will support any measure that helps with funding. SQ 801 does not. It neither provides more revenue nor more flexibility. I wouldn't change the state constitution to convert a quarter to five nickels.
Q9 State Question 801 would allow school districts to take the money in their building fund and use it like general fund money. Are you for this state question or against it? Why? #oklaedhttps://t.co/3N3Aqt37dB
A9: Totally against. People who have access to $ are likely to spend it, and it could be tempting to divert maintenance funds to cover the next sexy education program or an emergency that comes up. How many districts have so much left over they need somewhere to put it? #oklaed
Q9 State Question 801 would allow school districts to take the money in their building fund and use it like general fund money. Are you for this state question or against it? Why? #oklaedhttps://t.co/3N3Aqt37dB
A6 - It cannot be a surprise to anyone that @jacobrosecrants has my heart, my donations, my volunteer hours. He must be re-elected on Tuesday! #okleg#oklaed
A7) if you walk neighborhoods for those local candidates now, and not wait till after the election to reach out, you’ll have a friend for life. #oklaed
Q9; I’ve referrred to the experts and experts tell me NO. IMHO, I see a yes vote would allow for an idea of increased funding and allow the govt to underfund #oklaed as a trickery to the public.
A9 If there were a statewide building fund like our neighbors to the south, this might be a viable option. Until then, why force us to choose facilities over faculty #oklaed
Q8 State Question 800 would withhold a portion of Gross Production Tax collections for a new reserve fund. Are you for or against this question, and why? https://t.co/m0c3oEzxaO#oklaed
Spies are watching. Hilarious! Haha haha. I, nor others you would block if they said something, will be silenced.
Read John Gatto Okies. Your kids deserve better.
#oklaed#Oklahoma#OKleg#OKC#OklahomaCity
Over here taxpaying Okies. The majority leader, who we hope is a a good steward of our money, is talking about spending YOUR money.
@RidgeKayser@Albaccord2
A9. Can’t support 801. It would be disaster for most small districts. If there’s no tax base and valuations are low, what will@happen to facilities?#oklaed
A9: Buildings age. They are in constant need of repair and upgrade. Do we really have the extra to spend on whatever? What about corruption? Who monitors the spending of those funds? I don’t know seems like a bad idea. #Oklaed
A8 State Question 800 sounds good to the casual observer, but it is a short sighted idea. We have far too many agencies desperate for operational monies including public education. When our student's health and well-being suffers, they bring those problems to school. #oklaed
Got to jump off a little early so that I can prepare for school and then continue to help @juliakirt after school tomorrow. Help a candidate by getting the word out. #oklaed
A9: against 801. We already have schools where repairs are not funded. If money could be used elsewhere more repairs would be delayed causing teachers to be working in deteriorating buildings. #OklaEd
Q9 State Question 801 would allow school districts to take the money in their building fund and use it like general fund money. Are you for this state question or against it? Why? #oklaedhttps://t.co/3N3Aqt37dB
A9: against. This would decimate smaller towns and districts that can’t compete tax dollars with other areas to pay teachers or fund classrooms. I don’t know how this was ever considered a good idea! #oklaed

A8: I am against 801. It creates a greater chasm between districts based on higher or lower revenue from property taxes. That is another layer of inequity. Wealthier districts could pull money from the Building Fund for teacher salaries, others couldn't. #oklaed

Is this awesome or what? Look at the variety of stakeholders joining in these #oklaed chats!! I’m most impressed with the legs that take the time to learn with us. @jonechols@sfetgatter@jacobrosecrants@oksenthompson just to name a few I’ve seen. Who have I missed??
So who is behind SQ 801? Has @OKPolicy@OklahomaWatch or anyone else shared a post / article about the backstory here? We actually need a post / article about the backstory for each of our state questions: Are there out-of-state funders, who's driving each train... #OklaEd

A8: To set up a new "reserve fund" right now in Oklahoma is like bolstering your family savings account while starving the two youngest babies at the table because you don't have enough $$ to buy groceries. #oklaed
Q8 State Question 800 would withhold a portion of Gross Production Tax collections for a new reserve fund. Are you for or against this question, and why? https://t.co/m0c3oEzxaO#oklaed
A9 State Question 801 is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Rural schools don't need these funds diverted from building maintance. People are being misled thinking they are solving a teacher pay crisis. We need safe buildings in order to teach. #oklaed
A9: ICYMI vote no on 801. There is no additional revenue. However, removing the restrictions potentially forces districts to choose between salaries and building operations, neither of which have near enough funding. #oklaed

@grendelrick Thanks for the awesome chat tonight! It really gave me insight to how a lot of Oklahoma educators think and It is making me want to stay in state when I graduate! I am eager to see what job opportunities Oklahoma has for me in the future! #OklaEd
I just realized I've been voting my choices, but I really do think 801 has a chance of voting because so many people don't research. The yes people ("choice" advocates?) have done a good job of making it SOUND helpful. :-/ #oklaed
A4: @joy4ok has been a warrior for #oklaed This is a no brainer. Thank you so much, Joy, for all you have done for my own kids and the kids of Oklahoma!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I've never heard of Twitter banning an account for "asking uncomfortable questions." Have you documented what happened in a public blog post? You might consider doing that if your account was banned / shut down for what you perceive to be an illegitimate reason.

A8: Compartmentalizing, being patient w/ myself and taking it 1 day at a time helps me the most. Being able to keep work responsibilities at work and school and personal priorities in their own bubbles is key for me, that way I don't feel like I'm not accomplishing enough #oklaed

While partisan politics have no place in the classroom, how do we do a better job of getting our students to believe in the value of democracy and the importance of voting? How do we prepare them to be digitally literate enough to evaluate what they see online and on TV? #oklaed
Goodnight peeps! Print your sample ballots tomorrow if you haven’t already! You can take it in with you to vote! We told them in April we would “remember in November” - time to put our money where our mouth is! #BeAVoter#WhenWeAllVote#OklaEd
Well done sir, @grendelrick. Not many could handle the #rememberinnovember Sunday night chat. But you did it. Let’s all remember our passion & purpose. We love kids, the future, & all things edu! Let’s get this done! #oklaed
BQ: I will not stay up or anticipate every moment. I'll wait until Wednesday morning to get the results! #oklaed In 2016, I thought I knew the results, but there were changes to come!
